Grom is not for the weak-hearted; it's extremely hard. I often had to kill one enemy, save and repeat over and over until I got it right.
-
A light and enjoyable game. It looks good and designers have done the best they could to make it a user-friendly experience.
-
It's only flaw might be that the game is so unique that it can take quite a while to get into it, and the game is not very forgiving.
-
Cheat Code CentralThis game is very frustrating and relies on a blend of skill and luck which means even if you're a skilled player you will never have total control of the randomized events... Still, for the right person this can be a very fun game.
-
The game borders on tedious.

Computer Games MagazineMaking a short game is less of a sin than padding one with endless combats of attrition. [Nov 2003, p.98]
-
The control is poor, the AI is ridiculously inadequate, the graphics are stuck at a low resolution and are fairly uninteresting, and the game as a whole just doesn't work.
-
The game's problematic interface makes it too complicated to be mindless fun, and the combat itself is too mindless to have any strategic depth.
-
PC GamerThe contrast between cartoonish characters and sprays of blood only continues the rollercoaster of pain and confusion. Make sure to play on an empty stomach. [June 2003, p.88]

Computer Gaming WorldPoorly designed controls make this pallid Indiana Jones clone unplayable. [July 2003, p.83]
