    Just your usual hack and slash GTA game, where you do missions, and wreak havoc on Liberty City. Not the most amazing plot I've ever come across, and I can't say I'm too impressed with the game overall, considering the constant tweaking I had to do with the settings in order to make this poorly optimized PC port run smoothly. Not horrible, but definitely nothing to get excited for.

    This game one of the best games of 2008 . Gta 4 not bad . Normal graphics for 2008 , One of the worst storyline in Grand Theft Auto IV . Many people think Gta IV is worst Gta game , but many people think this game is amazing .

    A great technical advanced engine and very nice graphics, but a boring and slow paced game, with a childish story a cheesy dialoges like a b class movie, very bad, thats in my opinion ruins the game play, nothing very original, a very dark sad climate on the city and overall, a not persuasive protagonist, a 7 score is a very optimist view on game, i gave that score in respect to the effortA great technical advanced engine and very nice graphics, but a boring and slow paced game, with a childish story a cheesy dialoges like a b class movie, very bad, thats in my opinion ruins the game play, nothing very original, a very dark sad climate on the city and overall, a not persuasive protagonist, a 7 score is a very optimist view on game, i gave that score in respect to the effort of programmers and people who archive that technnical superb work, but not a super fun game! sometimes in the missions you feel like doing some work really, not relaxing and enjoying. thats bad… Expand

    In general this game is less fun to play than GTA 5, but in many areas it is better and more detailed. Also, PC port is bad.

    Good games, still some problems with FPS in 2019, but great city, and good stories. Is relaxing arrive at home and going trough the city doing what you want.

    Now that microsoft live is out of GTA IV I decided to give a honest chance to this game, obviously installing some mods to fix the atrocious color pallet chosen by Rockstar Games, I'd rather poke my eyeballs out with a fork than play the game with the original colors, I'm sorry!

    Pros:
    +Great story, great storytelling
    +Alive open world with much room to explore and lot of things to do
    +Driving is very well done, the physics engine, although sometimes buggy, feels very smooth
    +Has great character development on most acquaintances throughout the game, but just enough to not get into the territory of repetitiveness
    +Missions and plot does not feel repetitive or filler in the early and mid stages of the game

    Cons:
    -Terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE optimization, the PC port is plain garbage
    -Severe waste of potential on some absences like having different haircuts, customizing cars, weapon customization and/or variety, or having a wider variety of places to hang out in / activities to do
    -Tedious secondary character interaction in the form of dating and hanging out with in-game friends
    -Repetitive and frustrating 100% checklist
    -Missions and plt DO feel repetitive and filler in the late stages of the game    … Expand

    Отличная, долгая игра с самой "фановой" физикой в открытом мире. Стрельба, симуляция гильз и пуль, повреждений мебели, езда, транспортные повреждения, кулачный бой и конечно же прекрасная симуляция попаданий во врагов благодаря Эйфории. Играть чистое удовольствие. ДЖИПИЕС на миникарте - для одибилевших швайноимбицилов.Отличная, долгая игра с самой "фановой" физикой в открытом мире.     Nice game with a good storyline. Interesting drama. The developers for the first time decided to abandon one ending, which I think is the right choice. I can not call this game a masterpiece. Yes, I liked her, this is a breakthrough for her time, but she is not good enough for me. In addition, she has poor optimization.

    My pc was not ready then and the game was like ultra not ready for any pc back in the days. So... For story would be 8 but the optimalisation ruin that so it's 7.

    Із гарного це атмосфера та фізика. Усе інше душе унило. Хтось скаже, що тут реалістичний сюжет про тяжке кримінальне життя. Вибачаюсь, але сюжет дуже затягнутий.

    Техническая сторона порта не дала насладиться игрой на момент выхода. Из плюсов, отличная физика, хорошее радио, отличный город и симуляция. Сюжет скучный и растянутый, цветовая гамма навевает тоску.

Although I got it, another problem came right away and that was optimization. OK. It's a fact that my PC at the time was not among the elite of the PC Master Race, but I still expected a smoother game. In the end, I had to settle for low detail and 20FPS. Well, somehow I survived. I really wanted to play the game. I'm a fan of the GTA series and I fell in love with San Andreas. So I had to play the fourth part at all costs, but it just didn't work out very well. What I was looking forward to was multiplayer. I could already imagine shooting with a friend around the city. He is horrible here because of the already mentioned platform, because Games For Windows LIVE gave me a nickname in advance and it was just really bothered with it, but I still managed to join a friend in the final, but after a while it starts to be totally nothing if you are free in the city and do not complete missions. Golden SAMP, where there was always something to do. OK. I've mentioned enough of my disappointment here. Unfortunately, this is not the end of it. While the previous parts were still adding something, for some reason GTA IV is taking away. I don't know if the Rockstar Games didn't have enough time or just decided not to put things into play that we could happily do in San Andreas. We are talking about diving, for example. Maybe stupid for someone, but I personally enjoyed diving a lot in San Andreas and here it could have been many times better thanks to the new engine on which the game runs. Also, we can no longer change our body based on what we eat or strengthen. I understand that not everyone has been a fan of our character changing according to how we behave, but what I don't understand anymore is that we don't have the opportunity to fly a plane here. Damn why? Since the airport is here, I was looking forward to flying over the Liberty City plane, which I will get to. But I'm at the plane, I press the enter button and nothing. Unfortunately, the error was not on my side, but on the side of the developers. In short, you can't fly here by plane. What totally stopped me was the control. The developers here probably tried for realism, which I would say they would succeed, but GTA is not a simulator for me, but a real violent game where you kill everyone around and do what you want. You can't do a lot of things here because of this more real physics, such as the stunts that were born in San Andreas and were buried here and were subsequently revived in GTA V. So now maybe off with a hat and now for the good. I've already bitten the new engine and city. The game looks really good compared to previous parts and has definitely shifted graphically. Liberty City is so dark and maybe someone could say dead, and I believe it won't suit people. But in my eyes, the city had a kind of charm and overall it contributes to the darkness. In comparison, the previous works were quite "cheerful". Really don't forget those quotes. I mean the overall atmosphere. GTA IV is simply darker. Whether it's the city or the soundtrack. GTA IV Theme, please, in my opinion, is one of the best game soundtracks. If the Rockstar Games did anything here, it's the dark atmosphere that the game has. This is also helped by the main protagonist Niko Bellic, who came here to live the American dream and he gradually finds out that it is completely or according to his plans. Overall, the story is, in my opinion, perhaps the best in the series. The missions may not surpass San Andreas or Vice City, but the plot is perhaps the best GTA. The mission simply looks more realistic, for example by being able to cover the corners. At least for some reason, the realism here was good. What's next crack new is the cell phone. Someone has called us here and there before, but this time you have the option to pull out your mobile phone when you want to, and for example call your cousin Roman if you don't want to go to a bowling alley. Yeah. Bowling. At least they added something here and didn't take it away. In the finale and after all, after all, when I just thought they couldn't even do this, Rockstar Games is a good game. It's all about the story. But you have to accept that this is simply not the GTA that we are used to. Unfortunately, all this knocks the game and underlines this to the fullest GFWL for PC versions.     There is a mod called 'Definitive Edition'. I recommend you to play the game with this mod. It largely solves the optimization problems it has. Game is absolutely awesome.

    I think this is the most overrated gta ever. It does nothing better than gta sa, so many things got worse. There are a few open world activities, they are boring. Driving physics are simulationistic but that is unnecesarry because that makes the game even harder when driving. Because it has good physics, that doesn't make the game better. Channels like Crowbcat just make it like "Omg AlWayS OLdeR gAmEs aRe BeSt!!" and show it unnecessary crap things. This game is one of the rockstar's biggest faults… Expand

    Well it's GTA so I liked it, but the port for PC was abysmal. The main character is not as memorable for me as the previous ones, but overall not bad. And let's not forget "Nico, you wanna go bowling?".

    GTA IV's story was my favorite one among the other games in the series. However, I had 2 significant issues, leading to a 3 point drop in my review.
    1 - Aiming was not sensitive to small mouse movements. When I aim for someone's head, I need to move the mouse upwards very slowly. However, the game does not pick up the small movements, which makes your cursor stuck just underneath my    GTA IV's story was my favorite one among the other games in the series.     2 - There were huge bugs, although extremely few. At a certain point, I needed to spam the space button as a mission objective, but the button was not working. I had to completely change my graphics settings in order to make the space button work in a mission.
    Other than these 2 issues, the game was very amazing. The acting, story, story presentation, the freedom in your choices, and variety of friend activities were all perfect.    … Expand

Не, простор все ещё большой, хотя как будто бы есть какие то рамки или не знаю.. ещё этот фильтр желто-серый, как будто я просто вышел на улицу в России. Не то чтобы я прям мечтаю играть в "уныние".     Худшая из серии GTA. Все любили гта за свободный мир, тут же огромные ограничения, банально на хватает самолетов.     Саундтрек офигенный, физика топовая. Радио "Владивосток" вообще топ. Отдельно меня эта игра порадовала присутствием в ней песни Виктора Цоя "Группа крови". Но не всё так радужно. Геймплей хреновый, почти точь-в-точь, как в Сан Андреас. Провалишь задание в самом конце - начинай всё сначала. Оптимизация ужасная. Бывало фпс 45 при нагрузке на ГП в 50%. Графика такая себе.     Das Spiel war für seine Zeit extrem innovativ und hat eine phänomenale Spielwelt. Hinzu kommt eine packende und lange Storyline. Leider gibt es bei der PC-Version einige Bugs, welche einige Story-Missionen zum Scheitern verurteilt (7/10).

    There is an optimization problem that would not be expected from a company like Rockstar. After the excellent optimization of GTA 5, I did not expect such a thing. Computers running GTA 5 without problems do not run GTA 4 without fps drops.

    πολύ Καλό game Ειδικά για την εποχή του ήταν κορυφή τώρα πλέον θα το έβαζα τρίτο πρώτα το GTA 5 μετά το San Andreas μετά αυτό, αλλά στο PC που παίζω εγώ έχει πολλά Bugs και μου σπάει λίγο τα νεύρα για αυτό και το 7

Anyway, in GTA 4 there are no conveniences like in GTA SA, you can't customize your character, you can't tune cars, you can't use planes, although actually GTA 4 couldn't do that because Liberty City, you couldn't explore the water world.     I understand that the authors of the game, the Houser brothers, are essentially writers. I would not like to insult them with the word graphomaniacs.

    Многие считаю гта 4 худшей частью серии, мол задания однотипные, принеси, подай, отвези, убей. Но на это я закрываю глаза, ведь история Нико, с этой темной атмосферой Нью-Йорка пробирает до мозга костей. Этот белградский сукин сын завоевал мое сердце. Его история лучшая во всей серии
    7 раст из 10    Многие считаю гта 4 худшей частью серии, мол задания однотипные, принеси, подай, отвези, убей. Но на это я закрываю глаза, ведь история Нико, с этой темной атмосферой Нью-Йорка пробирает до мозга костей. Этот белградский сукин сын завоевал мое сердце. Его история лучшая во всей серии

    Chase and kill missions are so boring. we are going to get money from someone who does not follow constantly and pays his debt. without this missons game is good
