    Too much bugs. Sometimes music stops sounding. The only good thing is the concept art. I dont recomend this game at all.

    A nearly perfect game if you are a HP fan, otherwise it's a polarized yet decent gaming experience. This game has a detailed world to enjoy, well designed, that feels alive, and a great music score and atmosphere. However, it has some of the worst characters I've ever seen in a video game. Poor story telling, repetitive missions, that almost ruin the experience. The game stops being funA nearly perfect game if you are a HP fan, otherwise it's a polarized yet decent gaming experience. This game has a detailed world to enjoy, well designed, that feels alive, and a great music score and atmosphere. However, it has some of the worst characters I've ever seen in a video game. Poor story telling, repetitive missions, that almost ruin the experience. The game stops being fun after 15h or so, so for 60$ it's a no-go. I only recommend it if you are a HP fan, otherwise wait for a price drop around 30-35$… Expand

    Awesome, amazing, genre defining. Truly enjoy the castle, the hunt for hidden collectibles, the combat the spells, the characters, everything! It's a masterpiece.

    We all have to put out there for this studio to know: This game is so **** good! The love and hard work that I am seeing is mindblowing! I literally lost myself exploring the castle, didn't know where I was, from where I came, but was a feeling of lost that I didn't experienced with a game for like 5 years.     I'm 30 hours in and while I do love the game, the performance issues can't be ignored. I'm running a 3080 10gb, 8700k, 16gb DDR4, m.2. I think I've spent as much time watching YouTube videos and reading Reddit posts searching for a solution as I have playing the game, but nothing seems to work. Frame drops and stuttering are constant and I've had to restart the game multiple times due toI'm 30 hours in and while I do love the game, the performance issues can't be ignored. I'm running a 3080 10gb, 8700k, 16gb DDR4, m.2. I think I've spent as much time watching YouTube videos and reading Reddit posts searching for a solution as I have playing the game, but nothing seems to work. Frame drops and stuttering are constant and I've had to restart the game multiple times due to the floor disappearing or just freezing altogether. This game would be a 9/10 for me, but I refuse to ignore poor optimization. I now understand why console players were so frustrated by the launch of Cyberpunk 2077.… Expand

    Few small issues like changing your voice from the default makes it sound a bit robotic, and you don't unlock additional spell slots until you have over 8 spells making it feel clunky before then (ect.). There is also a problem where it underestimates your capacity of your hardware, but once you get past these everything from the gameplay to story to graphics to progression    Really good.

    I thought it was a good game until I met a stupid bug (HL-851) that blocked me from continuing my mission. This bug has affected thousands of players but WB and AS are still ignoring it. What a joke!

This review is NOT objective, but frankly the real-life consequences of financially enabling and endorsing a multimillionaire in their dangerous bigotry is more important than any sort of "objective" game review. The only reason I've change it from 0 to 1 is to acknowledge the hard work of the non-bigoted staff.

    * Extensive history of anti-LGBTQIA+ views (yes, not just the transphobia)
    * Racist dog whistles - "slavery is good, actually" via the elves, stereotypical names for all of the very few BIPOC character, antisemitism via the goblins ("large hooked noses, obsession with gold, greedy/untrustworthy" as with many Jewish caricatures, parallels between goblin rebellion and the Fettmilc riots (Jews were exiled and executed 1612 - 1614), kidnapping children for blood is adjacent to the fearmongering myth of blood libel, shoving non-kosher gorgonzola into a shofar-like horn that was a prized artificact of the goblins), major devs on HL were known Gamergate and right-wingers in online spaces which Warner Bros KNOWINGLY shrugged off when concerns were raised during product.
    * Sexism and fatphobia (thin/beautiful = good and fat/ugly = bad or incompetent especially for women)
    * Ableism - Joanne believes that autistic people are not capable of making their own decisions and doing what will make them happy ( in relation to transphobia due to a notable overlap between the two communities)

    Players are free to do as they wish, but please beware that Joanne has admitted herself that she sees the financial success of the Harry Potter franchise as validation for her dangerous views. Her fans and paying consumers are being used for social and political clout, and she will turn on you just as easily as she did on the above marginalised groups the minute you've worn out your usefulness to her.    … Expand

    Seems like a decent game but holy crap the optimization is dreadful. Severe fps issues on my rtx 3070.In cinematics the background keeps going blurry and clear again. Also how can a game in 2023 not have playstation controller button prompts. Its hard to find a new game that doesn't do that... Wait for them to fix performance issues before you buy!

    Beautiful, captivating and absorbing game. I play on PC and it runs great. FPS most of the time is about 100. If it dip it goes down to 80fps which is still great.

    Maravilloso título hecho por y para los fans del mundo mágico. No había visto en muchísimo tiempo tanto mimo en cada pequeño detalle de un juego.
    A nivel técnico me parece impecable, ojalá todos los triples AAA salieran igual de pulidos, la historia es entretenida, la exploración fascinante y el toque de RPG aún sin ser muy profundo le da el toque justo para hacer un todo increíble.

    I love how the flying works. I love how the world looks. I love the music. I love to explore this fascinating world. I love the combat. The Bad Stuff: who was this story made for? I know the books    The Good Stuff: This game captured the harry potter world so perfectly. I mean the material world, not the people. Every single gameplay design is perfect.

    The Bad Stuff: who was this story made for? I know the books were for kids. But those kids are now grown-up dads at this point. Why does the story of this game feel like it was written for kids or teenagers? Devs didn't know their audience?
    The next con goes hand in hand with this. Every single dialogue is either > “be good dialogue” or “be a bit less good but still good dialogue”. Where is the option to be bad or to be neutral? This makes the game more boring and stale.
    Side quests are barely any quests. Come on, you put so much effort into making this world but forget to make dialogue enjoyable. Every single NPC other than the main plot characters talks like a **** robot.
    Oh, don't even forget about the **** woke stuff. "oh no our games won't do good if we don't have a trans or **** in it." **** disgusting. No need to shove it in the face. Like wtf?
    The performance is **** af. Which machine did they test it on? **** supercomputers? People are still rocking the 1060s and 1650s. And they make a game that can't run on low smoothly. Fps drop and stuttering are a feature in this game. The mod community somehow put some tape on this wound.    … Expand

The game is beautiful, yes, it's the game that all fans want, yes, but the performance in the PC version is very bad, frame drops, stuttering, etc, by now we all know that. The video game industry should have more respect for consumers, I bought the deluxe version, almost finishing the main story, and with a badI want to give this game a 9/10, but I can't. My conscience does not allow me. First, there are stuttering and drops to even 10 fps; however they are limited in some areas and thus bearable. Second, some quests are bugged in a way that ruins completely the experience. Third, last but not least, a quest got bugged in a way that it become impossible to beI would've given 7-8, if it wasn't for the terrible optimization and the unacceptable bugs that affect the game. First, there are stuttering and drops to even 10 fps; however they are limited in some areas and thus bearable. Second, some quests are bugged in a way that ruins completely the experience. Third, last but not least, a quest got bugged in a way that it become impossible to be completed; so, I am stucked there. I tried to reinstall the game but nothing. I tried to load previous saving, but they all bring to the same result. So I am now forced to restart the game after 15 hours of play and it is unacceptable. That's why I put 0: terrible optimization and unacceptable bugs that totally compromise the experience… Expand

    After 30hrs of playing i can tell you there are so boring side activities, only timewasters. Too long animation scenes that extened gameplay. 90% of Hogwarts teachers/shop vendors/ other npcs in this game are some colorful rainbow indians/africans/chinesee/japanesee. I have no immersion to british 19th century or HP world at all. Even side quest about tritons in the lake smells with this ****

    This is also the best Harry Potter/JK Rowling related work since the original books (I've seen the Fantastic Beasts and Curious Child etc and this blows them out of the water, and even the HP movies).     I've turned down the graphical settings and play at medium but it runs without issue for me. I've got ancient gaming PC and don't meet the recommended specs. So that's not bad.

    I've not completed the game but the story is good so far (about half way through), the side quests are reasonable but hardly ground breaking.

    Combat is tight and involves some tactics, better than expected compared to previous HP games.

    Music is pretty good, voices are a bit weird (if you don't leave it on default pitch).

    Great game from an otherwise ailing IP and a developer who really don't put out this kind of quality in the past.    … Expand

    Metacritic is calling all 7's a Mixed result for Hogwarts Legacy instead of Positive as they do for EVERYTHING else.

    The game is both stable and has a lot of enjoyable gameplay, as well as covering all the major elements and areas of the movies. It is not perfect, but is far better than most games today.

    The amount of detail and world building within this game is second to none! I've never enjoyed just exploring and marveling at the small details like I have in this game. The controls felt fluid and easy to dive into and the story was compelling enough to make me motivated in continuing to play through.

    Very well done.

    An amazing game. If you're a Potterhead this is a must-play, and it's good enough to stand on its own merits as a really good open world action rpg. Thanks to the developers for actually putting love and care into their game, it shows!

    This is the first game I’ve played in a long time where I lost track of time. Before I knew it I was 5 hours in and felt like I barely scratched the surface. The visuals are amazing, controls feel good so far, some stutter issues that I hope they work out with a patch. Overall, solid 9 out of 10.

    Everything about it beyond the universe it takes place in is literally bog standard open world #98573-B, it could give Ubisoft a run for their money.

    I'd probably feel more charitably about it if it was an outright bad game, but it just sinks into this gray space between good and bad by being entirely unremarkable if you've played even a single open world game before it. At least it came out early in the year so as to be out of the way for games that might be actually worth it and won't be bankrolling a sentient trash-bag? It's disappointing.

    outstanding game with outstanding effects the combat needs to get used to the story is interesting and brilliant open world with a lot to do you can do whatever you want the character customization is a bit dull but good the different designs of clothes are Wide and good looking different wand choice is wide and overall perfect and true to the books

    Fantastic game. Nails the feeling and tone of the Harry Potter world and, unlike the most recent films based in that world, it actually creates a world you are excited to be in. There are some performance issues on PC with NVIDIA games for people who prepurchased, but hopefully those will be patched.

    First of all, I didn't like the side missions in the game. Secondly, this is Hogwarts School of Wizardry, I mean 6-7 teachers and not 100 students in total, preventing us from entering the universe. However, the Fighting mechanics are excellent, I haven't seen such good hitting feeling in a long time.

    Alright, so I finished the game in around 50 hours of gameplay (near completion, might take a couple more hours to fully complete) and the game itself graphically speaking is just gorgeous. There are a lot of details, magic floats everywhere (as it SHOULD) and it is a very magical world to explore. But that is just it, exploring. Exploring isn't that much fun especially when you collectAlright, so I finished the game in around 50 hours of gameplay (near completion, might take a couple more hours to fully complete) and the game itself graphically speaking is just gorgeous. There are a lot of details, magic floats everywhere (as it SHOULD) and it is a very magical world to explore. But that is just it, exploring. Exploring isn't that much fun especially when you collect stuff that is almost identical to the other stuff you've already collected or still need to complete.
    Some parts feel a bit tedious and is more like a drag than enjoyable gameplay; The enemy types are nothing to really talk about. They do not switch their skillset up, sometimes an attack here and there, can be challenging but most of the time it is easily doable if you get a bit savvy with the combat mechanics. The most fun I've had on the hard difficulty. Enemies hit a bit harder, their shields stay up because it correspondents only to a different spell kind, etc. The finishers are cool as well, and the last enemy you kill make the whole world slow down for a moment, so you can recollect yourself.
    The music is just incredible, magical. It reminds me of Harry Potter and is nice.

    Gameplay summarized would be: It feels like an Ubisoft game, with a better story.

    Sadly there is very little variation on paths you take and the game basically force "A", even if you've chosen for "B". This is somewhat of a bummer to me. There is no direct influence on the world, regarding the path you take. You can't feel it.

    The real gem to me are the side quests and the ancient magic. It is just so fun to mess around with it, the way it reacts. Sadly there isn't a lot of variation there as well. The side quests because of certain characters, other than that the rest are just side quests. Also the flying is really cool, the controls aren't all that, but the way you fly is very nicely. oh..     Terrible optimized, intro works on my 3070 perfectly on high, after reaching hogwarts and outdoors are a lot of frame drops, unplayable atm. Normally the frame rate is reasonable arround 50 - 60.

    I am liking the game and graphics are good but one issue... it doesn't have the mystery, magic and warm of Hogwarts. You don't have the magical experience of 9 and 3 quarters and the train ride into Hogwarts, everything feels to easy to get into and visit, no need for a cloak, no real feeling of welcomed into ur house and class mates, feels less exciting. the colors feel like Skyrim, sameI am liking the game and graphics are good but one issue... it doesn't have the mystery, magic and warm of Hogwarts. Ce jeu me laisse le sentiment d'être un fan-service sans réelle substance.

    Dialogs and missions are quite bad and the whole game look like a museum where you are just taking a tour, doesn't really feel like a true rpg.

    This game is not really stable at the moment. The open world formula is just like any generic open world out there, NPCs does not feel like they have any personality at all. And thinking back on the review bombs of Elden Ring which said the game was buggy and stutter, this game has the exact same problem which makes me realize how hypocrite fan boys really are.

    RTX - это сказка, отражения зеркала - мыло мыльное, а при использовании фонарика новые тени не появляются, кстати в игре про магию с кастом огня от огня нет новых теней, даже от костров и факелов не всегда бывают тени.
    И вишенка на торте первые 2 часа это унылое обучение, первые локации сильно ограничены что бы выдать картинку хоть как-то похожую на игру, а дальше у вас заканчивается время на возврат и игра проседает.
    К 15 часу игры я получил гипогрифа и метлу, т.е. вот бонус за предзаказ я увидел через 15 часов. Но крафт и фарм ингридиентов в реальном времени м... Как вам 25 ждать ингредиентов на улучшения шмота? ТЗ у разрабов было явное: Игра на 60+ часов

    В игре никто не хочет пояснить за мир, за сюжет, почему я на 5 курсе попадаю в школу, что там за баллы и что они дают, почему я с самого начала умею кастовать с палкой, но меня посылают за новой палкой, почему гоблин кастует с руки без палки? The macguffin is the end point of the game and it's ancient.

    Combat is where I really laughed a lot at the game. Forspoken got a lot of deserved criticism but its spells looked better and even the combat felt slightly better than this point and shoot. Though what really made me laugh at the combat were idiotic mechanics where the spell has to be the same color as that of the shield to break the shield. The mechanics and the purpose of the spell be damned, the color is what determines duel outcomes. Every complex and compelling magic system I can think of, like Oblivion or Magicka has been respectful of their audience to give them more. The fact that games not based on magic have more variety and quality in their spells catalogue than Hogwarts Legacy is both insulting and amusing.

    The open world is not really open if one examines it closely. The aesthetics are decently done but that would be a very insignificant plus point as opposed to gameplay in that world feeling hollow. Once you scour the countryside a bit more, you realise that the so called open world is anoter exercise in Ubisoft open world shenanigans. The difference is that a modern Ubisoft Assassin's Creed has still more to offer than Hogwarts Legacy. Granted that's because of Ubisoft flinging more quantity and getting a few lucky shots, but in this race to the bottom, I can only draw these forms of comparisons.

    The only bits funnier than the combat system are the reviewers insisting that there is build variety in the game. I expect this game might get microstransactions in the future and some more minigames because well the fans of hte franchise are very easy to exploit and gaming fans even more so, as EA and Activision have continually demonstrated over the last decade or so.

    Holy moly this game has some problematic writing. It's also got Denuvo in it, which is straight up malware. Avoid.

    Incredibly disappointing. UI and various other elements look like they come from a mobile game and were haphazardly shoved onto consoles and pc, yet performance begs to differ. If you are a harry potter fan, I still cannot recommend it. It is so derivative and dull. If you want to relive the magic of the movies, either watch the movies or buy the (far cheaper) lego games.     Briefly and clearly. An imperfection. A degenerate fan service, not a game. Why degenerate? That's a beautiful wrapper and a tasteless candy.

    I was playing for 28 hours. It seems the guys who rates this game with max. score, played 3 hours max.

    Game is awful and positive reviews are biased by nostalgia and politcal views.

    Diversity, wokism all over the place as always. Lame optimization, performance. Gameplay boring quickly, dead world, dead game. Better go read the original books and watch the movies. Such sh*t show.

    The success of Hogwarts Legacy clearly shows that good sales and warm feedback from players are ensured not so much by the gameplay thought out to the smallest detail but by carefully reproducing the right atmosphere. But this is already a subtle moment, akin to real magic, and here the nameless developers of Avalanche Software succeeded.

    Hogwarts Legacy is an altogether excellent port of Wizarding World to PC screens. It proudly belongs to the Young Adult fiction genre, which may make immersion difficult for older gamers.
