It'll stick with me as a piece of art to admire, but not as a video game to enjoy.

An intelligent puzzle game, Gorogoa certainly tests your logic skills, but it also forgets to really teach you how to handle later chapters when things suddenly get much more complicated.

Gorogoa’s artist and designer, Jason Roberts, clearly had a vision with this game and I applaud him and everyone else at developer Buried Signal for making it a reality. But I struggle to recommend this experience, because whatever emotions Gorogoa was hoping to convey, I simply did not feel them.

Even as a short-and-sweet game, it's hard to say goodbye to Gorogoa's story so soon.

Inspired and transporting, this is a game unlike any other.
  3. More than anything, the feeling that dominated throughout was one of magic. Its impossible logic made so much sense, its undimensional structure somehow coherent, so long as you allow yourself to float between the solving and the unsolving. It is that suspended place, between confusion and understanding, reality and impossibility, that makes Gorogoa so bewitching and enticing. [RPS Recommended]

There’s a rare, beautiful harmony between how you play Gorogoa, how it tells its story, and the lesson it seems to be imparting.

Gorogoa isn’t a long game, nor is it a taxing one. It’s more of a smart and intricate toy. Its tone may be serious, but the overarching theme is curiosity. You see something, guess what it might do, and then try it for yourself. There’s a good chance you’ll be right.

It's also over pretty quickly and the story won't stay with you since there isn't much of one.

I can appreciate the huge work to make the game but it's not a patch on games like Braid or Fez in terms of satisfying puzzles. I'd encourage you to watch the first 5-10 mins on youtube first before parting with your money.
