This is a short game, about the length of a movie (little more if you're bad at puzzles), but it's worth your time.

Brilliant game. I have never seen a puzzler so perfectly done. You can finish the whole game in about 2 hours, but it is well worth your time.

Whoa GOROGOA rules! I was so proud of beating this one without a walkthrough. Playing games like this must be how people who like games like Myst feel, except way more streamlined so even impatient people like me can enjoy it.

A 2-hour game, but one of the best games I've ever played in my life, seriously it's that good. It amazes me that such a simple game could be this good. The main concept of the game is something completely new and fresh, offering a different way to play a video game.

I won't go into details, because the only way to experience is to simply play it. The game is quite short (we went through it with my daughter in a few hours), and I recommend it to everybody, especially to people who are normally not gamers.

10/10 - if there is perfection, this game is pretty close.

This is a beautiful, compelling and simple game. It's really relaxing to play with no time limits and a childlike simplicity. My girlfriend really enjoys playing this with me. It has a nice sleepy magical storytelling feel, perfect for the Xmas holidays.

When you're 42 and have played video games since you were eight and got a Spectrum 48K for Christmas, you don't often get a chance to play something utterly unique, but when you do, in a limited sense, it's mind-blowing. Gorogoa is delightful. It's relaxing and fun to play, a trial and error puzzle game drawn and designed so gorgeously, you start to think the creator of it must be a genius.

Elegant yet simple, it conveys no particular message yet still causes the player to think. The music and art design work seamlessly to allow for an immersive experience. While the gameplay is short, the cost is still worth it if you enjoy games that focus on story telling. My favourite game that I've played this year.

It's a great game (amazing art style, unique gameplay, compelling story) but it is short. Apparently, some people finish it below 1 hour, although I wonder about someone's appreciation for the game if they're rushing through it like that. Took me about 2 hours.
On iPad, it's definitely worth the price but on PC, for more than 10€, I'm a bit miffed that it's not longer.

Beautiful 2D games, that use 4 panels to create puzzles. Not a very long game but the puzzles are progressively more difficult. No dialog or voice over, this is a mute game, but it is great to look at with it's unique drawings. I think that maybe the game could have given more emotions. I give it a 90% for the amazing simple mechanic and good artistic impression it left me.

This game has a surreal feel to it, and I think that's because it breaks a lot of traditional puzzle design standards. Normally in puzzle games you learn basic mechanics that repeat and you can fall back on your understanding of those mechanics to figure things out. This game doesn't really do that. This reminds me of the old point and click adventures I used to play, but this is probably the only title I've played where I was enthralled to experiment instead of frustrated. It really is a genius game. It's short and sweet, but well worth the money. This is an experience I won't soon forget, and is one of the best artistic indie games I've played. Expand

Excellent, but, unfortunately, very short work. Definitely deserves attention. 2D hand-drawn puzzle with perspective, angles and fantasy. A simple but interesting game for several hours if you get stuck somewhere in it. I would call it not a full-fledged puzzle game, but a very successful little experiment.

Gorogoa is a unique and beautiful puzzle game. The illustration is superb and the storytelling is done through the frame of a picture book. You explore memories and shift your perspective to solve some pretty unintuitive puzzles. I'm too dumb to beat it...

Gorogoa is one of those bite-sized games. Less than two hours long, this game is quite short, but it is a solid little puzzle game that involves a lot of lateral thinking.

The core of the gameplay is quite simple – you have somewhere in the realm of 1-4 tiles on screen at any given time. They are arranged in a 2x2 grid that you can rearrange at will by clicking and dragging. You can zoom in on certain spots in tiles by clicking on certain designated locations, you can move around in the tiles by clicking little arrow buttons in them, you can zoom out by clicking a – button… and, well, you can move them.

This seems like a very limited set of interactions, and while in one sense it is, the game is very clever in how it uses them.

Trickery like putting one tile on top of another when the front tile has a “hole” in it in the appropriate location allowing a character to move from one tile to another, or combining two tiles into one, is a common trick. So is zooming in on something and being able to drag the “frame” off of the object, revealing a scene beneath. In this way, tiles can be added and subtracted, and the game uses other tricks, like aligning tiles next to each other so that things can walk or travel from one to the next, or to have something become a continuous lever or shelf, resulting in you being able to displace objects.

There’s all sorts of clever things that the game throws at you, and the puzzles, despite their simplicity, do actually require some amount of lateral thinking, as your options are so limited you must be able to figure out SOMETHING – but it can take you a bit to get the key insight as to what you must do next.

For all that I liked it, however, it is a bit of a shallow game – the story itself isn’t particularly interesting and while it is attractive enough (and has some interesting tricksd up its sleeve), it is still an indie game.

And while I wouldn’t want it to be any longer – south of two hours is about all you’re going to get out of these mechanics without getting overly repetitive – it is still a very short game, so if it bothers you that it is less than two hours of gameplay for $5 on sale, you might think twice.

Still, I thought it was alright, and enjoyed it well enough. It made me feel clever for solving some of the puzzles, but at the same time, it’s not exactly a “blow me down” level of quality – if you never play it, in the end, I don’t think your life will be poorer for it, but if you like puzzle games, this is worth a shot.

You will be hard-pressed to find a puzzling game more beautifully crafted as Gorogoa. Everything from its music to the hand-drawn puzzle frames ignites the imagination to keep search and digging for more. Even with its short length, Gorogoa is a satisfying game. It is also an exercise in asking questions about our own devotion and the lengths that we might go to in order to connect with the divine.
