The game is fantastic and runs well but there are some severe issues with the audio. Guns are muffled and the dialogue is sometimes inaudible. This hinders the immersion greatly. Fix this ASAP 343!

Just dated and disappointing. Even with the enhanced graphics on the PC it looks like something from last decade. The gameplay has not made the transition from gamepad to mouse gracefully. If you've been dying to play Halo you might love it. If you're new to the franchise you might be left wondering what all the fuss was about.

Movement is VERY floaty which makes every surface you walk on feel like ice and there is basically no air control which just feels bad to play. Guns also feel strange to use as there is such large random bullet spread and there isn't really any visual or auditory feedback for when I'm hitting anything. Ive gotten used to it after about 15 hours but I still think that these are flaws that shouldn't be ignored.

Campaign seemed very basic "tacticool military guys do stuff" but since this is a prequel I may just not know who these characters are supposed to be. Most of the campaign maps seemed like they were designed for multiplayer and then just slapped into singleplayer because most of the interior spaces were just symmetrical rooms with different layers, not interesting level design. Most of it was fairly simple shoot aliens and drive vehicles to get to more aliens, however the final mission and the epilogue were really cool and were very enjoyable. I hope to revisit the campaign when I have more knowledge of the story.

Multiplayer is good dumb fun with a variety of gamemodes, but theres not much substance to the main modes (deathmatch/swat/ctf) and the weapon designs are puzzling to me, half of them are an instant kill and the other half are low damage that rely on tracking and take a long time to kill, there's no middle ground just 1 extreme or the other. Also personally not a fan of the radar as its pretty much x-ray vision and forces me to look in the corner of my screen instead of the crosshair.

Multiplayer maps are terrible, they remind me of something an amateur mapper would make for CS:S or something, all of them support multiple gamemodes so its trying to cater to each one but doing a bad job of it instead of focusing on 1 gamemode and doing it well.

I'm enjoying the invasion mode as this seems like the gamemode with the most thought put into the map balance and has some interesting classes and objectives. Vehicles in multiplayer are also great fun but not really suited for anything serious.

Despite all these flaws I can see myself having a blast in multiplayer for hundreds of hours, and more when more games get released. I will also revisit the campaign when I've learned more story.

First Halo game and started with this. Enjoyed the gameplay, short and sharp without feeling repetitive. Great storyline setting up the rest of the series.

Good. The campaign is fun and the story is really dramatic, even though it doesn't add much to the Halo lore, but that's just my opinion. The multiplayer was extremely fun when there were players actually playing.

The graphics doesnt even look like from 2015, forget 2019. I was disappointed considering the hype surrounding it before its release. The campaign felt lackluster. The maps seemed so less detailed and sparse.

História fraca, gameplay cansativa e repetitiva, inimigos já ultrapassados sem nenhum inovação, AI bugada. unico ponto positivo pra não ser 0 é o coop da história.

Honsetly, if I had to describe this game in one word, "average" is the one that comes to the forefront.

The graphics are okay, I guess, it's a quick remaster of an older game, I don't really care - it's clear enough, supports 4k native, I don't really need much more. It's nothing special though, and if you really care about graphics, you'll definitely be disappointed, there are

It's nothing special though, and if you really care about graphics, you'll definitely be disappointed, there are definitely much better remasters out there.

The sound design is not quite up to par to other Halos in my opinion, nor is the music. It's nothing too bad, but it's worse than you would expect given, especially the music, is mostly very good throughout the series.

The gameplay is not too stellar either - while it avoids some of the shortfalls (infinite spawning enemies, too many constricted spaces, etc.) of the oldest entries, it also leaves a lot to be desired. The balance is not all that good, a lot of the weapons are pretty much useless - either their accuracy is crap, their damage is crap, or their amount of ammo availability and carry capacity is too low, which is again worse than the other games in the series which are generally much better in terms of balance. However, there are some space and flying sections that work surprisingly well and were perhaps the most fun parts of the game.

The story is again forgettable B-grade scifi action flick, everyone is hardass badass hero, and so on. However, I don't want to spoil anything, but I actually liked a lot what they did with the ending. Also, there are no cringy teenager jokes unlike most other Halos, so that's a plus in my book.

Overall though, it's just a painfully dull ordeal that you kind go through and forget, it's not gonna make you mad, but it's not exactly exciting either. Also, despite the setting, the color palette is much duller, because that's what was cool at the time - grey and brown and nothing else. Bleh.

Another hit in the Halo series. I played almost all of the Halo games right after the another so it gets little blurry for me, but I definitely had fun.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the first Halo game I have put any real time into, I didn't have to pay for it as a friend bought me the collection as a gift. But I can safely say that just this game alone is worth the money and I can't wait to play the rest. The story is very decent and holds weight, most of the characters you meet in your team in the game do end up dying which I feel like was intended to hit harder emotionally than it actually did for me which was kind of disappointing as it brought the emotional level of the story down a bit for me, but it still served it's purpose nonetheless. The combat is fun but nothing crazily different from any other shooter from the 2010's so not bad at all just nothing to set itself apart. I played the game on heroic difficulty, which definitely added more challenge to the game but could also be a bit frustrating at times making it feel like some of the areas in levels where there was little to no cover were impossible to complete. but I managed it anyway. The graphics are okay, it kind of weirded me out that they decided to make halo 1 and 2 look enhanced in the mcc but none of the other games. So even though they re-released the games in 2019 they didn't bother to enhance this games graphics. they aren't bad for 2010 standards, but could have definitely done with a touch up. I can't say much on the multiplayer as I haven't put much time into it but what I have played of it I found it fun with no matchmaking issues or lag so no complaints from me.
Overall a solid solid game with decent combat, a good story and challenging gameplay when played on heroic. With some flaws as all games have, but nothing major.

A mainline Halo game has finally come to PC as part of a much larger compilation. If you desire high-octane Halo action on PC, Reach is as good a start as any, but heed this port's rough edges and missing features.

Although this isn't the definitive version of the game due to the lack of split-screen play, Halo: Reach on the PC is a solid experience. The campaign retains the magic that Bungie prided itself on during its time with the franchise and the multiplayer. While the multiplayer in Reach is not as populous as the older entries, it often has more options to satisfy anyone's tastes. This is a good indication of how the rest of the package will turn out, which means that there's going to be some positive buzz surrounding each release. Whether you're buying this on Steam or taking advantage of the Xbox Game Pass on PC, Reach is well worth checking out.

For an almost 10-years old grandpa of a game Halo: Reach still stands strong. It’s Bungie’s best Halo and a fitting goodbye with their own franchise. [02/2020, p.64]
