With its brilliant, well-thought-out design, Hearthstone is destined to become one of the best card games ever created. The expansion improves upon the impressive original card design and brings more strategies to the table. Any gamer, whether TCG fan or not, should appreciate the amazing work Blizzard has done.

The first expansion set for Hearthstone is a major step forward for the already accessible and fun game, and I hope to see even more variety as we move past Goblins vs Gnomes into the future of the digital card game.

Hearthstone still offers the unlikely kind of blend of strategy and accessibility that made it a hit, and now it's even better, with more fun interactions to take advantage of.

Goblins vs Gnomes is a perfect add-on to Blizzard's card game. The players get 120 new cards that create tons of new possibilities when modifying or creating a new deck (and that affects the gameplay greatly). What's very important - GvG is free and right now Hearthstone could easily match World of Warcraft in terms of longevity, provided that Blizzard keeps releasing such great expansions.

The new decks bring even more chaos into the game, which is always a good thing. The expansion gives you the opportunity to experiment on brand new strategies, and to play like you never did before.

Clever and well-balanced expansion, which didn’t break the original mechanics but revived them with several new packages and ideas. [Issue#249]

After the somehow disappointing Naxxramas, Blizzard is back at its trading card game, adding what makes the players' hearts beat faster: loads of cards. It does so with good balancing, and really expanding the strategy of the game, so if you love Hearthstone, this will always be a good choice to keep playing.

Most importantly of all, it's re-introduced a thoughtfulness to play that's been absent for too long. As the game settles down after the disruptive influx of new gadgets and gizmos, you sense there are plenty more remarkable inventions hiding in plain sight, but they're waiting for a curious mind to start tinkering with them.

The first real expansion for Hearthstone is a resounding success, fun, varied and intriguing. No new game modes unlike in Curse of Naxxramass, but it’s not a bad thing.

Still addictive, still entertaining. The first big set for Hearthstone hit the spot. Against all grim forecasts the massive amount of random cards didn’t hurt the game. Thanks to the GG expansion new game packs are created and the old ones are edited, which makes the game better and better.

Past level 16 or so your chances at winning a PvP are generally dependent on how many legendaries you have = how much $ you've put into the game. Which is fine, but games like TF2 solved the F2P model without giving other players an unfair advantage. Full Review »

It really decided to double down on the super aggressive games that quickly stale.

I predict that in a few weeks, a handful of the cards will take a massive nerf. or maybe a few months.
I'm pretty sure some of the cards are intentionally insane just to sell card packs.

It's not really a proper expansion as in more modes, story, features etc. but rather just new cards available in the main game. More cards, that can't be bad right? Wrong. Especially if those cards are armies of annoying robots and hordes of crazy goblins throwing dynamite everywhere. The problem I have with GvG is that it seems to be infecting the core of Hearthstone pretty significantly, the fact that everyone is using it is ok, that's everybodys choice, but GvG is even forcing it's way to Arena for example, as of now, the only type of pack you can win in Arena is GvG which I don't want, and as the entrance is paid, it made the entire Arena useless for me and I have to buy normal packs, which is not fun at all. I also don't like the atmosphere of those cards, I see Hearthstone as a good fantasy, and all those mechs and robots doesn't suit that at all. So many cards are either annoying or their effect totally random, which even more increases the element of luck rather than skill. There are still couple of cool cards here and there and in this type of game, more is always good, but I just really really don't like the theme of this pack, hopefully it was the worst for the start and from now on all new expansions will be only better. 3/10 Full Review »
