Great game but the port is less than ideal. Having played and finished the original several years ago on the original system, this port feels very good but I can't help but feel the experience is a little bit different. For me this game was a solid 9 on the original system, but this port comes up like a wasted opportunity to get it perfect and just as a "good enough" attempt at a port. It feels emulated at times, not really ported, also they didn't go any extra mile to make it at least a little bit more compelling.
Great music, quirky, very original concept still to this day, relaxing, unique, but feels like they just wanted to sell an emulated 'port' instead of really doing an effort to revive the Katamari experience.
I still give it a very high score becasue I hope this sells well enough, so Bandai Namco wants to make a new sequel (and soundtrack!) for this great IP.

Now Katamari Damacy is a weird game.
I like the concept, music and art in the game, however, the gameplay is a bit of a different story.
I know that Keita Takahashi (the creator of the series) did not have any prior experience in making games. This is just my oppinion but I find the gameplay frustrating and not very fun. Intretersting gaming history. FWI I am on the last level but I am

A game from my childhood, nostalgic and fun, looks very good with the upgrade.

Great game and probably one of the most different ones. The only that you can pick a cat with a ball.

Who’d guess that rolling a ball could be so much fun? If only we got more than just the first game for PS2 - a collection of all the installments would have been so much better.

It’s been 15 years since one of the most intriguing games of the sixth generation of consoles rolled in, and this remaster proves that the concept behind Katamari hasn’t aged a bit, same as the soundtrack and art direction. [02/2019, p.63]

Katamari Damacy is still very much worth playing, especially if you haven't done so before. It is disappointing how barebones the rerelease feels at the asking price of 30 dollars. Bandai Namco should have made Katamari's rerolling onto the scene just a little more spectacular, but even with those grievances, it is without a doubt a gem of a game. Katamari is still just as ridiculous and heartwarming as it was on the PlayStation 2.
