What really falls in this game, is the extreme repetition. the game is based on clearing 10 waves, plus an 11th which is the final boss, using a team of 6 soldiers that uses (very well) different classes in order to wipe the monsters. And that's it: the game is extremely repetitive because, even though the classes are different and have 7 levels (they start from level 0). However, the levelling procedure is EXTREMELY slow and will take lots and lots of time in order to reach max level, especially when each class have their own way to level up (firebug= roast some monsters; Medic= heal tons of time; Support= weld a lot of doors). However, this game is really fun though, especially if you play with friends or have a clan to play with, especially because it's NOT an easy game (except low levels): it's a game that encourages team work and a lot of defensive maneuvers, which isn't very easy to do if your team is clueless on what to do, and the classes must be used wisely too (the sharpshooter, for instance, can almost one-shot most of the biggest enemies, while the firebug is a good crowd controller). It's a very repetitive and simple game, but that simplicity has a lot of deep into it. Give it a try, I really recommend to give it a look if you're looking for a different team based shooter. Expand

Killing floor seems to be a game that people will either love or hate. They might love it for the simple and gory action that never lets up. I want to address some of the things people have been condemning this game over. First is the graphics. In a nut shell: I don't see what people are whining over. The game looks fine enough and does a good job of achieving the atmosphere it seeks to create. Next is the repetitive gameplay. I don't understand why people are hating the game for this reason. I keep hearing it being compared to left 4 dead and in my opinion it's just as repetitive as killing floor. I guess it's because they it's 1.a valve game, and 2. they wave around their AI director like a victory flag. Killing floor also has persistent progression with perks that level up as you complete their requirements, and a large arsenal of weapons that is far more varied than left 4 dead's. Other people have criticized the AI. What do you expect from drooling mutants in killing frenzies? They do their job and nothing less. Of course this is all rendered stupid form the start considering that the game costs twenty bucks. For this along with the free updates sure to come I don't see why this isn't a good dead and at the same time I don't see how anybody could expects more. I don't hate left 4 dead but comparing it to killing floor just because they both have co-op and zombies is unfair. If you like quick and gory good fun and have friends to play with then I recommend killing floor. Expand

I'll keep it short and sweet...
Cons: Linear gameplay, no direction (you just kill monsters), highly repetitive.
Pros: Despite the gameplay being linear; this IS my most favorite 'zombie' shoot 'em up on the market. With a game this fun (especially with friends) you don't need a reason/story to be doing it, all I'm thinking about is the next round. And for it being highly repetitive,

And for it being highly repetitive, it's a lot better than what I've experienced with World at War and Black Ops "Nazi Zombies". In a 3 way (between Treyarch's Call of Duty Zombies, Left 4 Dead, and Killing Floor); despite KF not being a true blue zombie game, this is the best, most underrated, and overlooked.

Quite a fantastic coop game. This game shines with online multiplayer. An addicting fast paced teamwork intensive game. Well supported by the developers who are still fixing and extending the game. The critic reviews are rather sadly out of date since this game has seen massive (positive) changes since it's release.

That's what makes this game better than L4D series: YOU can design a map, and easily have the world playing it. (or you can just stick to playing other people's maps, there are plenty to go around). There are many pluses, including a hoard of achievements some of which are nearly impossible to get, and the fact that Tripwire keeps making free updates (like changing monsters' looks for christmas or summer) and adds new maps to the official collection. But of course, graphics are not top of the line, sure, and some animations are choppy, and it's not really that "adventurous" - most maps are won by sitting in a corner, dumbly shooting in front of you. But, it is what you make of it, i guess. Expand

The gameplay is for the most part mindless as hordes of zombies just run straight at you. The default maps are fairly small and bland. The perk system is just a useless tool to make you keep playing longer, but has very little effect on the game besides just making killing things easier. I must say I bought this game on sale and yet I am still disappointed. Don't be fooled by these perfect 10 ratings, this game is far from perfect. After a few hours you have pretty much seen all it has to offer. After 3 hours I am tired of the game and will probably never play it again. But now, the game has gone from one of my favorite horde shooters to one of my #1 examples of how pay-to-win is killing this industry. A little under a year ago, a weapon DLC was added to the game, adding 4 blatantly overpowered weapons, such as a ranged weapon for a previously melee-only class and a scythe with greater reach than any melee weapon in the game. This was added under the guise of "supporting the modders who made them", despite the fact that said modders had been perfectly contempt with releasing their previous weapon mods for free prior to being bought out by Tripwire. Yesterday marked the release of a second weapon DLC, and the weapons are as overpowered as ever. If you're alright with being at an objective disadvantage to the players who forked out an extra $10, then go ahead, buy this game, as you'll probably enjoy it. But if you can't stand watching game-after-game fall to awful practices like this, then send the devs a message through sales figures, and don't buy Killing Floor, and hopefully we may see improvement in the future. There is no story or anything of that sort, but the gameplay definitely makes up for it. It involves you fighting off waves of zombie-like creatures together with teammates, then buying better guns and fighting even tougher creatures. The enemy creatures that you face are very intriguing. Each one has its own means of attacking you and its own backstory. There is also a very impressive selection of guns that you get to use to fight the creatures off. The players also get to choose their class. The class system is great, because it allows teammates to specialise, what means that teamwork is encouraged greatly. It's quite flexible still as you are not limited to certain weapons with each class. It's just that you get different bonuses. And then there are some minor RPG elements present. You get to level up each class and get better at certain types of weapons depending on your style of play. At first when I visited the in game weapon shop I thought there were a lot of choices but once I started using more guns, I realized I didn't like some of them and that I'd often stick to one or two certain guns depending on my class. I also thought at some point even more weapons would be available in the shop but I couldn't have been more wrong and it all just resorts in using the same guns all the time, playing the same mode, killing the same zombies, over and over again. There are also classes but this doesn't really help the game much and there aren't really any worthwhile perks to them except for spawning with armor or maybe a gun but other than that, leveling up perks just increases the amount of damage you do overall. So the lack of game modes (I'll remind you there is only one), repetition and lack of any real depth is what kills an otherwise somewhat enjoyable game. Expand
