Amazing indie game combining elements of Mirror's Edge and old school Counter Strike and Quake b-hopping and trick jumping. The motion is fluid, and the maps are intriguing and fun. Built on Unreal Engine 3, it features gorgeous visuals and smooth gameplay. The developer has stated that free DLC will be released, including the chance to make your own custom levels with a level editor. I'm really liking the fact that this game takes a brave approach to platform gaming. I've been in the lookout for a game of this type for long. It's made by a small indie team, the game is not huge and it sports just enough maps and content for it's price. Considering the developer stated free DLC (maps, modes and level editor) in the future, it's totally worth it's price. The gameplay is fun, the graphics are minimalistic, but fine. The soundtrack, however is excellent. The overall package definitely warrants the asking price (especially if you got it with one of the indie bundles). Personally, I those few dollars for the soundtrack alone, especially if you compare it with the usual asking price for music.

Completely not fun. Controls are weird, messy maps. ozgeek pretty much nailed it. It's really linear and frustrating game to play as your jump timing has to be spot on or you fall into oblivion. A lot. Pass on this one.

InMomentum is one of the most relaxing games i have ever played. The movement and its controls do take some time to get used to but they work really well. Especially since its a first person platformer. I was skeptic to say the least but i actually works really well. Visually the games clean design looks great and the soundtrack is actually really good. What is sad about this game is thatInMomentum is one of the most relaxing games i have ever played. What is sad about this game is that there isn't a whole lot of content. At the moment have i played through each map in the game several times in only 4 - 5 hours. The game really needs more content and that is the games biggest shortcoming. I have also yet been able to find a multiplayer opponent yet. I would still recommend this game since the free running is just so much fun. Expand

If you like to fail many times, with non-standard controls, then this is for you. Nice graphics but the maps are a messy skew of blocks, nothing interesting to see and even do. All you do is jump and if you jump at the wrong time, you tend to jump off down to hell many times which is unavoidable. I am very glad I only paid a dollar for this as part of a indie pack.

It has a Xotic kind of feel to it, but doesn't offer anything remotely that good. There's supposed to be a multiplayer element, but without any people playing it, this game doesn't have anything to deliver, except disappointment.

This game isn't for everyone, but what game is. Great music, beautiful visuals, varied stages, and those confounded leader boards will ensure you don't get bored of the game too quickly. If you enjoyed speed running other platformers, you should probably check it out. The only complaint I have is that it lacks a friends only view of the leader boards.

The controls are awkward, unusual, inadequate, badly implemented, and nearly impossible to use properly. Even if you rebind the keys, there is simply no way to execute multiple commands while using both the mouse and keyboard to move about the game world. Sometimes it is necessary to use power-ups, and having five fingers in each hand is simply not enough for inMomentum. Sometimes it is necessary to use power-ups, and having five fingers in each hand is simply not enough for inMomentum. I am certain that after excessive amounts of practice, it becomes possible, but I am not sure if the trouble is worth it. There are barely any sound effects of any kind. You will hear the occasional beeps and bloops every once in a while, but that is all besides the continuous uninspired music. The game does not give you any indication that you are actually running around and jumping. There is no feeling involved with the movement and game physics. It is as if you are gliding from place to place, then floating, gliding some more, all with odd physics that do not blend well with the game's setting or anything that makes any sense at all. Timing your glides and floats so that you land on the platforms requires mostly luck, as the controls are incredibly imprecise, and do not allow for the player to develop any real skills or techniques in order to accomplish each level rapidly and properly. inMomentum does not have any story or introduction as to why you are doing this gliding and floating around on platforms collecting orbs and doing time trials. There is no campaign of any kind to speak of, and the only aspect of the game that provides feelings of accomplishment are found in online leaderboards for the two limited game modes available. The game is so bare bones, in fact, that you will wonder if it was actually finished, and if the developer should actually be expecting money for it. inMomentum is a cheap, unfinished, unpolished, bore. Play it every once in a while for five to ten minutes at a time in order to maximize your fun with it. Expand

It's all about exercizing and trying the first moves until you get into the gameplay. After that you are gonna love it. The most impressive move is when you jump high to the sky and you fall down. That feels like you were live on a roller coaster! The game itself reminds me a very little bit on the good old game, named "SkyRoads" :-)
To summarize: Definitely worth a try but would wait for

This game had everything to catch my attention, but so poorly made it's not even funny. It should be stated that it might attract extreme platformer fans and speed runners willing to go over the fact that the controls are broken. It's not that the simplistic approach is bad, a game can have simple yet functional design. InMomentum is simple but it's not in the least functional. I simply can't excuse poor design. we all know indie developers are trying to convey their existence through nifty ideas and concepts. Those are more than welcome, but just because a game is simple doesn't mean it should be praised as "underground masterpiece" because it's rudimentary and obscure. I sure as hell won't compare it to Mass Effect in terms of production value, but it must serve its primary focus of providing a good gaming experience. InMomentum feels too unpolished for an idea that could work pretty well.

A nightmare. Feels like they took the Xen platforming sections of Half Life 1 and based a whole game around them. Clunky and awkward and miserable. Not something I could bear to force myself to play for any period of time.

A great idea with strong visuals hampered by half-realised mechanics and barely functioning online connectivity. [Jan 2012, p.54]
