There is almost nothing good about the game, and, in fact, its one of the rare games Ive played where I actually got mad at the ending. So if you notice some extra venom in this review, its because Im writing it right after finishing the game.

Generally a frustrating and unrewarding game, with the ultimate anti-payoff. I can't even sincerely recommend it to even the most ardent Ripper historian.

Computer Gaming WorldEven if you tolerate Ripper's lack of interactivity because of its swiftly paced, absorbing story, the game's anticlimactic, unsatisfying finale will leave you feeling as frustrated as those original London police were back in 1888. [May 2004, p.89]
