    I like the gameplay beyond other MOBA but sadly Blizzard abandoned it so I think it's better keeping it in good memories than playing the same patch without any new contents for years.

    Edit: while playing unranked our tead did not know what to pick and therefore we were knocked out of the picking phase back to menu and got banned for 1 game from unranked/ranked - had to win 1 game of QM, but after 2 matches of **** quick match provides, we uninstalled. Nova/deathwing/genji/tracer every game. Why can't heroes like this just be deleted? **** all of you guys who main these heroes

    On the other hand, quick match was and still is the biggest flaw of the game where you get idiotic compositions. You either stomp or get stomped. Sounds like fun, eh? Yet I am not suprised because most of players want to carry and play assassins. Nobody cares about a good team comp on QM. Reconnecting system is bad too. If you lost connection, you may just wait until the match is over because you will not rejoin in time. Ranked is far from ideal too, people are clueless about positioning or draft, even in diamond/master. Trollpicks such as nova/gazlowe/murky are a common thing

    Fun moba with no useless and time-consuming elements like half an hour grind and shop management, just pure brawl. However, it is still a team game, and God, sometimes teammates are f awful: trolls, leavers and plain stupid. But well, which team multiplayer doesnt have such issues?

    Then as I kept playing more solo and less with friends in a team, I just had to admit, that the games unique system, that i first praised and what makes this game unique, is the worst thing ever. By sharing all exp and basically with that your aka items/strength. You just NEVER have the chance to turn around a game with 4 casual teammates against 5 good enemy players. There were times when I was MVP, had both top damage, top heal, top exp earned, did most objectives as well and still lost.
    The reason? Simple. Lets take League of Legends for reference.
    You have 1 pro (S=5), and 4 casual (D=1) in TEAM1, and 5 average gold players (A-B=2-3) players in TEAM2. The pro will most likely carry the game.
    Here: the enemy team will most likely win. Why? BECAUSE everything is shared, TEAM1 with a total of 5+4*1=9 points < vs 5*2-3 =10-15 point. To put THIS into perspective, TEAM2 will have ults and even lv13 talents, while TEAM1 wont even have ults.
    This is just an example to give you an idea what I mean.

    Before 2.0 it was a solid 8-9/10, now its like a 4-5. Love the blizzard universe, but objectively it seems the game has already stopped development. Nothing happened for a long time since deathwing came in. Not so long ago they introduced Mei (tba).
    There is a FIX meta, where a selected 10 or so few heroes are a must pick/ban, the rest are only for fun or none existent.

    When was the last time you seen a gazlove? Who needs Specialists (old role)? How much Ranked you played were there was none of these picked and/or banned: Xul, Li-ming, Kael Tas, Deathwing, Mephisto, Tycus, Malthael, Garros, Diablo (exclude Mei, but a possibility)

    The game is playable, mostly for fun only, but can't be taken seriously anymore. Feels bad, I really wanted it to be better, to be good, to be the League killer...

    For those who are not familiar or very casual playing MOBA games, I can very much recommend this game as your introduction to MOBA-s. Since everything is shared, you will feel being as good as your teammates, and they will uplift you. Its easy to learn, and not so (/as) hard to master. It's the perfect stepping stone (sadly).

    For those with more experience, and to play seriously, competitive, NOT RECOMMEND it! (With friends only/premade maybe)

The matchmaking is usually poor (seems to be a blizzard thing) and worse yet, the games are long with no option to concede. Aside from fanboys that will defend anything about this game, everyone would like the option to quit when you know within 5 minutes that the teams are absolutely rigged either because some players are terrible (or purposefully throwing the game) or because the game decided to give one team a ridiculously stupid composition compared to the other. So when one person leaves and another sits in spawn dancing you can either waste your processor doing it with them or you can go fight and lose for 15-25 minutes, all because they don't want to bother figuring out a way to quit. Or you can leave and get all the penalties they impose. And in this game, if one person is bad, they easily drag the whole team down very quickly just due to the way it plays.

    The worst part of the busted matchmaking is that the game will put a full pre-made team- i.e. 5 people who have chosen their heroes to compliment each other and are likely on voice chat- against teams made up of randoms or just 2-3 people on a team. This is almost always a frustrating waste of time and should never happen. Any team with 5 people should be matched against other 5 teams or, at least, 4.

    There are many heroes, so many that unless you play this game every day you will probably end up completely lost as to who does what because heroes get changed all the time and there are simply too many to keep track of- again, unless you play this game religiously.

    The good news is: it's free. As long as you don't care about cosmetics you will quickly get enough heroes that you'll be okay, even though it will take some time to earn all of them via the game's currency.

    The bad news is: it feels like a waste of time because I rarely had any actual fun.

    Contrary to what most might think, you can carry pretty hard in this game if you choose the right hero, have enough map knowledge and your teammates aren't intentionally throwing the game. A downside is that some maps are much harder to comeback from a bad early game than others, but it depends much in the draft.

    Every role of your team composition is meaningful. Carrying a game as a healer is one of the most satisfying feelings in gaming history. The pacing of the team fights is one the best qualities of the game. The games last about 20 minutes which is more practical than other mobas.

    The main flaws are:
    -The developers keep making unnecessary reworks for heroes;
    -Quick match is absolutely unplayable because of how random team comps get;
    -Player base is kind of small, so it takes too long to search for draft games;
    -If you're a new player, buying new heroes takes forever.

    After all this time, I'm still addicted to the feeling of making plays in this game. That being said I'm retired from it until the number of players gets significantly bigger, because, right now, I spend more time queuing and drafting than actually playing, which makes losses much more stressful.

    This is probably the only game in its genre I'd recommend to anyone besides DOTA, since unlike League/Smite/any of the other numerous clones, it's actually enough of a departure to be unique, instead of just being DOTA with worse balance, less experienced developers, and more pay walls.

    However, HOTS is still plagued by the worst parts of those games, most notably the pay walls. Unlike Smite and other games, there's no option to unlock all the heroes in one reasonably priced pack, so to gain access to the full roster you need to either grind out hundreds or probably thousands of games to buy them with the in-game currency, or spend hundreds of dollars to get them all with real money.

    Really I think any LOMA without a fully unlocked hero roster is doomed from conception. The business model only allows for two options: either people without the full roster are at a competitive disadvantage, or the roster is drastically less diverse than in DOTA.

    Put in the extra time and effort to learn DOTA and you will be rewarded with a truly balanced and endlessly deep game that you can learn and improve at all your life. Stick with HOTS and you'll be stuck in the kiddie pool -- not because this is a marginally easier game to play, but because the design decisions made by the developers necessarily limit your creativity as a player.

    I had pretty high hopes for this game starting out, and while I've played it regularly for about a year and a half now, I must say it hasn't lived up to expectations. First, while I really enjoy the vs AI matchmaking of the game, and can congratulate them on a fairly regular stream of heroes being released, it unfortunate that they overlook several big aspects of the game.

    First, they treat most of their loyal players like **** They regularly give away heroes that people paid real money for for free during promotions. While it absolutely makes sense to soften the burden of new players into a constantly evolving games, giving away heroes that are month or so old for free is basically a big middle finger to active players.

    Second, things like this that dissuade regular players from sticking around often leads to a bigger problem of insanely long queue times. Playing ranked frequently requires queue times near 5-7 minutes, which is rediculous, because half the time you actually join a game the gap between MMR rating is pretty huge. 1 Diamond, 2 gold, a silver, and a bronze or so.... If they're doing that, then why did I wait so long?? Just throw me into the first 5 people that queue, right? -.-

    Third, I would argue that this game is less toxic than League of Legends. That's pretty important, since LoL is pretty terrible in that regard. It is nice to have a play system where an accidental death isn't the end of keeping up. On the otherhand, the player base is maybe only minorly better, and most toxicity tends to dwell near ranked like most games, which takes forever to join games in.

    Fourth, and finally, the skins in this game are huge missed opportunity. The design team and the production managers are honestly just really weird. They sign off on weird skin designs regularly. Everyones style and appeal is different. There is surely some you'd love. But even on the ones that are good and appealing to you, they end up choosing just the ugliest alternate colors; All solid green, all red, no darker tones and weird designs kind of ruin it. The best ones tend to be the Master skins that are available for in-game currency only and have high level requirements. It's nice, but begs the question of why. If they had any sense, they'd just tap into Blizzard's trove of original game gear sets, designs and themes and double their skin inventory just based off that.

    All in all, its a fun game if you're a bored Blizzard fan. Otherwise, it's just a strange MOBA that fails to live up to its potential and doesn't treat their loyal players well. I'd avoid it if you haven't already.

    This MOBA is fun to play, each hero is unique and there are a lot of maps. It has nice graphics and the fact that you can not buy items is not important, because this game has other great assets. On the other hand, the game is imbalanced and poorly optimized, also the ranked system could be better. In overall HOTS is solid MOBA game, but Dota 2 and LoL are still unchallenged kings of this genre.

    The end result is that you will get close to a 50/50 win ratio over time no matter what. And while it is still very possible to rank up or down, the level of skill corresponding with each rank is hugely varied. And very little satisfaction is there to be had for most players who are looking for an achievement in this regard.

    A good ranking system will have most of these features. Players will win about 50% of the time. Games will feel generally balanced. BUT SKILL WILL CORRESPOND WITH RANK. fix it

    In Heroes of the Storm you play as one of Blizzard's iconic characters from Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo. At first glance the game looks like a typical 5 vs 5 MOBA, but there are changes that differentiate it from its competitors. The matches are shorter, items have been replaced with talents and all maps have different side objectives. Overall, the changes have made the game more intense and varied. The main thing that I have issues with is the payment model. At first it seems fair and reasonable, but after a while you realize that you have to spend tons of money if you want to unlock all the characters or play the game for a long time. [Sept 2015]
