Nov 6, 2022The main problem with Gotham Knights is not its level of quality. It's that it could have been far superior, comparable to the past titles in the series. The key ingredients for the success of the franchise are here too, but either in a limited or undermined form, by the commercial direction the title has taken towards the looter territories and indeed, the more mundane ones at that.
-
Oct 25, 2022Gotham Knights has the positives and negatives of an open-world RPG. The only thing that sets it apart from other experiences is the setting.
-
Oct 24, 2022In the end, Gotham Knights is, like the studio’s earlier contribution to the saga, Batman: Arkham Origins, a decent game haunted by the notion of not being the main event.
-
Oct 21, 2022While Gotham Knight did a much better job than I expected, it's a slightly above average game with a weak open world and not indistinguishably different playable characters.
-
Oct 20, 2022Despite the good Batman atmosphere and a proper main story, Gotham Knights suffers from repetitive gameplay and a lame open world.
-
Oct 28, 2022Gotham Knights tries hard to escape Batman's shadow and still delivers a compelling full-length brawler, but feels assembled by basic action-adventure with pieces that feel all too dated.
-
Oct 25, 2022The experience of playing Gotham Knights is dull. mediocre plot, hollow open world, equipment system in a mess, the fun of multiplayer mode is also limited. Although this game did not give me any strong negative feedback during playing, I still do not recommend players to buy it. After all, you can have many better choices at the end of this year.
-
Oct 21, 2022If you're fan of DC and Batman you can give Gotham Knights a chance when its on sale, stay away otherwise.
-
Oct 28, 2022While fun at first, the simplistic, bland combat and boring navigation makes the game less than it could have been.
-
Oct 27, 2022Gotham Knights, which can be described as mediocre at best, doesn't really know what it wants to be or how it would like to sell its story at any stage. No gameplay area of the new Batman game can truly shine, and as if that isn't difficult enough, the great Arkham series adds an extra burden to it. And that's what Batman died for?
-
Oct 20, 2022Gotham Knights is no Arkham, not by a long shot. Competent enough, it takes us into a fantastic recreation of Gotham City, unfortunately marred by activities that become recurring after a while. The combat starts off interesting, but becomes a repetitive waltz, stuck in a shallow crafting and loot system. Helped by a solid storyline, Gotham Knights is fun in short doses and can be an enjoyable experience in multiplayer.
-
Oct 20, 2022Stealth, however, is the biggest disappointment in Gotham Knights. Where Batman infested the city’s crevices, his underlings merely invade them: you can work together to set up terrain traps or create distractions, but it’s a world away from the older series’ puzzlebox intricacy and it’s always more fun to barge in swinging.
-
Oct 20, 2022Its colourful cast of characters handles Batman’s absence well, but mismatched features and puzzling progression means it trips as much as it triumphs.
-
Oct 20, 2022Warner Bros. attempt at getting things going again with Gotham Knights feels largely flat thanks to unwieldy movement and a world that is more “checklist” than immersive, but in small doses it can be fun, and the heroes all feel unique and work well in co-op multiplayer.
-
Nov 14, 2022A Batman family that couldn't get out of Arkhamverse's shadow. The game design structured around Co-op shows a lack of motivation. So many problems with monotonous combat, empty Gotham city, insufficient hero abilities, optimization issues and so on. A screenshot of Gotham city from photo-mode is the only thing that comforted me.

Oct 20, 2022If you aren’t a Batman fan, I’m not sure that there is enough that stands out that dropping full retail on Gotham Knights is a smart move. The game could certainly use some patches, the full four-player mode isn’t out yet at release and I feel like holiday releases may quickly overshadow this game. That isn’t to say that there isn’t a great concept, but like Batman, it's crushed to death under all the debris.
-
Oct 20, 2022Gotham Knights is a game about stepping out of Batman’s shadow—not just for its troupe of caped crusaders, but for its developer too. While WB Montreal have crafted a solid action game that casts off some of Bruce Wayne’s looming presence, it’s just far too marred by extraneous loot systems, technical woes, and forgettable writing to wholly recommend. And given how cutthroat Warner Bros. has proven itself to be over the last few weeks—butchering entire networks and catalogues of shows with a hatchet man’s glee—I can’t help but feel that the game won’t get the support it desperately needs.

Oct 20, 2022Listen, Gotham Knights has the tiniest shreds of goodness, perhaps tapping into the primal urge within all of us to make the numbers go up. I just don't want to play it again, which says it all for a game that's designed to worm into your brain and keep you coming back for more of its bazillion currencies.
