Any Metroidvania title’s bread and butter lies in how much fun it is to explore its environments, constantly unlocking new abilities along the way that make returning to old areas just as full of discoveries as the first time through. While the game certainly isn’t shy about doling out new abilities to maneuver around with, it’s the actual areas themselves that are just not much fun to poke around in, in some cases seeming to stretch out interminably with one lengthy platforming challenge after another. Expertly executed designs, visuals, voiceovers, and musical score still make Indivisible a great joy to behold, but its shortcomings do take away some of the triumph of actually playing it.

With planned updates and content already being worked on, it probably won't be long before Indivisible crosses over into greatness.

It stands out as an RPG that's doing something genuinely different, and it brings joy to its clever platforming with the tune of an infectious soundtrack. For all its faults, Indivisible has its heart in the right place.

The first half of Indivisible is a somewhat fun romp, the second is pure disappointment.

Indivisible initially impresses with a tight package that visually stuns but after hours of repetition and ease, I’d rather take some time apart.

It’s hard to truly dislike a game that tries to meld pre-existing ideas into something new, and this is true with Indivisible. However, it’s also hard to truly enjoy a game that doesn’t fully succeed in any of its key areas, and unfortunately this also applies to Indivisible.

  1. Indivisible may lack the number-crunching aspects of Disgaea, but it embodies the same sense of earnest cheer. It won’t change your life, but it’s a pleasant romp, extremely pretty, and clearly made with a lot of love. All good stuff.

terrible keyboard controls. terrible menu for rebinding, ONLY PAD PROMPTS INSTEAD OF KEYS ARE SHOWN and you don't overwrite the keys whenterrible keyboard controls. terrible menu for rebinding, ONLY PAD PROMPTS INSTEAD OF KEYS ARE SHOWN and you don't overwrite the keys when rebinding so it makes some keys do two things at once. due to this and only gampad prompts the controls are incredibly confusing. this is a terrible job, an insult to pc players and incredible incompetence.

also the movies and backgrounds are fantastic, but the characters look like they're drawn and animated with adobe flash... terrible, cheap style. awful.

    avoid this game.

    very very fun

exploration is a blast, the overworld abilities all feel crazy powerful and make for some very unique puzzle-like platforming. definitely the high part of the game

combat is fun, very customizable thanks to the multiple characters you take control of. you have plenty of ways to avoid enemies and engage with them in the overworld, which helps with the issue of a lack of a 'flee from battle' button.

checkpoints are frequent, and the save system is smartly implemented, allowing you to reload almost any save made on the same slot

very fun writing and story. entertaining characters who vibe off of each other nicely, plus a couple very fitting twists and turns. wordy but lighthearted, with the occasional pinch of seriousness in particular when it comes to Ajna's character arc.

stunning animations full of life, lovingly designed characters, and a slappin' soundtrack. not perfect - there's some glitches here and there and a few other minor issues - but a great game that honestly just keeps getting better the more you play it

Very pretty game. Core combat look, exploration gameplay and writing is mediocre.
