The game is visually stunning. The combat is great, there is so much to the combat that it will take you some time to master. The amount of content in the game is what you would expect for a newly released game. There are some bugs that need to be addressed, but the devs are listening and have released a couple patches either more to come.

Fantastic game, so much fun with a friend. Combat is great. Has some problems for sure. Definitely worth getting but if you are not a fan of looter genre wait for a sale. Reviews below 5 point are just a joke. Don't take it seriously. I'm sure this game will be %80-85 positive when it come to Steam, like Ryse: Son of Rome did.

A bug filled travesty of poorly optimized and half finished content. Menu systems that boggle the mind, scaling that makes about much sense as **** on an elbow, and an upgrade economy so oppressive Hitler would be proud.

Then they stepped up their game, they really gave me my fix. Complete radio silence from the PR team at Counterplay Games - signifying they were likely still being held in Gearbox's gimp cage as slaves.

What was it I was looking for all along? A cure for my gaming addiction. Godfall - much like Anthem - brought me back down to earth. I need this every few years, a break from halfway decent games to great games - a romp into the strange travesty that is something that could have been amazing but failed to deliver in all but one or two aspects (the graphical quality and combat systems are great.)

Godfall delivers. 10/10. $60 is a bargain when compared to addiction therapy!

I think the game will only get better as time goes on, we could also use a world map, just a few quality of life updates would make this a better game than it is! But i think it's a solid and fun/beautiful hacker slasher looter RPG! I can feel the old destiny, 2 crew, in this, they have basically hit the mark of my expectations and exceeded them at the same time! Definitely worth a try, if you're into this sort of game! It could do with matchmaking for the 3 player aspect of the game (you can only invite friends from your friends list to your game) But overall an enjoyable shiony experience so far! I just earned a third valor plate, i really like the art designs in this game! Expand

Godfall is an 8 and a half hour long action rpg looter slasher game.
You’ve been betrayed by your brother whos corrupt with power, youre thrown off of this tower and its time for you to ascend and take him down.. instantly you feel like a god, the combat here is so fluent and fun and it only gets better the deeper you get into the game, learning new skills and finding new loot, this is the hook of the game and I love it, youll be going through these 3 different worlds, taking down enmeies to level up, occasionally they’ll drop ear and there will be chest to find full of gear, you then take the weapons and gear you like, slvage the rest, and use the scraps to enchant weapons you like all the way up to legendary, and I love it.. I love running through these dungeons, taking down the main target, and just changing up my gear…. Certain items you find in the world you can use to actually unlock new armours that have their own special fury attack.. I loved trying new characters and armours out.. though I would’ve loved to be able to copy my augments like I am with my weapon loadout hwne I want to try somebody new.. but these different armorus encourage you to build up and save different weapons, as you might be in a st that specializes in fire type weapons that cause burn damage, but theres and armour set that gives boosts for poison, or chilling damage.. I just love the idea of creating different legendary loadous for each of th armour sets… so no matter what, loot is worth searching for much like a borderlands game, even if your satisfied with what you have… these unwanted items just make you more and more powerful… so what are the bad things in godfall?
Simply the destiny aspect, Godfall wants oyu to and even forces you to go back and replay missions to progress its story, it wants you going back and exploring the same 3 worlds over and ver again, and while the game is beautiful, the worlds aren’t really fun to explore…
Traverse throough and kill everything in your way? Absolutely… seek out adventure on your own? Not so much.. its an eye roll when its time to grab these items from earth, water, and air relm before you can take on an areas boss, I would’ve much rather had a straightforward rpg game here and went back to explore by choice…
Other than that Godfall is an absolute blast, this game is great and the rest of the world are a bunch of haters…
Godfall is addictive and fun.. and while the world is lacking in any want to explore beyond credit roll, you can.. but im personally happy with an 8-10 hour long god building session…
    I give Godfall
    an 8/10

It has a lot of combat mechanics and really badass bosses.

My complain would be to the fact that there are only 5 Weapons, all of them really fun, but I don't like that all of them have the same main combo (Light, Light, Light, Heavy). This might be done so that everybody would familiarise more easy with each weapon, but I would've liked more distinction between weapons in combos.

There also bugs and glitches but I haven't encountered anything game breaking. Sometimes the UI would get his for no apparent reason and sometimes I could not Light attack anymore. But these didn't require me to restart the game, they got fixed on their own. Also it's a shame that it doesn't have matchmake (I doesn't effect me much because I already have my friends to play with) but sometimes the party would get broken after a cutscene/dialogue, which was annoying.

The point of the story is to drive you to get in combat and get loot (the typical vanilla Destiny 1 story) but it does have lore if you are interested, in the form of collectables (Dark souls style). I didn't have any expectations for the story, nor should you if you want to enjoy the game for what it is.

After reaching the endgame and if the developer address these issues/bugs then I will change my review score. Currently I am really excited to play more and more of this game.

While there is *much* room for improvement concerning the half-baked story and mechanics, it does have enough to scratch the looter/shooter itch. There is so much unrealized potential for this game, that if followed through, would indeed justify the AAA price tag. Here's hoping for massive amounts of updates and (free) dlc.

Godfall is like if you take phantasy star online sort of levels, make them prettier, throw in warframes but make them knights instead of Ninjas in a sci-fi like setting with a fast-pace but slightly jank combat system. I found combat is satisfyingly and fun. light attacks build up extra damage on enemies unleashing it with a follow up heavy attack.
There are flashy move power moves and it's always fun to throw your shield and what it clunk against the side of an opponent's head knocking them down and setting them up for a finisher.

The games problems however come from a paper thin story, only having three zones currently to explore, and samey objectives. While I found the combat fun it did have some issues with the camera movements, making it so you have to rely a decent bit on the lock on at times. I also haven't made it to end game just yet so I can't speak on it but I am certainly willing to believe the other reviews mentioning how grindy and repetitive it can be from what i've played before.

Overall most people will find this game simply average and not worth the current price and I certainly can't fault them for that. I just happen to fit into the target audience they were going for.
The type of player that enjoys getting a friend or two and enjoying a bit of mindless hack and slash fun for a couple hours at a time.

A game that requires internet to play does not have Matchmaking? I understand the game had to be rushed due to the PS5 launch. But please don't mess it up with the expansion!

Godfall has a fun and decent combat and beautiful graphics, and that's it. Everything else is bland and uninspired, with laughable story and a world that is beautiful but feels lifeless, even with the hordes of enemies. It's a fun game if you just want a good combat to play with, but if you're looking for your next gen experience, this is not something to look for.

+ Boss battles are challenging and fun
+ interesting skill tree, abilities, build diversity/flexibility

    The cons:

    - Story is absolutely paper thin and cringe
    - There are no real levels, just big circular area's where you just look for items, chests and ultimately head for the objective (be it a boss, fetch or getting items). Was bored with this style of gameworld after the initial area so now i would just scan the area a little and head for the objective, this is the biggest flaw of the game in my opinion. There just isn't anything BUT the combat with very dull item collecting.
    - Ofcourse then the level design is an obvious flaw
    - No jump (thus no jump abilities) God of war is plagued by this as well. Look how much you can do with air combat and gameplay in for example Nier automata

The graphics are pretty "meh" for a 2020 game. There's a heavy grainy look that can't be disabled, and the reflections cause/add to it as well, and they can't be tweaked.

There's an issue with shadows causing huge FPS drops in certain areas. Have to set them to medium or low to fix it.

I do not like games that confuse "really hard" with "fun", but this one seems to go in the opposite direction. It's way too easy and there are too few enemies.
But now after making it to the 2nd big boss fight the difficulty is ramped up tremendously to where it's one of those bosses that you dodge their attacks for 20 seconds, hit them once or twice, then repeat that sequence a dozen times. Really dumb. Really boring. Really annoying. And the next bosses only get worse - hit them with your special attacks, run around for 40 seconds while dodging their attacks and waiting for your special attacks to recharge, repeat 30 times.

Much of the combat seems very unresponsive and thus frustrating. Seems like there are some good ideas that could/should be greatly improved on, and other things that should be removed. Much of the combat can be really annoying.

It's designed so that you're supposed to break things to gather money, but there's a huge delay between the time you break the item and when you can collect the reward, so I just stopped breaking stuff altogether and completely ignored any upgrades & resources.

There are no check points or saves. You have to complete the entire mission or you lose all progress. Then they have these "explore" missions, and the only option is still to "abandon" and it warns you you'll lose all progress. Have to look it up online to find out that for these specific missions, once you complete a certain task you can "abandon" and not lose progress.

The buttons you're supposed to press to do combos aren't even readable, so I have to look them up online.

I get a new ability (siphon) and it seems like it's not even working. Had to look up a video of how to use it, and even then it doesn't seem to be working...

Uninstalled the game once I got to "grieves sunsteel". Garbage game. There are notches on the bosses health bar where if you damage him past the notch and die you revive and he goes only back to that notch instead of full health. Yet it didn't work. I got him past the notch and he was at full health when I was revived. Just way too many frustrating things like that - including the way sprinting works, and the design/uselessness of many of the abilities. And the game ends before you even get to max out and use all the abilities.
