    Juegardo es unos de los mejores juegos de la historia, este juego adapto bien los shooters a consolas y causando que sea un exito para la Xbox original ya que antes de Halo Los FPS en consolas eran mediocres ejemplos: Medal of Honor (1999) y Golden Eye 007.

    Graficos para su epoca: 7/10 texturas de alta resolucion y efectos de shaders muy buenos pero lo malo son los graficos de los soldados y del protagonista ya que los ojos estan en 2D, algunas manos tienen los dedos pegados y las animaciones de bocas parecen del Half-Life y otra cosa mala es que en el port de PC se perdieron algunos detalles graficos.
    Jugabilidad: 10/10 se puede golpear y tirar granadas con un solo boton.
    Niveles: 8/10

    Extra: Lo bueno del port de pc es que agregaron un multijugador online (en Xbox solo se podia jugar en pantalla dividida) y lo malo es que quitaron el modo cooperativo y perdio algunos graficos pero aun asi es un port decente.    … Expand

    While the PC version is not as good as the Xbox original, the fact that Halo came to PC is crazy! Overall, a solid port for a fantastic game.

    Halo 1 is a game overrated for 20 years for no other reason than it was a hyped game in consoles. And like any other overly hyped console game, people don't even care if it was a good game or not and just jump on the hyping bandwagon.
    People act like we never got games like Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM, DOOM 2, Half-Life, Quake, Quake II, Quake III, Hexen, Heretic, Blood, Blood II, Unreal, Unreal    Halo 1 is a game overrated for 20 years for no other reason than it was a hyped game in consoles. And like any other overly hyped console game, people don't even care if it was a good game or not and just jump on the hyping bandwagon.
    People act like we never got games like Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM, DOOM 2, Half-Life, Quake, Quake II, Quake III, Hexen, Heretic, Blood, Blood II, Unreal, Unreal Tournament, System Shock, System Shock II, Deus Ex, Team Fortress Classic, Tribes, Strife, Rise of Triad, Redneck Rampage, SkyNET, Kingpin, Aliens Versus Predator, Requiem Avenging Angel, Turok, Shadow Warrior...
    We had things like good gameplay, story based action, captivating soundtracks, incredible settings, beautiful sceneries, LAN parties, large mod communities, pure arena multiplayer LOOONG before Halo came to consoles.
    But the Modern Game Media push this game like the "FIRST FPS GAME EVER" just because it was a console game. And just because it was a console game, people behave like all those PC Games were never happened.
    Modern Game Media channels LOVE TO neglect PC gaming.
    Halo 1: Terrible gameplay, terrible gun mechanics, repetitive level design, repetition of same repetitive level design, and repetition of game by backtracking from the same levels to the beginning.
    But who cares, right? This game is being displayed as the pinnacle of gaming, and we are being forced to act like this.

    Uhm... I don't even know where to begin. When I think of the year 2001, this piece comes to mind. Simply way ahead of its time.

    Although the textures might feel repetitive[-0.3], the level/map designs are beyond ingenious. One more thing I find nice is that the Legendary difficulty is somewhat actually tolerable unlike later Halo games. At least for me, Halo 3/Reach on Legendary is    Uhm...     The sound design is phenomenal; alongside the stellar soundtrack. Quite iconic I'd say!

    The storytelling is alright, but rest of the series does it a little better.

    Several *not* game breaking glitches exist[-0.3]. The most annoying one is: even when you cut the left arm of a certain enemy(which is used for their vicious whip attacks) while it's swinging, its ongoing melee would still land unless that enemy is stunned by your shot registered. THEN it'll be unable to whip again.

    I wasn't willing to comment on multiplayer but why not. In my honest opinion, all the weapons are a bit imbalanced when it comes to on-line experience[-0.4]. Worse still, the skill gap between new people and veteran players is more than massive at this point anyways. Maybe I should 've been born earlier than myself(10/16/2001).

    Overall, just great old game with few flaws. Something very fundamental if you're gonna discuss about FPS or video game history in general.    … Expand

    The first game I played when I played it on the original Xbox.

    Played with my friend in co op mode and it was an absolute blast considering
    it released in 2001 so it was ahead of it's time then.

    Still play it on the Master Chief collection on pc to this day with my nephew.

    Such the best game, it's even better than Grand Theft Auto 5 for Xbox 360 (My favorite game). I have a 2GB Ram PC With an Intel GMA 3100 as GPU And Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 With 279GB Of Hard Drive. I have the pc really tweaked and it goes like 60 fps. multiplayer is the reason why i buy it. the problem is that there is like 0 servers on my country, 10 of 10, it needs to be the best game onSuch the best game, it's even better than Grand Theft Auto 5 for Xbox 360 (My favorite game). Я с игрой до этого года лично не был знаком, но после прохождения на героической сложности могу наконец высказаться: ИИ у врагов действительно неплохой, иерархия у врагов присутствует явная, большие просторные локации, кое где с вертикальным гейплеем, немного, не менее разнообразной техники, как и обычный наземный транспорт,Добротная игра, произвёдшая революцию в мире консольных шутеров.     I played this ages ago when I never heard of Xbox nor Halo, found it on a random shelf in a game store.
    Boy i never thought i would have had this much fun playing an FPS back then, i was just starting off with RTS games and GTA, this one was a new feel back in the day, and to this date(a day before Halo Infinite launches) I treasure playing this game.
    Here's to all the Spartans who found    I played this ages ago when I never heard of Xbox nor Halo, found it on a random shelf in a game store.

    Never having owned an Xbox, Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC was an instant purchase for me. I started with the first game, hoping to love one of the most popular franchises but I am a bit disappointed. Halo: Combat Evolved is not a bad game, it’s just not that good for anyone familiar with FPSs on the PC that predated Halo. I understand its appeal to console gamers in particular,Never having owned an Xbox, Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC was an instant purchase for me. I started with the first game, hoping to love one of the most popular franchises but I am a bit disappointed. Halo: Combat Evolved is not a bad game, it’s just not that good for anyone familiar with FPSs on the PC that predated Halo. I understand its appeal to console gamers in particular, considering it was maybe the first FPS on consoles with rather good controls. It also introduced a regenerating shield mechanic which was borrowed by many other games.

    I did not find the story anything special. There is a very little variety of enemies and you will keep killing the same aliens over and over. Whereas I really liked the graphics of the remastered version, the graphics of the vanilla game feel a bit dull with the use of repeated grey corridors throughout the game. You can switch between the original and remastered graphics by a simple press of TAB, so it was a great feature of the Master Chief Collection. Whereas enemies feel a bit repetitive, the gameplay does not. Some missions take place in narrow corridors, some in large open areas and some of them expect you to use vessels. Different missions play differently and so the game offers a change of gameplay throughout. My favorite mission was definitely The Library which felt like a mix of Serious Sam and Half-Life.

    I played on Heroic difficulty but I felt the difficulty was a bit unbalanced. Some levels were quite easy, whereas some others were really frustrating.

    Overall, I enjoyed Halo: Combat Evolved. But it failed to secure a place as one of the most memorable shooters of the early 2000s.

    This is a very good port of a very good game. To be honest CE never reached the true heights of a first-person shooter but this port is a great way for pc gamers to play this masterpiece. There are certain graphical problems but in general if you don't want to pay for MCC; play this game because they used this port for Combat Evolved in the master chief collection as well.

Seguro, los gráficos son muy buenos para el 2001, aunque los escenarios en si son muy reutilizados y vacíos. Los enemigos tienen una buena IA pero también algunos combates llegan a cansar y se hacen algo injustos. También tuve problemas de framerate, aunque no lo tomare como un punto negativo ya que no tengo manera de comprobar si es mi PC o lo mal optimizado que esta el port de Xbox.
    Teniendo cada punto positivo uno negativo me hace pensar que a este juego le falta pulirse bastante. Casi como si intentara aspirar a muchísimo pero en el proceso solo terminaron priorizando la innovación y ambición sobre la calidad.
    Incluso a veces de lo tan vacíos que son los mapas y la naturaleza repetitiva del juego me hacen pensar que estoy jugando a un prototipo...
    Dire al final de cuentas que es un juego decente para su tiempo, pero que ha envejecido muy, muy mal a comparación de otros grandes shooters de aquel entonces.    … Expand

    A very good and enjoyable port, yeah it's somehow inferior to the xbox version but at least we now can play in full resolution and 60fps. Halo CE is a very original game and it differentiates itself from other fps video games.

    The game that literally put Xbox on the map. Amazing atmosphere and setting. Great soundtrack and likeable characters. Love the open level design and good driving mechanics. Ai for its time is problably ahead of its time. Multiplayer is simplistic and fun. Great console title that made it to PC

    It is good indeed it is. The pacing can be kinda whack, especially in the latter half with all it's repetition, and the game has obviously aged in not the best way, but even all these years later Halo:CE still manages to feel fresh and provide you with fun and unique experiences. It's still challenging and immersive, and the music is amazing. A classic for sure

    An overall good port of the Xbox Classic! Halo: Combat Evolved. Perhaps one of the best first-person shooters I've ever played. Gameplay-wise, the pc port is pretty good, providing options for better lighting, particle effects, higher resolutions, and multiple options for framerate. It is pretty much halo and all it's glory!

    so overall, not a bad port! 9/10

    This is the game what we always wanted great story,big characters this game is unbreakable in XBOX VERSION! BUT in PC version the game have problems with controls and with graphics too but I enjoyed the gameplay and the futuristic story so THIS IS A GREAT GAME! I recommend to everybody.

    This is Halo, it would be blasphemous not to give it a 10. Crazy good gameplay, plenty of teabags, lots of bang bangs, revolutionary for its time, and has a good modding community! Highly recommend!

    My first time playing Halo. I can appreciate how it influenced future games in its time, but damn if it isn't a giant slog. This thing will have you mindlessly shooting through endless waves of the same enemies running through the same areas hundreds of times over and over and then backtracking through those same areas again over and over and over again.     Great setting and plot line. The story is fitting and consistent, however the in-game cutscenes aren't phenomenal but they are really good nonetheless.

    Multiplayer is too quiet, maps have too much ambiance. Some Maps are too big for some of the game modes. Some maps have semi-unfair asymmetry. Overall the game is worth the play if you're looking for a good story and multiplayer    Great setting and plot line.     First and only experience I ever had with Halo - im a PC gamer.
    That's why i cant compare to other ones (Halo 2 was only for Windows Vista sooo... skipped).
    Story telling in this game is outstanding, with charming music and great combat.
    Hope they release remake of this game in the future for PC.

    The weapons - especially the alien ones are really uninspiring and bland. You can beat the game with only the pistol and the shotgun - best weapons in the game. The assault rifle is utterly useless. In the end it was hyped up by the console plebs, when it came to PC it showed nothing new or better then the things we already had.    Meh FPS.
    The story is ok, a bit pretentious on moments.

    Начало любимой серии фантастических приключений Мастера Чифа, идеальный шутер, в супер крутом сеттинге, жаль что начал знакомство не на Xbox, но спустя много лет наверстал в переиздание. Игра веха в индустрии FPS.

Bölüm tasarımları hakkında gerçekten de çok düşünülmemiş. Ayrıca oyunun son bir kaç bölümü o kadar zordu ki hala nasıl bitirdim ben bu oyunu diyorum kendime. The exact same levels throughout the entire game , repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over. You know, what happened on Reach and the lore and situation on the Covenant and Spartans. That was awesome. The vocals really fit the desperation of humans fighting a losing war against the aliens. Not the case of this menu though. It is just menu, who cares

    Profile, Campaing, Heroic, and I am off. The ship that... looks like a beer bottle, the ridicolous glass command center and...oh my, I am such a supersoldier has to be thawed from the ice prison. That is pretty good. Lets fight off the Alien scum. Wait a minute, what kind of Alien scum, what the hell is going on? You know, some introduction to the story that some fan was able to do about 100 times better then one of the most famous developers? Oh, and what about that huge piece of space decoration no one seems to care about. Should I care about it? Noone cares about it. Well, seems like it lacks any importance to the events.

    Not as awesome as I imagined, but it is the gameplay that matter and this is the god damn Halo. I am off to kill some xeno scum. Actualy I do not even have a weapon and have to navige coridors full of aliens to get to the brige where the captain gives me his empty pistol. Wait a second, is this real? Well, it is. But that is all forgotten already, because I finaly get to fight the aliens. The first three koopa "enemies". That are so dumb I can stand right in front of them and it still takes them a minute to kill me. On teh second highes difficulty. I can pass right thrue them without bothering wheter they exist or not. Because that is what shooting them is. A bother. These little **** are so miserable, there is no point in killing them. The big ****, called Elite for some reason, are only slightly better. Probably because it takes about two magazines (120 bullets!) from the pea shooter to kill them. Why is that a fun thing to do, I do not know. Anyway. The tactic is to concentrate fire on the big **** which staggers them and pass the smaller, because they are more dangerous to themself then to me.

    At this moment, the only reason why I keep playing Boro, is because I am still hoping it is going to get better. Worth playing and all. I crash on the ring and told to avoid the patrol. I do not not and wonder why, because it cannot even hit me, not to mention kill me. How the hell did humanity lose to idiots of this magnitude? No matter, I venture forth. Kill few aliens, get to the marines in the strange bulding, head where the arrow points.At least I think the arrow on the pea shooter is there to tell me where to go, because the "radar" is pretty useless. Walk into some kind of tunels and then realize I somehow skipped the part of the game where I fight off few drop ships and then ride the Warhog or what. So I cannot continue, because there is a big hole in the ground. Reload. This time I do kill every alien and wander the building untill the game decides to continue. And experience the classical idiot vehicle controls. But I ride. And it is as good as the combat. Even running the scum over is not satisfying.

    The best moment is when I ride the Hog into an abyss. That was fun. Then I quit the game, because I do not see any reason why I should continue. It might be because I play the best FPS of all times, the Brutal Doom, but Boro is simply incomparable to masterpieces like Max PAine, Mafia, Modern Warfare 1 or even Medal of Honour and is severely lacking in every direction. It is not entirely great to play as a character who does not even reassure a soldier he is not going to day while I am breathing or similiar American pathos. Well, they all died so I guess Chief was correct, still, it is not as awesome. Gameplay is ridicolous, guns are joke, there isnt any story worth of mentioning. Why play this game?

    So the only score the game is going to get is it runs at all and the art direction. I do not care about graphics, level design, framerate or any of that silly things, but when an enemy is not even worth shooting, I consider that a bad game.

    The only explanation I have is it is a game for children, but in that case I did not get the M rating.    … Expand

It has an amazing gallery of weapons, vehicles, enemies, and good guys. Outstand graphics and affects. An absolute must play before climbing up the franchise!

    Solid sci-fi FPS with fantastic well written plot and impeccable AI. The level design however is quite repetitive and the dialogue seems out of sync with the characters. Much fun to be had pummeling grunts with warthogs and destroying hunters! 8/10

    Halo: CE shaped modern FPS games, and also has one of the best stories, entangled in one of the best soundtracks of any game ever made. The atmosphere in the game was simply amazing. Sure the graphics are dated, it's from 2001 for god's sake, this was a launch title for the original Xbox! The game was revolutionary in its time, its a classic.

    This Halo game is the one that started it all. It brought us even greater Halo games, those being Halo 2, Halo 3, and to some extent Halo: Reach. The multiplayer on the PC is still up, so go get this game and experience the awesomeness of the first Halo game.

    I played this years ago. It was a fun game. I played multiplayer a lot. Mods were very cool, going up the mountains in some maps. My favorite maps were death island, the two snow maps, and some of the smaller maps. I liked oddball, ctf, bfm racing.

    The soundtrack is awesome and the graphics are really impressive for a 2003 game. The campaign is lengthy and the story is good, and most of the levels are pretty fun. Except for the library. Multiplayer, however, is super fun considering its age. Pistols and sniper rifles are too OP though.

    I haven't played Halo on Xbox or in its early years but looking at it from 2012, it's still pretty good but has some glaring flaws. For some reason there's no minimap and destination points only appeared in a few missions for me which can make the levels very confusing and I did get lost more than a couple times. Those are my two main flaws with the game but it has tons of positives as well. The guns are awesome and feel great to shoot and there's a good variety of them as well, my personal favourites are the pistol and the plasma pistol. I dunno why, I guess I just like pistols. The vehicles are also amazing and I was blown away by how smoothly they controlled for a game that came out in 2001, especially the banshee which I had a blast with. I found the story pretty good for a shooter as well but I wish they could have started to give Master Chief more of a personality in the first game.

    The multiplayer is great fun and I was pleasantly surprised that it's actually still pretty active on the PC version, I always see servers that are full and thriving with players even after 11 years. I'm not a huge fan of the maps that take place in an interior because they can get very chaotic when the only available weapon is set to rocket launcher. I did love the outdoor maps and my favourite is Timberland for it's size and beauty.

    Overall a great game and still worth playing even after over a decade, it's at it's best in multiplayer though since the singleplayer campaign is pretty dated.    … Expand

    I liked it a lot. Campaign was just as fun and it added a few new weapons (such as the fuel rod) to the game. Multiplayer was a ton of fun but it suffers from extreme lag if anyone in your match has lag. Also it features quite a few bugs and glitches as well. Overall it was an enjoyable game that was well worth playing imo.

    I've played the single player multiple times and have enjoyed the game for the most part. It is a classic. It does have shortcomings though which make it a pass for anyone who has it on Xbox. The most fun I had with this game was LAN multiplayer with friends. Don't play public servers.

    For starters its framerate is bad and choppy and people who say otherwise has got a win 7 gaming laptop or extremly good graphhics card from 2010, the graphics are quite bad, The level design is poor and worst of all the game is allmost unplayable on most older computers and the gameplay is so dodgy that It makes me want to tell developers to stop messing the hell around and make a game worth playing for more then an hour.

    Halo is truly the most innovative shooter since goldeneye. It set a new standard for the future FPS's to come. It is not only fun to play, but the graphics are excellent. Although there is not multiplayer on the xbox version, if you get games on the PC you will have the best multiplayer fun in years.

    The game is so boring that i sold it for my friend and never finished it. Nothing happens in the game. i don`t know what other people see in shooting some midgets (or elfs). The only plus that i gave was for the "halo" that looked fine in the outside areas.

I can say i have no probs running it and it runs smooth on a dated cpu now (2.94ghz celeron, 2 gig ram, 160g hd and ATI 256mb graphics), i was impressed with the speed of online game but am Having completed Halo on Xbox many years ago i was happy when my bro bought me this last week, i have not tried the story game as i have done that, i was more interested in the online multiplayer. I can say i have no probs running it and it runs smooth on a dated cpu now (2.94ghz celeron, 2 gig ram, 160g hd and ATI 256mb graphics), i was impressed with the speed of online game but am struggling with the pace of it lol. playing with keyboard and mouse is a bit cumbersome so looking to but a controller - on the whole - very happy with product - cant understand why people have rated this game so low, especially those who cant get it to run - how can you rate he actual quality of the game without playing it- what a bunch of noobs lol.… Expand

    Fast, beautiful and fun multiplayermaps. People say it's old and stuff, but they don't pay attention to its fun but only its name. I'd give this a 9 because I've had some lag with it once, no more. The grphics are nice, but aren't the best. so I'd still give it a nine out of ten.

    Simply put, Halo brought nothing to the table. In single player or multi-player. the game has its moments but niether single player nor multi-player required much skill. There was nothing "new" or "revolutionary" about it. It may be fun to play from time to time, but it is by no means a standard-setter.

    Broken... it was a broken product. The multiplayer server browser was ungodly slow, the graphics were ugly and dated, not to mention buggy, and then that gameplay was nothing short of underwhelming in light of all the high profile PC shooters in the last four years.... Terrible.

    THe People at the last review that said it was impossible to play at the second level THEY WERE WRONG.they probaly have cheap pc and didnt even play online i give it a 10. they should have more enemies like scott said like in halo 2 but its the best game i played so far as fear.

    Good game for playing with your buddies. Did not find it challenging for clans. Not really hard for an FPS, more of a spray n pray kind of deal. No one really makes custom maps.

    this game isn't deep, the enemy is stupid, the graphics are bad (but good for when it came out, i guess) your freinds are stupid, and the whole game consists of running around shooting aliens. nothing strategic. nothing to nmake you think. just twitchy point-and-click action.

    Simply put, Halo is a great game, and defined the fps genre for the current-gen systems.

    Halo is one of the most soul-moving games ever made, in that it gives you the feeling you are taking part in something great and very important. The level design is not physically brilliant, but the atmosphere always is.

    Amazing game. I played this twice in fact and still can't get over the graphics and gameplay. People Rating this Low are complaining about low frame rates and terrible graphics .One guy quoted he had a celeron!!! Give me a break...Get a Good computer and stop Ranking on possibly the greatest Sci-Fi FPS Ever! Anyone giving this lower than a 9 needs serious help. The only negative Amazing game.     An alright game. The graphics are good for it's age and so is the sound. I think the biggest error they made when making the game, is switching from fighting covenant to fighting the flood, which just pits you against hordes of little guys so all you do is spray fire most of the time. I'd much rather the flood was never incorperated in the game and you only fought covenant.

    Heyyo, Great game. But the port to PC was a poor one that ran horrible and the netcode too was horrible, and they should've upgraded the graphics to PC standards as the textures were quite blurred. But luckly, even with these problems, that solid Halo gameplay was still present.

The look and feel of the game are enough to make me feel sick, it either looks incredibly bland with concrete slabs everywhere, or disgusting bright colours. The "fearsome" alien race consists mainly of comical (except it's not funny) koopa troopers that run around Very poor game.     Just as good, if not better, than the XBox version. Banshees are awesome, and the internet style of linked play is second to none.

    So inferior to the xbox version its puzzling. The controller literaly adds a new dimension to the game. On the xbox Halo is a game of strategy and sheer skill. On the pc its a slow and typical FPS with good level design.

    The Xbox is all about high resolution graphics. The PC version outdoes the original with better graphics with hardly any loading time. The models are fairly good but the enormous amount of activity that occurs on-screen makes the graphics that much better.

    Surprisingly taxing even on very fast PCs with tons of RAM and the latest video cards. Halo for the PC also loses the original version's much-vaunted cooperative play mode. But in spite of all that, and in spite of the very high standards for first-person shooters on the PC, Halo is still an incredible action game. It's a true classic.

    A decent storyline, lots of NPC interaction, and graphics that you have to see to believe. Anyway, if you are even remotely a fan of FPS games, this is an absolute must have, and one hell of a ride.
