    This game is alright, but nothing new from older titles, really. It quickly becomes boring and repetitive, and the port isn't especially well made. That being said the gameplay value is pretty high, and some of the side-missions and additions are somewhat entertaining, although seemingly forced on the gameplay, rather than blended in.

    Fun game with frustrating control dynamics! Loved the mayhem in stealing police cars, ambulances and fire trucks and crazy action taking on gang bangers and cops. Disliked the fixed missions which were way too hard to complete and if you make a small mistake you fail entire mission and cannot move on. Love the open world of exploring, gyms, eats and customize clothes, cars and weapons.Fun game with frustrating control dynamics!     For me, GTA games are about driving, vehicle variety, weapon variety, mission variety, and exploration. In other words, I play these games for the gameplay. That being said, I find San Andreas to be the greatest GTA game of all time. The driving is probably the most important aspect of a GTA game. It's what you're going to be doing most of the game. Yes, you can walk on foot, but most ofFor me, GTA games are about driving, vehicle variety, weapon variety, mission variety, and exploration. In other words, I play these games for the gameplay. That being said, I find San Andreas to be the greatest GTA game of all time. The driving is probably the most important aspect of a GTA game. It's what you're going to be doing most of the game. Yes, you can walk on foot, but most of the time missions require you to drive to your destination, and it's not always just a mile or so away. And even once you arrive at your destination, half the time the mission is going to require that you drive anyway. So if the driving doesn't work well in a GTA game... Well what does? There goes a massive portion of the game down the toilet. But like I said, this isn't the case for San Andreas. It has the best vehicle variety we've seen in a GTA game so far - Cars, airplanes, motorcycles, motorbike, bicycles, helicopters, boats, jetpacks, tanks, etc. each of which having their own advantages in differing situations. For example, a bike is slower in general, but you are able to bunny hop when you're on the bike so it is good for hopping over fences to get away from cops. Motorcycles have a very high acceleration (short term speed), and a decent top speed, but you won't have the defense that a car provides. I could sit here and explain each vehicle type in detail but it would be useless - Bottom line, the vehicles are widely varied in this game. Now as for the actual driving mechanics, this game went for the unrealistic, fast paced style GTA game. GTA IV went with a slower, more realistic style. Well, I mean I'm playing a video game. I don't expect it to be realistic. That adds nothing to the game for me, but the change between the driving mechanics in San Andreas and GTA IV did in fact slow the gameplay down severely. It only did negative. I don't think they're going to go back to the old, unrealistic but fun style of GTA games. San Andreas is probably the last good GTA game. Also, the difficulty level of this game was amazing (referring to the missions). It is without a doubt the hardest GTA game, and although there are a few silly, problematic missions where things are hard for reasons obviously unintended by Rockstar, these very few negatives are severely overshadowed by the massive amount of positives. So let me sum it up - It provides the best challenge, it has the best mechanics in a GTA game, and it has the most variety. What more could you ask for?… Expand

    "GTA: San Andreas" was a great free-world open sandbox game. You can try all sorts of weird gags and beat kick-ass missions with your black homies. However if you don't want to suffer glitches and tweaks that often happen, try "GTA: Vice City".

    Gta San Andreas in PC, is fun, huge and graphically great, but the controls issues makes this version of the game worse than the PS2 version. It haves the same things as the console version, and even with better graphics, but console version is a lot better. Still, it is an impressive game. (8.8)

    The GTA series have gone back far. But till now 2012 Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is still my favorite game of the series. Why? Because you felt free, more free then its then the others.
    The only reason i gave an 8 is because of its graphics, I know it was made 8 years ago but still, I reckon they still could be a bit better.

    I played San Andreas when I was a kid. Back then I didnt do any missions I just fooled around. I didnt think that game even had a point beside shooting cops and running people over. Now I have played game and got through its very long storyline ( bearly ) .

    My thoughts about story missions are mixed. I play and then 10 great missions come along, but then there comes mission so bad I thought Rockstar didnt even test those missions. Some are hard to the point of not being able to pass them, which is a serious shame considering how fun it is to play.

    Shooting mechanics are ok, but enemy AI is so dumb even for 2004 that makes shootouts scary easy compared to non shooting missions. Choice of weapons is solid , but your best bet is to take mp5 and kill all enemies in matter of seconds.

    As for the world and its many side missions, I guess they are okay , typical gta stuff, nothing more nothing less.
    Story and characters are mostly great. Apart from CJ ( who I found little irritating and Thruth ) . Story is pretty one dimensional and if there wasnt entertaining journey between first and last cutscene it would be pretty bad.
    Music in game is pretty horrible ( if you are not in the rap ) so thank god there is user track .
    Controls work, in most cases. Sometimes CJ wont get on bike for whatever reason, but that didnt happen to often.
    Companion AI like enemy AI is terrible. Most of the times he will run around the car like idiot while you are being chased which may end up in him being dead and mission failed. There comes another big issue , when you die all your weapons are gone , which is terrible detail and costs you a lot of time.
    Game world is big but some areas like woods and desert may feel little empty , but since this is a 10 year old game it isnt that big of a problem. Some pop ins are noticeable and sometimes can mean a police car spawning whitin 2 feet of you which can be really irritating. Graphics also cannot be that great because its such a big world , but they could separate fingers ( it look really stupid )
    All in all its very big game with incredibly long story line and hand full of both great and extremely irritating missions , but its still an experience worth having.    … Expand

    Aceptable port a PC del Clasico de Rockstar Games.
    Contiene mejores texturas que en ps2 pero encontraparte le falta algunos efectos graficos que tenia la version de ps2.
    Y por de defecto esta capado a 25fps (se puede desabilitar pero no es recomendable)

    I started GTA:SA several times but never finished it. But I loved it every single time. Tons of stuff to do, catchy story, great gameplay, good world design, excellent soundtrack. And the fun I had with cheats!

Однако, на мой взгдяд в игре как то всего слишком много, что с одной стороны круто безспорно, но вот как и бывает со швейцарскмм столом,ты можешл всё это есть, но возьмёшь только что то по вкусу.Сан интересный, культовый, механически крутой но... не мой. Никогда с ним не сталкивался ранее, и пускай игра действительно объективно лучшая в 3д вселённой как игра.     This game is a legend. Very fun and very enjoyable. It's technically a legend for the year it came out. And it's unplayable now because it's technically outdated. But it was a beautiful 76 hours

    The interface is wonderful. You have so much information immediately available to you. Google Maps always has a minimap in the lower left corner, which gives you a good overview of the area. Getting information about people gives you a clear, clear window. Hacking offers a menu with easily recognizable icons, so you always know what your button presses will do.

    The good parts of SA are the most of the missions, the excellent world, the great animations (not counting the extremely ugly graphics), the soundtrack and the voice actors which are making this game favourable, if there weren't many aspects that prevent this game to be one of the greatest of all time. These aspects are: The graphics are riddiculously and unbelievably ugly, for 2005, and the graphics are soo dorky awkward programmed that it WILL stutter even today on an extremely decent machine where I get on everything turned up max. 50 FPS (without Frame Limiting). This states that it was a very rushed PS2-to-PC conversion. IF done well, this could have been prevented. Next are the vehicles. While I do like the driving behaviour of some vehicles, most vehicles drive so awkward and unresponsive that I would almost threw one keyboard/gamepad after each other against my wall since the controls are so poorly executed that sometimes you get, combined with terrible collision detection, you hit the very very near edge of a stone and will get flipped over, ruining everything. Same goes for the flying controls which I think most people agree, are completely a pain in the ass. At the flying school missions, after days of getting nothing right, I quit the game there and never got any further than that in the game because of the controls. Also the game consists of many components (dining, training, RPG-system) which on the first look looks impressive, but being in the game for some 10,20 hours they appear poorly executed and could aswell be left out without the player missing anything. Someone was not thinking completely to the end here, especially the RPG-system which feels unnecessary as it is in the game, Rockstar didn't even try to implement it well. As for the conclusion this is very close a good game, but many aspects where ruined and all partially ruined aspects add up to the point that prevents the game from being one of the best games of all time. But the extremely great animations combined with the brilliant voice actors and the great soundtrack make me to some point ignore the game's flaws as stated above.… Expand

    Though the game is great so far. I have already found that the game crashes my system. When it happens the system reboots itself. I bought the game today and it has crashed the pc twice now.

    Some guys here are saying that ATMOSPHERE was better in Vice City than in SA. It's because Vice City is placed in the 80s. That's the only reason. 80s music has catchy melodies, which make people relaxed, there is 80s feel everywhere in VC. SA is hybrid. Mixure of new age and transition from the 80s to 90s.

    I've played the game since it came out and here I am deciding to finally review it in 2013. Though the PC version gets a 7 from me, the PS2 version gets a 9. What's not to love about San Andreas? You get all types of missions and side-missions, a huge world to explore, a very good story and downright excellent characters. As a bonus, you also get the RPG elements that spice up the gameplayI've played the game since it came out and here I am deciding to finally review it in 2013. Though the PC version gets a 7 from me, the PS2 version gets a 9. What's not to love about San Andreas? You get all types of missions and side-missions, a huge world to explore, a very good story and downright excellent characters. As a bonus, you also get the RPG elements that spice up the gameplay and really help you out in the long run, such as having longer periods of running/swimming, weapon dual-wielding and building up an NPC gang that can follow you wherever. It's a gamer's wet dream. Alright, now onto the downsides. The PC port is pretty bad. I'm not complaining about graphics being improved or anything for the PC, but Rockstar always gets lazy when it comes to PC ports. Look at GTA IV for example. The in-game settings don't stay the same every time you launch the game. You have to disable/enable the "Frame Limiter" option just to get certain game elements to work - and things like that usually make me quit playing a game outright and forever, but this game redeems that with the tons of positives. Apart from the PC issues, you're gonna come across those moments where a mission is insanely too hard or the AI doesn't work the way it should and it screws you in the end somehow. These are the same things you encounter in the previous games like Vice City and GTA III. Do these things break the game entirely? Not really. But can these things frustrate you greatly? Yes, very much so. Overall, if you're an old time gamer or a person just becoming a gamer, play this game. Just do it. Oh, and guess what? This game has two multiplayer mods known as San Andreas Multiplayer and Multi Theft Auto where up to 100 players can play on the same world. Be sure to play that too. Yes, both of those multiplayers are still being played.… Expand

    Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a great game. Even still in 2014 with IV and V out. But the game is filled with game breaking glitches, poor aiming, poor graphics/character models (even though that the game is 10 years old) and lots of features that are unfortunately useless.

    If you like GTA, it is worth the investment. I use to love GTA games when I was younger. Now though, I am more of a dark souls genre addict. If you are looking for a super easy game that takes little tact do it up. It is classic GTA, not much more to say about it.

    Gameplay is good, the game HAS gang wars and some activities that actually affect your game, giving you some bonus stuff, money ect.Not just some garbage looking car with some greenlights on it. And suprise,suprise! The game isn't easy beyond belief.
    Car physics is ok, they actually drive like a different cars, cars ARE destructible and actually take damage, unlike GTA V non existent physics and nearly impossible to destroy or damage cars.
    The game has big modding community, mods are really creative, and also really fun!
    For about 10 minutes...
    But unlike GTA V, the game isn't hostile towards people with mods.

    Por que sempre faço download dessa desgraça todo ano??? Todo dia a Mixmods tá lançando mods muito foda para esse jogo, e vem a merda da Tec Cu e fala "aiiiin MODDERS APELAUN", GTA SA é muito bom, SAMP e MTA só melhora a experiência do jogo. O problema é que GTA SA original de PC é uma bosta porque fecha depois de um tempo jogando.

    Got the pc version. The controls absolutely suck big time. How could they think of it.. steering with the mouse? yeah sure.. it just makes you hit shit when firing or braking with it. flying a modell airplane is just not done. driving a motorbike is so frustrating with all the shit that you can and will hit. all it gives me is hartproblems. especially missions were you have to shoot guys Got the pc version.     Graphics are not the best but with such a large city you just have to cut down on certain things.
    The storyline is pretty cool and fun.
    It starts pretty easy and fun but some missions that comes later was horribly hard.
    So unless you are a hardcore gamer on GTA then you are gonna need a trainer in those upcoming missions.
    Otherwise it has gameplay variety which is great.

    Только из-за того что игра плохая в этиз сервисах даю 6/10 а так игра на 8/10.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Story starts good and becomes boring right after you first leave los santos. They feel like busywork and fillers. It is just toooo long. Last return to LS missions are cool though. Villains are cool and memorable. Wish game gave us an option to spare one of them.

    Gameplay is dated terribly. Guns feel like toy guns and sounds are trash. Gun recoil is also trash. You start from beginning if you die(same as other 3D and 2D gta's)physics suck ass. Wanted level system is really bad and not improved. Map is not that good. It feels too empty and generic.

    But I also had fun with cheats. Which is one of the things that is not dated. You can combine cheats and do crazy sh1t. Flying cars, rocketman, riot cheat etc. It is so much fun. Going to gym and exercise or going to fast food restaurant and being fat. There are different dialogues for different body types. Clothing options(I just wish that changing cutscene didn't take hours)and customizing cars. There is also gang wars. Some gang wars are hard to provoke because some areas are too small. Many different vehicles and things to do.

    Camera control is really hard and frustrating. Cannot save where ever. Illogical events. You hit a guy walking with his mate and the mate doesn't even notice. The enemy fires at me and then the cops arrest me rather than the guy doing the shooting. Heaps of work has gone into this game but I really don't like it.

    I like the GTA series. I've passed the game on PS2 and PC.I've had no problems on PS2 but on computer there has been a slight sound problem. My sound won't play while raining.I've tried everything but nuttin' worked.I bought a new hardware and installed a new windows... I can't seem to fix the problem.

    Now i know, MODS EXIST, but im not feeling like going out of my way to look for user created fixes, in SA's case you need quite a few of them and they require 3rd party crap installed in order to work, so i can have a working damn product. Im not lazy, im just sick of this crap, with developers like R* not being able to see a bit down the road, while other developers of mid 00's did the effort. Its not even like my PC is uber modern, it still runs Windows 7, having such lazy port with just 4 years in between release of the PC version and W7 is just sad. Many people call GTA 4 the worst optimized R* game, well, let me tell you, San Andreas had it in the bag all along.

    Now the reason why im giving it an average score and not a 0/10 is because the game still can be playable and fun, its just that the crappy aspects of the port always creep their way in and do their best to ruin it.

    At its best, and by that i mean on PlayStation 2, San Andreas is a stellar game, with an awesome open world, really fun story and missions, cool characters, my man CJ and so much stuff to do, but on PC, it can, it will, be a pain out of the box.    … Expand

    Game is fine but is so overrated, like the story and characters are pretty average, the world is not a big improvement from its prequels, in fact i like Vice city more.

    Suffers from the usual rockstar gameplay which is the same with few improvements and additions in each title, its fine cause its a sand box but after vice city you dont feel amazed that much.

    Usually when i write a review on story games i review the story aspect not the graphics gameplay etc. Because when this game was being made there was great games with great stories they can't put a blame on poor story writing on 2000s game technology. A weird revange story with twists that took a good while to finish and made me question many times ''was this mission a necessity ?''     Disagree with the majority here, i think it's a poor piece of 3d programming. bad points: texture corruption, very difficult control system and poor graphical quality compared to other games. I am very disppointed with this product.

    Fun, but the missions just get me frustrated, It seems like they add stuff just to mess you up over and over... Also, in some missions, like the driving class to learn car moves, some of them are almost impossible with the settings I have, I try to change my settings, and something always makes it too hard, for exm... Doing the most difficult tricks with the PC is a bad joke. - 2 points And then there's there are the camera views, which are very sloppy work. -1 points. Music is much more worse than in Vice City. -1 points. The Gangster theme compared to Vice City's Miami Vice / Scarface theme is lame and boring. The plot, btw. is a illogocal mess ridden with boring cliches. -1 points. The good parts? There's much to play and explore. The area is huge. The sub missions are fun. TOTAL: 4 points… Expand

    The structure of the engine and the source-code are so convoluted and packed behind barriers, that modding is like stabbing yourself in the arse multiple times with a rusty knife!

    To say it simple:
    Modding for GTA San Andreas is a pure waste of time and ressources!

    Did you wonder why you only see maybe 2 Videos of a modded HD GTA San Andreas on Youtube and even less tutorials for modding?

    Its because modding this hostile software is a pain in the d***!

    You'll need at least 2 seperate programs to insert mods and before that you'll need to convert the whole game into an early non-steam Version and pray that it will even start!

    The process of converting can f*** up important core-files of your game, so its possible that you'll have to reinstall the whole mess again,
    and if you are one of the few lucky ones, inserting the mods can create graphical glitches
    or it just doesn't do it at all.

    And don't forget: All the external programs to make your GTA SA look like one of these high-polished YT-modder-videos
    are incompatible among themselves!!!

    So if you want HD-walls and that one particular remodelled muscle-car: Never gonna happen!

    You ever wondered why there are thousands of mods for Half Life, Doom, Quake and even GTA V ?

    Because the Programmers didn't hide their source-code behind a feck-you-sign like a underpaid worker in the love-business in paranoid-land!

    The game itself is plagued by clunky driving and flying-controls (mouse-steering isn't disabled by default!!!).
    You would guess they did at least get that right in a game mainly revolving around driving and shooting, but no.

    The Main Character is out of breath after 5 seconds of running and you'll have to go weight-lifting with QTE's to run a second longer.

    Also it lacks funny and extreme characters like in GTA IV and V!

    Best game ever made?

    Игра такая же как GTA Vice City но с лучшей стрельбой также появилась прокачка навыков спортзал и можно купить себе жильё. Но весь геймплей такой же как и в GTA Vice City и GTA 3!

    Nice work, Rockstar. After your last HD pack, you ruined the game forever. Not to mention that many fantastic songs were cut out of the game making this experience even less enjoyable now. I don't think anyone should buy this game now.

    The game gets boring after a point. People and places change a lot and you cannot adapt to the story.
    Also, NPCs jump in front of cars. If we evaluate it according to this time, it is below average. But it can be nice if we judge it according to that time. The only good thing is its open world and free roaming. Without them, the game would not be played.

This wasn't even worth the reduced $15 price tag with all the bugs (patch released for fixes doesn't work for V.2, but the patch fixes those bugs - just plain stupid Release Management).     How can a game be called Grand Theft Auto when there is no wheel support for PC. For a game that has lots of driving involved, I can't believe Rockstar didn't have the competancy to include support for a wheel. Anyone who thought they might be hooning around the streets, "Driving" their car, will be severly dissapointed with this lame offering.
