Crazy as they may seem, it's these musical dreamers that ensure Kine makes your heart skip as your head rings - wrong notes and all. [Issue#139, p.114]

If you’ve got a mind for puzzles, Kine is great. If you’re into the narrative, Kine might make you feel like an afterthought.

  1. Kine might organise itself like a musical composition, but it also keeps you at arm’s length from the music. You’re here to move the performers around, not strut your stuff. Perhaps the moral of the story there is that raw talent only gets you so far; that the biggest stars took off not just because they had the best tunes, but because they had managers who knew how to move them up the ladder. Or perhaps this is just a game that, for all its enormous cleverness and warmth, hasn’t quite put the pieces together.

I haven't finished the game yet because, well, the puzzles are hard. But I do like what I've managed to complete so far. The characters andI haven't finished the game yet because, well, the puzzles are hard. But I do like what I've managed to complete so far. The characters and the little story bits are charming. The music is very nice - although it can get a bit repetitive if you're stuck on the same puzzle for too long. That's probably unavoidable though. The visuals are nice. And the puzzles are challenging. How difficult you'll find this game probably depends on how good you are at spatial thinking. Full Review »
