The story is about famous Japanese superheroes such as Naruto, Dragon Ball's Sonogong, Monkey Druffy, Hunter X Hunter's Gon, and Wind Sword's frugal Himura Kensin. If you like games like this, you can have fun, but if you don't like it, it might not be that fun.

When I saw the trailer on E3, I was hooked. I love Naruto, Goku and Luffy but not this game. The fighting is fun... at first, the missions are repetitive. It feels like something's not right. Like a piece of the game is missing and might show up in some dlc or something. I'm not impressed Shonen. I feel like Dragon ball Xenoverse 1 and 2 were way more fun and interesting.

Jump Force, oh boy, what a letdown. As a fighting game featuring anime shounen characters, it had so much potential! The story, ugh, let's not even go there. It's downright garbage. The dialogues, also garbage. And those 1k grindy missions? You guessed it, garbage too. Not to mention the utter disappointment of lacking voice acting in 99% of the story; it feels like a major oversight.

Creating your protagonist should have been a highlight, a chance to immerse yourself in the world, but it falls flat and ends up feeling like a wasted opportunity. Plus, the fact that all three characters in a fight share the same health bar? Come on, it's another misstep that adds to the frustration.

And let's talk about the outfits. Clipping issues that remind you of free-to-play MMOs? Shameful. Absolutely shameful. The developers should have put in more effort to avoid these glaring issues.

To add to the list of grievances, there's that glorified wannabe-menu where your character runs like they're on ecstasy. Seriously, what were they thinking? It's just off-putting and makes you question the overall design choices.

Alright, in all fairness, if you're looking for some fun, throwing down with your favorite anime characters, then sure, I can recommend Jump Force for that alone. The fighting aspect has its moments. But beyond that, it's all mediocrity at best. The potential was there, but it fell short in almost every other aspect. It's a bitter pill to swallow for fans like me who expected so much more.

Jump Force is an intresting game to say the least, it's pretty much a blatant Xenoverse clone, I would even guess that it uses the same engine based on how the world is set up and the game mechanics they introduce to the player.

With that being said, there's also a lot missing from this game, for example, while you can change your outfit, none of them give you bonuses, you cannot buy healing items to take in to combat, the leveling system doesn't allow you to distribute skill points and there's no character sheet to see what your stats are like, because of that, I am seriously questioning if leveling up even does anything.

I like the concept of the game, I like how it looks more realistic in comparison to some of their other games. The game world on high looks genuinely beautiful.

At the end of the day though, the entire time I was playing Jump Force, I was finding myself wishing it was more like Xenoverse. I want to be able to collect equipment that matters, I want to be able to see my character's stats and have a say in how they grow over time. Jump Force feels like an incomplete product.

-Lackluster Optimization with the framerate dipping to 30-40 FPS during cutscenes.

When Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft revealed Jump Force at 2018's E3, I was hyped beyond belief. I eagerly anticipated the release and kept up with various updates to the roster and played the Open Betas.

When I finally had my hands on the product, I was disappointed beyond belief. Using a mix of Dragonball Xenoverse and the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games, this 3D arena fighter quickly grows repetitive with characters fighting similarly to one another (with a few exceptions).

While customizing your character and giving them the ability to lean different techniques from other characters is fun, the lack of optimization, lackluster roster and terrible story mode might put you off.

Wait for a sale and play Jump Ultimate Stars for the Nintendo DS instead.

The only thing the game understands from defense is to avoid blows depending on luck. The game has good protections against cheating, but the problem is that the npc in the game are illegally cheating, which is enough to alienate the user from the game. Is this the equivalent of a anime cash grab akin to a **** movie license game?

To be truthful I did not even finish the game since about 3 to 4 hours into the game the flashy and cool fight animations started to get really grinding. I do not know if this was because I am not really into fighting games in general, for example MK or the injustice franchise is a few that i have never played since just arcade type fighting does not do it for me.

This is mainly why I was a lot more disappointed since I expected much more beginning from the free form 3D movement I saw in the trailers up to a good story with all of our favorite anime and manga heroes. But OMG was this a shoddy failure of an attempt.

The story if there is any seemed dull, since I did not finish the game. As around about hour 2 into the game all the dialogue was jarringly just on screen text even though I could clearly see the characters lip movement.
I lost all interest in the game as soon as Light Yagami shows up to my delight with a proper sound plus dialogue cut-scene only for Ryuuk to have the same lazy on screen text dialogue. I just could not take anymore and I uninstalled the game right there.
I was tied into the game for a couple of hours enjoying the average fight mechanics and a little above average Ability animations but gamers like me need a better story and a gamer+fan of the anime sure as hell need a lot more than that. I don't think it should be that hard to come up with an original story for all these anime's to interact with each other.

Wait for a sale or something or maybe if we get a sequel the way it is meant to be.

The combat is beautiful and flashy enough to make any fighting game or JRPG fan feel satisfied and while the graphics may seem a bit stiff, none of that matters during the fast-paced matches where you'll probably pay more attention to the ratio between your HP bar and your enemy's. Jump force allows players to finally answer those age-old questions, such as Who would win in a fight between Goku and Naruto Uzumaki?, which have been the subject of debates in forum discussions, memes or video commentaries, and that alone should be enough of a reason to make fans of the genre interested in the game.

While a fighting game featuring a wide variety of Weekly Shonen Jump characters seems like a no-brainer, the shoddy execution and surprisingly limited roster hinder JUMP FORCE from being the all-star it wants to be.
