Good game but obviously a very lazy port. The game launches in windowed 1280x720 display settings, with no way to change it until you get past the 10-minute-long tutorial first which is super annoying. Language cannot be changed in game - I have to search online for a solution and found out that it only be changed in Steam settings or by editing the setting .ini file. In 2019. Seriously. Fun, weird little game. It is short and sweet, never becoming boring. The music is a highlight for me, being just as wacky as the game itself. The biggest problem I have with the game is how it is very easy to get stuck, and there is no way to re-spawn if you do. Had to restart a couple levels because of this, which was a bit annoying.

Who’d guess that rolling a ball could be so much fun? If only we got more than just the first game for PS2 - a collection of all the installments would have been so much better.

It’s been 15 years since one of the most intriguing games of the sixth generation of consoles rolled in, and this remaster proves that the concept behind Katamari hasn’t aged a bit, same as the soundtrack and art direction. [02/2019, p.63]

Katamari Damacy is still very much worth playing, especially if you haven't done so before. It is disappointing how barebones the rerelease feels at the asking price of 30 dollars. Bandai Namco should have made Katamari's rerolling onto the scene just a little more spectacular, but even with those grievances, it is without a doubt a gem of a game. Katamari is still just as ridiculous and heartwarming as it was on the PlayStation 2.
