The game sounds better than it looks.
-
The story has strength and depth, but the game structure is rather clumsy for storytelling purposes.
-
What we have here is an extension of the original with a much better and generally more compelling storyline. This does not detract from the amount of fun you can potentially have with this title.
-
If this product has a failing point, it has to be the graphical elements. But then again, this program is built so that just about anyone with a Pentium computer can play it.
-
The missions themselves are fairly long, and you might grow weary of having to use the same set of units toward the end of the game.
-
It's just a little too light on the amount of gameplay included to recommend to veteran HOMM fans.
-
There are no unique units, no improved visuals and all of the sound effects remain the same. Warlords of the Wasteland also lacks a map editor and multiplayer options. The replay value plummets for fans of Heroes of Might and Magic and even newcomers to the series.
