    Half-Life 2 episode 2 was the true continuation we wanted for Half-Life 2, it contains new enemies, better visuals, a whole new playground for story-telling and a fantastic journey that has a lot of emotional weight to it. Half-Life 2 Episode 2 was the next step for the Half-Life franchise but unfortunately Valve never finished this doomed story; definitely check this episode out it'sHalf-Life 2 episode 2 was the true continuation we wanted for Half-Life 2, it contains new enemies, better visuals, a whole new playground for story-telling and a fantastic journey that has a lot of emotional weight to it.     The second episode of Half-Life 2 outshines the first one, it still feels like a chapter but my god does it feel like a new adventure...
    There are new encounters, new enemies, more great soundtracks and a complete aesthetics overhaul. The ending was so emotional and satisfying simultaneously but i guess i, just like other video game enthusiasts, have to wait for the next chapter of this    The second episode of Half-Life 2 outshines the first one, it still feels like a chapter but my god does it feel like a new adventure...

    Really good. Better than Half Life Episode 1. It was longer and it had much more story and the ending is just the worst cliffhanger (In a goodway). Play through the entire series and up to here and youll see why everyones so desperate for a new Half Life.

В игре снова дают возможность управлять внедорожником и снова нагоняют на нас вертолет комбайнов. Сюжет не стоит на месте, он развивается, но оборвался на самом интересном моменте... Будет ли продолжение?Красивое дополнение к HL2 и HL2EP1. Теперь в игре появились просторы, 2 новых типов врагов, вернулся G-Man.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Half Life 2.2 é muito interessante agr com a Alyx sempre por perto, me sinto mais dentro do jogo e mais motivada a fazer o que se tem que fazer ("Do it for her").

    Eu ja tinha levado spoiler sobre a "morte" do Eli porém mesmo assim fiquei triste e em certo choque por ele ter morrido e ainda meio brutalmente.

    Jogo bom d+ não vejo a HORA DE VER HALF LIFE 3    … Expand

    Episode 2 is in some ways even better than the original Half-Life 2 but of course it's way shorter and not as revolutionary as the base game.

(sorry for my bad english lol) Definitly the worst half-life game from all, i couldn't tell wich part is my favourite from HL2 because the whole game feels amazing, like you're the protagonist of a movie, but i can completely tell that my favourite part of chapter 2 is when i finished it, everything revolves around Alyx, it feels like she is the protagonist this time, she is the important one while the player is a side character, even gman talks about her, it's like she's the choosen one or something like that, imagine playing a game, but now you're the npc, i mean of course i had moments where the things were fun, it's a valve game, even the worst has it's good moments, but as i said, the history of this one was very dissapointing… Expand

    I liked 2 series more than 1. In 1 series I was bored to play and I wanted to play it 100 times. And the 2nd episode I really liked, I liked the new mechanics, I was interested in playing the game. It's a pity that Half -Life 3 did not come out (
    An incredible game for her age, but today it can be boring for players.

    Valve дает возможность подышать свежем воздухом и готовит нас с эпизоду 3, НО при эком его не делает и халвы 3 не делает, не порядок
    А так так же прошел на одном дыхании как и осн часть и эпизод 1

    BEFORE WE BEGIN:
    Half-Life 2: Episode Two is the second installment of a trilogy that was never finished. Developed by Valve in 2007.

    THE TRAIL WILL BE LATE:
    Half-Life 2: Episode Two, unlike its predecessors, begins by immediately relinquishing control of the celebrated Gordon Freeman to the player, without going through introductory cutscenes. The player finds himself inside the derailed train in the finale of the first episode, devoid, as usual, of any injuries. The first sections of the game are extremely linear and devoid of enemies, so as to give new players room to learn the basic mechanics of the game. In addition, these early lines serve to re-bond the player's relationship with Alyx, the protagonist's traveling companion with whom one has faced the previous chapters of the saga.

    TWO ISN’T BETTER THAN ONE:
    From a gameplay point of view, this chapter does not add extremely noteworthy features compared to its predecessors. Certainly the AI of enemies has been improved, notable by the fact that they exploit completely new and realistic tactics to overpower the player, but less attentive players will tend to completely ignore this change. There is no new weaponry of any kind, and many mechanics such as the Half-Life 2 base car are reintroduced. The only new mechanic is that of a sticky mine, taken from some concepts set aside from the first chapters.

    GREEN IS GOOD:
    Graphically, the second episode of the Half-Life 2 trilogy excels the most. The introduction of several technologies that can improve game lighting, such as HDR, introduced in the first episode have been vastly improved, leading the final graphics to be extremely clean and pretty.

    POUNDING HEAVEN:
    On the audio side, there are no changes made from the previous chapters. I personally enjoyed the OSTs of this chapter much more than the previous ones, but they are all extremely congruent.

    BUT WHY 8?

    PROS:
    Half-Life 2: Episode Two comes across as an extremely clean game. With two successful titles behind it, it is almost problem-free. The game, from a plot perspective, is the first to reach a really high climax, but one that unfortunately will never be continued. This is because the third installment of the trilogy is likely never to be released.

    CONS:
    The few negative points of this latest episode were inherited from its predecessor, namely all those very long standoff stages where it is necessary to fight hordes of enemies, which are often monotonous and exaggeratedly verbose.

    This episode makes the best in half-life's combat. The hunters and antlion workers are fun to fight against. I also love one of the last chapters.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Последняя на данный момент "не-VR" часть серии, не точка, но троеточие в ней. Выделяется отличной графикой, физикой, как и предыдущие 2 части. Также появились новые механики по типу уничтожения страйдеров "магнуссонами" и езды на спорткаре (не то, что на багги в Half-Life 2). Стрельба осталась на таком же высоком уровне, что и раньше, и оружие все так же приходится добывать постепенно. Что касается сюжета, то здесь лично для меня произошел один из мощнейших клиффхенгеров из всех игр. Чтобы настолько закрутить повествование, "вернуть" G-Man'a, заставить по-новому взглянуть на роль Аликс, нужно было действительно постараться. Ну, и именно из-за концовки, во многом неожиданной, становится непонятно, почему Valve не продолжили сюжет и вообще забросили серию, строятся теории. То, что проявилась прямая связь с Portal в части Борея - также интересный ход, который будет обыгран только в "секретном" моменте в Portal 2 (зато каком!). Вообще, Белая Роща это, я так понимаю, Беловежская пуща, если действие происходит в Восточной Европе. Локации созданы очень красивыми для серии, что, кстати, нетипично, плюс присутствует ощущение некоего подобия свободы действия и перемещения, словно ты сам решаешь, куда идти дальше. Финальная битва со страйдерами и новыми противниками - охотниками - с применением "магнуссонов" на спорткаре и элементом tower defense - достойное завершение наших подвигов, коих в этой игре мы и так совершили немало. Надеюсь, когда-нибудь я пройду Half-Life Alyx, но пока для меня это хорошее, хоть и неполноценное завершение серии, после которого я все еще жду Half-Life 3. И не могу не сказать про саундтрек - он здесь все такой же классный, как и в предыдущих номерных частях.… Expand

    The overall package of this addon is pretty good, Valve quality from beginning to end. No experiments, nothing too fancy, valve just kept on telling their story further and delivered more of what has already proven as very good

    Any way you look at it, Episode Two stands out, even among the Half-Life series, as something special. It may be shorter than the original, but it's a burly experience packed into roughly six hours or so that offers up all the diversity, level design, and thoughtful gameplay we've known while making sure to propel the story forward and leave us wanting more.

    Episode Two is the most sumptuous chapter of the Half-Life saga, and by a country mile. It's as if Valve's tech and art teams are trying to outdo each other: the Source engine has had a striking technical overhaul that renders textures, materials and curves uncannily well, and the artists clearly relish having a fresh palette to work with.
