Jun 4, 2018You will be hard-pressed to find a puzzling game more beautifully crafted as Gorogoa. Everything from its music to the hand-drawn puzzle frames ignites the imagination to keep search and digging for more. Even with its short length, Gorogoa is a satisfying game. It is also an exercise in asking questions about our own devotion and the lengths that we might go to in order to connect with the divine.
-

-

-
Jan 5, 2018Gorogoa is a clever, well-balanced tile-based puzzler that shines through its visual illusions. If you’re seeking an innovative game with unique brain-teasers and gorgeous graphics, this game is for you.
-
Dec 27, 2017Gorogoa is a very unique game that feels like the life work of the studio or of a master in art. The puzzles are innovative and intuitive, making you feel like a genius.
-
Dec 20, 2017Through its characters, its designer, and its player, Gorogoa keeps an outsider’s perspective in a present state of mind. Straightforward action—shifting panels and considering different points of view—doesn’t preclude logical twists or emotional complexity. In only a couple hours, Gorogoa creates a window into a daydream and a companion to despair.
-
Dec 18, 2017Gorogoa is an exquisite point-and click game that’s not like anything I’ve played before. It occupies a spot somewhere between a puzzle game and an interactive graphic novel.
-
Dec 17, 2017As with so many of its puzzles, Gorogoa is content to be a matter of perspective.
-
Dec 14, 2017Gorogoa is a brief but beautiful foray into mystery. But its puzzles are elegant rather than elusive, relying on internal logic and a cohesive exploration of the main character’s psyche and the world around him.
-
Mar 7, 2018Gorogoa is a unique and amazing puzzle-game that deserves an opportunity, for the bravery of it's creator and because we need games like this in the industry to make it going forward.
-
Dec 20, 2017A gorgeous surrealist trip masquerading as a puzzle game and a soulful meditation on the true troubles of mankind, wrapped up in Jason Roberts’ evocative artwork, Gorogoa speaks directly to an inner child that you believed long gone. Essential.
-
Dec 12, 2017A unique puzzler that doesn't last for long, but its worth every second it gives us.
-
CD-ActionMar 14, 2018An innovative, brilliantly designed puzzle game that everyone will enjoy regardless of their age. [02/2018, p.40]
-
Jan 30, 2018Gorogoa crafts its inventive, sliding-tile puzzles and magical world with a graceful simplicity across a compact but fulfilling adventure. The excitement of solving each puzzle may be lost on a repeat playthrough, but its hand-drawn art and clever payoffs are no less satisfying to watch unfold again and again. Gorogoa manages to say so much without uttering a single word, endowing it with a mystery that invites a more attentive, thoughtful revisit — and one that I was more than happy to accept.
-
Jan 19, 2018Gorgoa is an elegant piece of art, but also a unique journey through a wonderful surreal world. Jason Roberts puts the player in his own lifetime puzzle, and finding a way out requires to look everything from a brand new fascinating perspective. Maybe the journey is too short, but it’s definitely worth a ride.
-
Jan 5, 2018Gorogoa is a tremendously designed puzzle experience that rewards creative, out-of-the-box thinking. Though there were a few, rare moments where frustration blemished the ride, the game is so authentically unique, beautifully illustrated and wonderfully scored, that it’s impossible to not be enamoured by its potent, singular vision.
-
Dec 22, 2017Clever and beautiful. Gorogoa is a unique puzzle game that delivers an incredible sense of surprise. It's short, but you will enjoy the experience so much.
-
Dec 21, 2017Gorogoa is a very good small game with very good puzzles and a lovely artistic sense highlighted by a sublime soundtrack. On the downside, we would have loved a little bit more playtime as the games offers little more than two hours of enjoyment.
-
Dec 14, 2017A fantastic feat of interlocking storytelling and design.
-
Jan 21, 2018The first look of Gorogoa might remind you the gameplay of Framed and Monument Valley, but once you get into this game, you will find Gorogoa provides a special experience, using a mass of creative interacting logic that is different from any other games. Even the most hardcore puzzle gamers can be moved by this great work.
-
Dec 22, 2017An original and different kind of puzzle, that comes wrapped in a gorgeous aesthetic. It lasts little more than the blink of an eye but... What a ride.
-
Jan 29, 2018Beautiful, hand-drawn puzzle game that enchants the player with elegantly nested puzzles and a story without words.
-
Jan 9, 2018Gorogoa is a wonderful and clever puzzle game, a little gem unlike any other and a fantastic experience. A strange and unique tale told through enigmas, that everyone should try.
-
Dec 18, 2017If you thrill in playing games that represent the sweat and tears of a developer, Gorogoa is a great game to purchase. It's absolutely gorgeous, and I found it supremely meditative.
-
Dec 18, 2017The art is stunning, the atmosphere fascinating, and the puzzles are incredibly devious and clever. Gorogoa might not be a long game, but it is easily one of the most engaging puzzle games in recent memory.
-
Dec 13, 2017While Gorogoa is one of this year’s shortest experiences, it’s still one that’s worth checking out, as it turns a relatively simple idea into one of the year’s most compelling and innovative puzzle games. Its eye-popping artwork may draw you in, but it’s the superb brain-teasers where you warp around entire worlds and a narrative that leads to some surreal visuals which will keep you hooked until it ends. You may never look at a mere four comic panels and the storytelling that can potentially occur in them in the same way again.
-
Dec 20, 2017It'll stick with me as a piece of art to admire, but not as a video game to enjoy.
-
Jan 28, 2018An intelligent puzzle game, Gorogoa certainly tests your logic skills, but it also forgets to really teach you how to handle later chapters when things suddenly get much more complicated.
-
Dec 12, 2017Gorogoa’s artist and designer, Jason Roberts, clearly had a vision with this game and I applaud him and everyone else at developer Buried Signal for making it a reality. But I struggle to recommend this experience, because whatever emotions Gorogoa was hoping to convey, I simply did not feel them.

Dec 12, 2017Even as a short-and-sweet game, it's hard to say goodbye to Gorogoa's story so soon.
-
Dec 12, 2017Inspired and transporting, this is a game unlike any other.
-
Dec 12, 2017More than anything, the feeling that dominated throughout was one of magic. Its impossible logic made so much sense, its undimensional structure somehow coherent, so long as you allow yourself to float between the solving and the unsolving. It is that suspended place, between confusion and understanding, reality and impossibility, that makes Gorogoa so bewitching and enticing. [RPS Recommended]

Jan 11, 2018There’s a rare, beautiful harmony between how you play Gorogoa, how it tells its story, and the lesson it seems to be imparting.
-
Dec 14, 2017Gorogoa isn’t a long game, nor is it a taxing one. It’s more of a smart and intricate toy. Its tone may be serious, but the overarching theme is curiosity. You see something, guess what it might do, and then try it for yourself. There’s a good chance you’ll be right.
