    This is not a terrible game. In fact, I think some of the gameplay elements and quality of life functions are better than in Breath of the Wild. The combat feels really good. I enjoyed the puzzles, though thought they went way overboard on some of them as they were just too long and repetitive. I thought the graphics were good and had no bugs or glitches during my playthrough. The musicThis is not a terrible game. I do think the game needed villages of some sort as the landscape starts to feel empty and soulless without people to interact with like in BotW. Where this game truly fails is the dialogue and cutscenes.

    In the cutscenes, most of the voice acting is pretty bland and sounds like a bunch of amateurs trying to use Greek accents. What’s really strange are the constant pauses in the cutscenes. Basically, the characters will pause and stand around at times between or at the end of their dialog, not saying or doing anything. It is really strange and I can't think of any other game I have seen this bug in. It is like the Editors didn't know how to edit the cutscenes properly. It has a very “Uncanny Valley” feeling. What makes the whole thing even more unfortunate is the writing for the cutscenes and narration.

    This has to be some of the worst writing I have seen in a game. It is cringe-inducing and annoying. They continually make really bad jokes throughout the entire game and the narration is like listening to two entitled old men complain. If they are not complaining or making bad jokes, they are talking about drinking and doing drugs; it completely breaks the immersion of the game. They will inexplicably have characters come back to life or show up out of nowhere and hand-wave some excuse on how their there.

    The dialog between Fenyx and the gods is really bad. They will make the gods out to be jerks but have Fenyx justify their actions, it doesn't make any sense and is especially confusing with their conversations with Aries.

    But the worse part of the story has to be near the end. They try to pull an eye-rolling twist right out of a bad Shyamalan film on you. I'll try not to spoil anything but you are pretty much told that rather than the Link or Kratos type character you think you have been playing, you are actually a Mary-Sue right out of Disney Star Wars. It was so lame as they try to negate all the hard work you put into solving puzzles and fighting bosses. From start to finish the writing is just atrocious and ruins the rest of the game.

    I think there are good parts of the game - I even liked the Ancient Greece setting and thought they could do similar games using Norse and Native American Mythology. Just get it as far away from these writers and editors as possible.    … Expand

    This is just AC Valhalla with comic art style, you don't have to play it, because you already have if you played any Ubisoft games in recent years.

    An open-world action-adventure game, you could be forgiven for thinking that this is a knock-off of Breath of the Wild by Ubisoft. However, after playing it for a while, it becomes obvious that the game is simultaneously a big step forward AND a big step back from Breath of the Wild.

    With a world chock full of puzzles, puzzle and dungeon design that becomes more sophisticated and    An open-world action-adventure game, you could be forgiven for thinking that this is a knock-off of Breath of the Wild by Ubisoft. However, after playing it for a while, it becomes obvious that the game is simultaneously a big step forward AND a big step back from Breath of the Wild.

    With a world chock full of puzzles, puzzle and dungeon design that becomes more sophisticated and challenging as the game goes on, and increasingly more difficult and dangerous enemies, the game manages to establish that it learned from Breath of the Wild’s often empty overworld, instead putting in large amounts of stuff to do that evolve as you get further and further into the game, giving you a greater variety of challenges to overcome and allowing you to upgrade your existing abilities to overcome new challenges.

    Gone is the weapon durability system; instead, you have a sword, an axe, and a bow, which you can swap between different versions of for different bonuses, and upgrade over the course of the game with materials you find. While this takes away the ability to grab a powerful weapon off a powerful enemy and temporarily be overpowered, it leads to an overall better game experience. This, combined with your combat-ready abilities, makes combat in Fenyx much better and less awkward than Breath of the Wild; you are faster and more fluid, but so are your enemies, and it ends up being a step forward mechanically from Breath of the Wild’s clunky mechanics.

    Instead of the clunky weapon durability system of Breath of the Wild, you instead upgrade your weapons and abilities directly, making all the random things you’re doing actually matter.

    Indeed, mechanically, Fenyx is a step forward in almost every way.

    Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the world.

    Breath of the Wild was good at evoking a sense of wonder, and of giving you neat places to go. Fenyx’s world is nowhere near as interesting. And this is a huge problem; the single best thing about Breath of the Wild was its sense of discovery, but Fenyx is lacking in it. It gives you the ability to focus your vision, but instead of the organic highlighting of Zelda, or even giving you the ability to reveal things by looking at them, you can look right through walls and find things. Instead of the excellent landmarks of Zelda, many of the locations feel very unnatural and like they are there because it is a game, and don’t stick out nearly as well as landmarks.

    And this is a big problem, because it was one of Breath of the Wild’s biggest selling points, and the game just fumbles it.

    The game has a stronger narrative focus that it fumbles as well: with Prometheus and Zeus chatting to each other the whole game as a voice over semi-narration as you explore the world and restore four gods to their rightful forms, reacting to what you are doing and where you are going in-world, with the game working with the history of the Greek gods to add flavor to the world. Unfortunately, there’s three big problems:

    1) The gods are a bunch of narcissistic jerks – which, while authentic to Greek mythology, gets kind of repetitive when everyone in the game is either the straight man (Fenyx, Prometheus) or a narcissistic jerk that they have to put up with (everyone else).
    2) The game is trying to be funny, but because it only has a relatively limited repertoire of tones, it struggles with it.
    3) Because we already know the Greek gods, we know what is going on, robbing the plot of a sense of discovery, tying back into the sense of discovery that feels missing from this game.

    All in all, then, it’s a good-ish game that falls well shy of greatness. While Breath of the Wild felt kind of bad about being a bunch of checkmarks to mark off, this game takes that to a whole new level, and while it’s checkboxes are far better, the actual sense of grandeur and exploration is worse, and the fact that the gods you are helping are all horrible people makes you question whether it is even the right thing to be helping them in the first place.

    All in all, while I liked playing this more than I liked Breath of the Wild, it lacked the latter game’s charm and core pull. If the poor mechanics of Breath of the Wild were the biggest offputting thing about it for you, then this is a very reasonable alternative; however, there are far better open-world games out there.    … Expand

    Fun game, but a lot of it is inconsistent. The graphics are nice but somewhat weird, the voice acting is really not consistent and the gameplay is fun MOST of the times. The story is also average at best.

    I had high hopes for this game because it looks a lot like BOTW, but it's definitely not there yet.
    Feels like AC Odyssey but less interesting and smaller. As others have said it, everything feels like a chore, the game quickly becomes boring, whereas when playing a game like BOTW it fills you with wonder. What a shame :/

It is fun, but ultimately falls to the same trappings as other Ubisoft open world games, endless item collection held behind small pointless puzzles and combat sequences lazily mixed together.     That being said, the boss fights are fun, the game mechanics are fun, and if you do not focus on the endless collections and side quests and play it as a linear story focusing on the main story quests, you will end up enjoying it more. This ultimately highlights the issues in the game's design and why I can't give it a score higher than a 7.    … Expand

    Inmortal Fenyx es un juego de plataformas, puzles, combate y exploración con unos toques de rol. Bonito y divertido, mucho mejor que Zelda BOTW (un juego similar pero completamente diferente).

    While i love AC:Odyssey and this game is supposedly made by same people i quite disliked the game. its very pretty and fun first few hours, then its just repetetive grind in an essentialy empty world ( there is lots to do, but its same minigames, combat, etc. no people, interesting quests beyond main story or anything ). I realy suffered through those parts. The combat is good, writing is sometimes exceptionally good, sometimes horrific. About half way through i just wanted to finish the game and didnt know it will take so long. Design is good, visuals good, premise good, but its just cartoony, watered down, way more grindy and boring version of AC:Odyssey ( and i I am fully aware of how repetetive some aspects of Odyssey were, but at least you had choice how to approach them )… Expand

    The game is beautiful and fun and there's lot to do, and even tho it's a classic Ubisoft game (unlock a portion of the map from up a tower, mark points of interest on the map and go check them, find chests and puzzles etc and semi bosses etc etc a hundread times, them go to    smells like BotW, but actually doesn't

The cartoony style feels cheap and childish. Play Assassins Creed instead, it's still repetitive and not very creative, but at least the world and characters are more believable. Or even better play breath of the wild, which Fenxy RisingUbisoft style repetitiveness.     Zeus needs help, the greek gods are in trouble, all of the mortals are stone.. except for one of course.. you… you creae your character and its off to helping zeus and the rest of the gods in this open world puzzle game… and if there weren’t such a large emphises on the puzzle part, this game as series has such great potential… for starters this world is beautiful, though there are crashing issues is you play in pretty mode vs the run better mode on the playstations 5… here youll be running around, collecting items to craft consumables, find gear, and collect shards to upgrade your gear and character, run around and complete tasks for the different gods and gain new abilities.. if it stopped there I would be fine, run around this opwen world with sections that feel and look different enough reperesenting each god you help… all while the game hilariously narrates for you… a real highlight… I could’ve loved immortals fenyx.. but its insistence to try and be a breath of a wild clones, sucked away all of its charm and left immortals fenyx risings feeling like a good.. yet soulless game… its cookie cutter, and what were left with if unfun combat, and boring drug out puzzles.. the vaults are half of the game and theyre just awful.. they have their moments of being fun brain teasesers… but these puzzles show up way too frequently in your 13 plus hour journey… and I dreaded them every time.. im not a big fan of puzzles in general… but when theres essentially puzzle rooms vs environmental puzzles, I hate it even more… just let me build up my charcters, sneak around, tame and kill things while my boy zeus makes awful jokes.. that’s all I wanna do… but fenyx rising sortve blows its load for me.. if you’ve played journey to the savage planet.. it’s the same kind of thing… youre smacked with charm, mystery and immersion.. and then everything else feels lackluster in ocmparision to the greatness the adventure starts with…
    While I can appreciate that this is objectively a good game that plenty will love… for me this was a game that kept throwing school work at me when all I wanted to do was play at recess… and once I get out to recess its like oh, its raining.. youre playing in the gym today, not the playground like youre used to doing.. meaning that this world is just a chore to even get around in.. the whole stamina whil you run, climb, swim, and soar thing can be fun if done right.. its not done right here.. its annoying and just makes traversal not fun.. . but I am again just speaking for myself.. for me the combat gt stale fast, the traversal becomes annoying fast, and the puzzles get annoying boring and overwhelming fast… what am I doing playing this?
    for a lot of people though theyre hearing this review being all like. Yeha this is what I want, imam buy this right now.. I get it.. tis a good game, just not for me.

    I really wanted to like this game.
    It looks gorgeous, it's fun, a lot works, BUT everything feels like a chore. There's no adventure, no exploration, even if you don't use Far Sight, there's that feeling. BOTW had the nuance that you don't necessarily get more powerful, but wiser, in here it's all about the stats.
    Looks good on the surface, and the gamer experience is too weak.

Benim gibi bulmaca özürlü birisi için bile basitlerdi. Bulmacalar oyunun combat mekaniğinden ve hikayesinden daha başarılıydı. En azından ilk yarısında. Çünkü bir süre sonra sıktı. Çünkü genel mantığı hep aynıydı. DiğerBulmaca oyunlarını ve oyunların içinde bulmaca geçen kısımlarını hiç sevmem. Bu oyunda ise yüzlerce bulmaca var. Buna rağmen bulmacalı kısımları sevdim. Çünkü genel mantığı hep aynıydı. Diğer yandan oyunda çok çabuk güçlendim ve bir süre sonra boss'ları bile hasar almadan yenmeye başladım. Daha da kötüsü oyun size yeni combat yetenekleri vermediği ve düşmanlar da çeşitlenmediği için oyun ilk yarısından sonra sıkıcı olmaya başladı.
    Senaryo ise günümüz ponçik havasına çok uygun. Bütün oyun boyunca bütün tanrılarla girdiğimiz "Kusurların mı var, hiç önemli değil, seni güçlü kılan bu kusurların zaten, kimsenin sana bir şey demesine izin verme" muhabbetleriydi. Bir değil iki değil, bir yerden sonra o da sıktı. Son boss savaşında tanrıların bize yardıma geldiği yerler çok kötü yapılmış. Animasyon giriyor ama ne düşmana bir hasar veriyor ne de beraber savaşabiliyoruz. Aile konsepti vermeye çalışmışlar ama tutmamış.
    Oyunun macera ve keşif hissini beğendim. Uzaktan gördüğünüz bir dağa veya adaya gitmek istiyorsunuz. Gittiğinizde ya bir hazine ya da bir boss ile karşılaşıyorsunuz. İstediğiniz zaman istediğiniz yere gidebilirsiniz. Tabii güçsüzseniz ölürsünüz o ayrı. Ama oyun sizi sınırlandırmıyor.

    Bu macera hissini artırmak için açık dünyada npc'ler ve onlardan aldığımız güzel hikayeli yan görevler olsaymış keşke. Böyle epey boş bir dünya olmuş.

    Craft sistemi basit olmuş. Bu oyuna iyi gitmiş bence. Ancak keşke combat skilleri daha fazla olsaydı. Çünkü hepsini elde etmek çok kolay ve bir yerden sonra bayıyor. Bunun asıl nedeni ise silah çeşitliliği olmaması. kılıç, balta ve okunuz var. bunlar değişebiliyor ama sadece istatistik olarak. Onun dışında farklı silahlar eklenerek (balyoz, çift el hançer, uzun kılıç, mızrak gibi) oynanış çok daha çeşitli ve keyifli olabilirmiş.

    Oyunun mizahı fena değildi. Bu mizahi yönünü genel hikayeye de verselerdi keşke. Kişisel gelişim muhabbetlerine tercih ederdim.

    Kısacası oyun hemen her departmanda belli bir seviyeye kadar iyi ama hiçbirinde o çıtayı aşamamış. Vasat veya vasatın bir tık üstü.    … Expand

    It took 25 hours for me to finish the game. I'm an amateur player and it was a lot of fun for me. Most of the players didn't like the game because they compared the game with Zelda. It will change lots of thing if we compare games like that. I admire Greek mythology so this game is just for me to play and enjoy. But it repeats itself all the time. All of the puzzles are the sameIt took 25 hours for me to finish the game. I'm an amateur player and it was a lot of fun for me.     It's not a bad game, it's just not a great one, and virtually everything in it has already been done better in other games. For a game that was hyped as the ground breaking next generation of video games for so many years that is profoundly disappointing.

    The graphics are nice but there aren't that many options for tweaking them. Ultrawide support is great. Art style is nice but I found the art of the gods a little to childish looking.

    Plenty of puzzles but at a certain point you don't need to do all of them. Found myself skipping the last 1/3 of the vaults because I didn't need them to beat the game.

    Overall, the game is open world, but fails to feel like an adventure. It is a decent time waster, and some of the puzzles will make your brain tick, but because the character progression feels unbalanced, you ultimately loose incentive to complete all the puzzles.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. About twenty hours in, I was absolutely certain I would like the game more than Breath of the Wild, and while that still might be somewhat true after beating the game, the last ten hours really drained a lot of the goodwill out of me.

    The optimization on PC isn't great. I run better looking games smoother than I ran Fenyx Rising, and I did finally get it to a point where the game was stable enough to play comfortably and looked good enough to not be off-putting, but it's a small nightmare of trying to juggle the settings just right. I feel like this is a problem with the Anvil engine, so just a small warning, if you're on low or medium hardware, you might be in for a slightly subpar experience from a technical standpoint.

    That being said, even with the disappointing graphical quality, the game is still visually charming. All four main areas are distinct in their colors and themes. Since comparisons to Breath of the Wild are inevitable, I like looking at where I'm at in Fenyx Rising more than I do in Zelda, even if it's a bit uglier in the former.

    The story is a lighthearted and simple affair, but the writing has to be some of the worst I've seen in recent memory. I laughed at one joke in the entire game, and it wasn't from the "comedic relief" duo of Zeus and Prometheus. Their entire schtick throughout the game was more of a headache than anything, and I don't really understand how it got so bad. The writer for the game wrote for Assassin's Creed II and Far Cry 3. Those aren't masterclasses in video game writing by any means, but Ezio and his story are still fondly remembered, and Far Cry 3 is the most engaging game in that series. It feels like a lazy, entry-level script to get Joss Whedon's approval. Every character is just sarcastic quips, barring Fenyx and Zeus at the very end. Fenyx is mostly endearing, even when the underdog thing runs its course by the time you've crushed every mythical being underfoot with almost zero struggle. Zeus is just straight up a jerk and the game doesn't pretend he isn't, but he gets some rushed development at the end that pays it off well enough.

    The combat does something I like way more than Breath of the Wild. It got rid of that awful weapon degradation system, so you aren't constantly needing to pick up random things off the ground and you aren't trying to save the really strong weapon for a special occasion. The combat is entirely in your hands, and while that takes away some of the unique ways you could kill enemies in Breath of the Wild, it makes for a much more consistent gameplay loop. Your Godly Powers are all fun to use and can aid in some of the puzzles, so there is a little bit of a creative spark there.

    The unfortunate part is that Ubisoft didn't learn from the worst parts about the puzzles in Breath of the Wild. There's just too many and they're too boring. The physics engine also has a tendency to misbehave at inopportune times, which can make puzzles more annoying than fun. They're not the worst things in the world, but if the puzzle total was reduced by about a quarter or so, the game would be better for it.

    The exploration is pretty enjoyable and I like how everything feels more tightly compacted against Breath of the Wild. As stated before, Breath of the Wild just felt too big to be enjoyable for me to traverse through. I understand that it really drove home the atmosphere of loneliness, but it really could have done that with a smaller map size. Fenyx Rising improves upon that by having more stuff compacted into a smaller space, and outside some overdesigned clutter and too many checklist tasks, I prefer how it handles the model.

    Then I got to King's Peak. That entire section was so unfun for me to play through, I debated just dropping the game right there, figuring I was close enough to the final boss and I had a pretty solid guess at how the story would end. It takes all the fun and creative ways you use to get around to put you on what is largely a linear exposition dump.

    There are times where the visual effects become so much that it's hard to see which way is the correct way forward to advance the narrative, so going in a completely wrong way and getting sent back to who knows where on the mountain was annoying. Ubisoft, you gave me the tools to explore and the stamina to do it, so why are you taking away arguably the best element of the game? Get rid of the freezing stamina draining effect you arbitrarily slapped on certain parts of the area and just let me explore.

    That part was so bad for me that it nearly washed away twenty-five hours of fun I had with it. I ended up gritting my teeth and forcing my way through it, but it was the least fun part of the game for me. When I booted up the game to finish it, I was prepared to give it a 7 or maybe even an 8, but that last area brought it down to a 6 for me. I got fed up and wanted to finish Zelda quickly too, but at least that gave me some freedom in its last area.    … Expand

    Fun but simple gameplay, tho it has nothing really that original other than the great storytelling. It is a great fundation for a new franchise.

    Immortals Fenyx Rising was a strange game for me I really liked some features but also disliked a lot. I'm a bit of a Assassin's Creed fan so when I heard about Immortals it really intrigued me. Now first off we'll talk about the positives.     Now the negatives... I really disliked the humour and cheesy dialogue I also lost interest in the repetitive puzzles and vaults around the open word and I was excited to see and use the upgrade system but sadly that also disappointed me and was very lackluster.

    Overall my experience was okay I didn't find any bugs in my time playing and it ran well on my computer. I'm just disappointed I guess it didn't really keep me hooked and I got bored fast.    … Expand

    Decent game, similar to Odyssey as it's the same dev team.
    + Good combat
    + Beautiful visuals

    +/- it doesn't do anything exceptional, but all elements are decently good. it's a very generic, forgettable game

    - Too many cutscenes, unskippable
    - Puzzles are tiring and bothersome rather than difficult

    It's a good game and makes fun. I would rate it higher if there were no f****** daily quests. Ubisoft, just stop it. And the distant vision is annoying but okay.

    Immortals: Fenyx Rising takes Ubisoft in a new direction, different from that of Assassin’s Creed. The game still utilizes an open-world, the way it goes about it is very different. While it doesn’t bring anything new or innovative to the table of action-adventures, Immortals is a short and charming colorful journey into Greek mythology.

    Overall, Immortals is an enjoyable game. Its visual elegance, witty dialogue, engaging puzzles, grand exploration and the sheer amount of love for the source material demonstrated by the devs leads to a game that, though it fails to be as singularly unique or innovative as the games it takes influence from, is still a game that's about as good as the sum of its parts. The combat, exploration and world-building all lead to a great relaxing weekend game. Sit back, relax and take a break from the gritty dregs of modern AAA games. It may not be the main Thanksgiving-day course, but it's still a fantastic post-dinner turkey salad.
