Gylt is a horror game for kids - sometimes too much horror, sometimes too much for kids. It borrows plenty of ideas from its predecessors and combines them into something that certainly isn’t in any way original, but it is at least fun. It’s also pleasingly short.

GYLT is an atmospheric, beginner-friendly horror experience that channels classic tropes of the genre, but experienced players might need more to sink their teeth into.

The game is still subtle enough with other parts of itself to at least warrant a thorough playthrough. After all, the player has to discover the origins of this mysterious world and the entities inside it, and the only way to find out is through multiple playthroughs. Overall, this experience is decent, and I'm thoroughly satisfied with what I've got.

GYLT is a case of a great concept that was let-down by weak implementation of the combat system, overall repetitiveness, and way too big of a focus on a younger audience.

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. It seems like an indie developer that I've never seen before, but their game making skills are quite great. It is well optimized and the game content is quite friendly. (Mark items on the map, mark destinations, keyboard and mouse play etc.). Compared to the KOEI company, it is rather a great company that is much more stable and does its best at the basics. Full Review »
