Larger, funnier and much better sequel of an already great survival game. Only basics remained the same and humor too and it works as an excellent bonus. A textbook example of what a good sequel should look like.

It's not revolutionary, but the multiplayer focus makes it more enjoyable. If you liked the first one, this sequel won't disappoint you.

How To Survive 2 is a pleasant game, especially if you play it with your friends. The game shows a more structured gameplay and well-designed crafting system. However, there is a general lack of information during the first hours, and the resources - especially food and water - sometimes are really hard to find.

How to Survive 2 is a great game if you are looking for a soft and easy experience of survival... but it is very simple (in technical terms). A good choice would be to play with a friend using the cooperative mode.

How to Survive 2 could be a really good zombie slasher. Unfortunately every aspect of the game falls short or is superficial. It lacks depth, a good story, pacing – you name it. But if you have a few friends over you can overlook some of the shortcomings.

The lack of a narrative storyline and lack of depth of the quests really hurts this game. The quests rarely vary from one another. The leveling progression system is broken in this game. It wasn't thought out very well. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. Full Review »

Могли бы сделать идеальную вторую часть, но всё испортили отвратительной экономикой. Удивительно, что нету монетизации. Попросту всё завязано на унылом и однообразном гринде.

Having not played the 1st game I can't really compare but I enjoyed this enough to also buy the 1st game.
The first thing that sprung to mind when I played this was how much it reminded me of Zombie Revenge from the arcades/dreamcast which is no bad thing.

Ok the hand on hand combat and moves are a little slicker and more accessible in ZR but this is quite a neat niche and I have oftened wanted a game like ZR with a story.

That said this is not ZR and there is a lot more to it, I have not played enough yet to give a fully honest opinion but my first experience has been good, the biggest negative is that the game just expects you to know what you are doing, I'm not a dumb gamer but a few times I've been wandering around going backwards and forwards trying to work out what the game wants me to do (before running out of energy), not talking when you are in missions i've not struggled with taht but the in between bits, like how do you fast transport to areas? I bring them up but can't figure out what to press to access them (if that is even how it works!) or there was a mission he told me to go to the forest and find some guy to help me with a few missions, but umm where? I just wandered around for ages.

Then there is also no guidance in how you actually setup a camp, he just tells you to build this and put it down, so if you don't know what you doing you end up building your camp in the worst possible place.

So on the upside its fun, the misions are interesting, and the combat works pretty well but the designers need to cater more for people new to the product with more discreptive dialogue or hints and tips.
No one likes an easy game but at the same if you don't give players some level of guidance they will get bored and frustrated real quick just trying to figure out something that is probably really simple before actually playing half of it!

Still would recommend, especially at the current price!
