Can rate the game as "1" as it's just starts and I hadn't caught a single crash during the full-campaign playthrough (11 hours). Though there are bugs and glitches, some are really annoying: when you kill the boss and follow-up quest just doesn't start, so you have to abandon a mission and repeat from the beginning. Everything else is a disaster.

Everything else is a disaster.

    1. Storyline - there's none. Go kill bad guys, go grind boring missions to get "quest items" to open bad guys locations, repeat x10. I think there are smth like ~70 maximum sentences overall been written to tell you the whole story, though it's enough - there's no story. At least your average school essay "How I spent my summer on lockdown" would be much more interesting.
    2. Graphics - It's acceptable, could be better, but it is what it is.
    3. Looting/Crafting - totally useless. And it's a disaster for an ARPG game, especially if you like minmaxing your gear and stats. There's no need in crafting valorplates, you can finish the campaign with a starting one on "hard" difficulty. Life stones, charms, banners - don't even bother. Take any from the floor - equip and repeat the mapping.
    4. Skills - oh god why? The most basic skill tree ever. You can max out anything - you still don't need anything besides dodge lvl 1 and nothern techniques lvl 1. Resistances, spirit, vitality, might? Don't even bother. Re-roll is for free, you can't ruin anything.
    5. Combat system - lol. Thrash mobs are thrash, they are just there for slowing down your mapping experience. "Location bosses" and "Act bosses" are mostly mannequins, it takes ~30 seconds to learn the attack pattern while dodging around. Not a Souls experience. Not even close.

TL;DR take Destiny and Souls gameplay, make it as boring as you can, cut off everything, don't bother with storyline at all, sell it with full price AAA project.

Go better buy smth else or just watch TV.

If you want to play God of War with a terrible story line, useless grinding, and frustrating level design than this is the game for you. This game is the cherry on top for the 2020 COVID crisis. Welcome to "Anthem". If I could sum this game up in as few words as possible it would be two of the following:

God of War combat, Destiny style loot, and a story most 3rd graders could write in an hour.

Other than that, here's the problems. Combat has major issues. It's clunky and frustrating, and so full of particle effects that when 4-5 enemies are around you can barely see what you're doing. Also, there's NO animation cancelling. So you like that greatsword or hammer? Get ready to be animation locked for over a second every time you hit a button. Parry and dodge both can't be activated during an attack.
It's very souls-y. By the end game, even with a balance of might and vitality, getting 2-3 shot by virtually every boss is a given. And with combo moves and an overabundance of invulnerability/invisibility/flying phases mixed with ground effects, getting hit into ground fire (which I swear 90% of the bosses use) makes you burn, then a follow up kills you while you lay in the fire.

The end game is literally "enhanced" versions of all the story bosses and mini-bosses, except they have more AoE and ground effects. Then at max level, there's even further "enhanced" versions of all the bosses. It's completely braindead in it's design and getting loot doesn't even feel good.

    Bottom line?
    $60 artwork, $20 gameplay, $5 fun factor, $1 story.

If you're in it entirely for the graphics, go for it. Otherwise just play anything else.

Another example of a lazy developer putting out trash simply hyped up as a next-gen title because it shines, regardless of the game freezing every time a medium-sized enemy dies on all platforms. AAA Cashgrab, focusing on nothing but "oh shiny, oh wow particle effects! 10/10" reviewers.

Developers hopped on the $70 price-hike train, charging more money for less and less quality. No, your next-gen shine and particle effects leap is not worth an additional $10. Mods do the same thing for 10-year-old games free of charge.

The game is poor quality, combat is copy-paste and boring. Maps are copy-paste with different filters (Oh Shiny, still!). Basically, it's a decorated hallway simulator.

No campaign at all. AT ALL. Farm the same 5-minute missions (go here, kill that) 20 times to collect tokens to unlock doors (mobile game???). Open the big door a couple of times, the game is over. Oh, and you talk to two different NPC's about how bad the bad guy is every once in a while.

It's bad guys. Really, it's pathetically bad. The fact that this was hoisted as a true next-gen AAA experience during all this time (and NOBODY at Sony realized how truly awful this was) is concerning, and a bad, bad sign for this new generation of games. Also, just goes to show that Sony doesn't actually have a single clue about what a videogame actually is.

Avoid. Avoid. And if somebody gives it a 10/10, avoid them too. It's either an attempt to combat buyer's remorse or an employee.

The graphics, while they look nice in trailers and screenshots, are actually quite garish in game. The art direction is one note, with overwhelming bloom everywhere you look, pretty much one environment type, and goofy looking enemies.

There is really no story to speak of, just a pretext to have you fight stuff. No characters to care about, no depth at all in the writing.

The control system feels clunky to me. In all the trailers they show you switching between weapons mid-attack, dancing around the map, etc. Well the weapon switching is a gimmick. There are a couple skills you can level up that allow you to do this, but it feels pointless, and any type of free flow or creativity in your fighting style is not encouraged. It's more like a fighting game, and not like Dark Souls: Learn the moves, or button mash. Either way you'll be fine.

The camera is a chore to deal with, as even when you're locked on to an enemy the camera doesn't focus on them, so you have to control the camera with one stick while controlling the combat as well. Why not focus the camera on an enemy?

I'm going to jump back in and play it a bit more, because I really like ARPGs, (though I mostly prefer top-down ones, like Path of Exile), but I'm guessing I'll walk away in about an hour like I did the first time I played it (no, I haven't finished the game). I got this game for free when I upgraded graphics card, and even still I'm pretty disappointed with it. Amd also gave me a World of Warcraft expansion. WTF? I don't even have the base game, and how is WoW supposed to show off a powerful new graphics card??!! Anyway that's beside the point.

At this point Gearbox is zero for two in 2020. Hopefully they can get their act together. Not everything has to be a looter-shooter/looter-fighter. That's basically what this is. The ONLY thing to discover in this game is items and skills. Hire some writers, Gearbox. Video games are a mature platform now, so do try to catch up.

Now they've released a 25 GIGABYTE patch (about the same size as the initial download) which fixes very few things according to the patch notes and seems to make it run way worse on my PC. Good job.

The game visuals are horrendous - the style can only be described as Donald Trump's wet dream. Everything is golden, everywhere, everything is shiny as hell and there are more particles effects than racists at a Trump rally.
After all this I thought at least the battle would be good - wrong! It is godawfall! There is no balance, there is no input queuing, some foe animations are completely unblockable due to the fact that there are no queues as to when they will attack - they just do. Boss fights are just a frustrating mess due to the tight camera angle(can't see the whole battlefield and all enemies) and the moves they employ - You can only fight with melee weapons, yet they can fly, spam fire and set the ground on fire - you can only run during this whole time and you can maybe hit them twice when they tough the ground. Who decided this was okay? Are these guys high?
The loot is pretty meh - It has stats that makes sense but for the most part you won't get anything good.
The level design is atrocious. All levels look the same, there is no map and it is just a link with tight corridors that lead to arenas and that's it.

The suits, ah, the suits. Don't bother unlocking them either - they only look different - they play exactly the same. No deviation whatsoever, except for the special attack and even that is the same for like half of them. Terrible!
I really wanted to like the game, but I can't. I feel cheated I spent $60 on this garbage.

Controls at first seem to be cool but the further you're in the game the more clunkiness you stumble upon. Targeting system is so bad that i think it's actually broken and was never repaired.

Camera is way too close to the player - I assume it was a design choice due to focusing only on your target, but come on it's annoying as hell

Graphics are somewhat annoying, too much particle effects with a lot of bloom, nothing is clear. You basically just pick up shiny stuff hoping that the next time you open your inventory there will be some good stuff. Didn't really like the art direction. Textures sometimes look really low res, even on the main character. btw. changing the emission on the player character texture when talking was amateur move.

Let's not talk about the story, it's cheap as hell, not interesting at all - The game feels like a mobile game on steroids.

Also there's some nasty bugs - You can die while browsing your character/equipment menu from dots effects. Targeting UI is sometimes glued to a random spot on the screen killing the immersion.

I'm trying really hard to find something nice to say about this game, but it's been such a disappointment. If you really like just pointlessly slash your way through a horde of meaningless creatures without a real possibility of failing, then go ahead, you'll be more than satisfied.

The gameplay is highly repetitive and the required game mechanics moves are far from being clear or easy to follow with either keyboard or controller. For a game that spent so much time in development, the amount of glitches is quite impressive though. Within 40 minute of gameplay I've got trapped, unable to move or jump in any direction, twice: once next to a tree and the second time next to a chest; highly frustrating. The entire game feels like a low effort Android-based indie from more than 10 years ago. The game lacks spark, it has no originality and it is very rough around the edges.
I received my copy of the game as a complimentary gift for an RTX 5700 XT. Well, AMD should have shopped around a little more, this game is an abomination. Even the 'epic' graphic settings, 'AMD optimized' by the latest graphic card drivers are quite subpar for 2020.

    2. The bad controls with keyboard and mouse is so bad. They require you to press weird buttons like Q+C or E+C at the same time, mid-battle while you're controlling your character with WASD. And I am using a keyboard and mouse for ALL my games. I'm at that point I think a controller is kinda dumb when NOT playing a platformer.
    3. Game launches in 720p "Fullscreen windowed", when my desktop is running 4k, how is that possible? I don't know! I tried setting it to Fullscreen and 4k with HDR, which looks amazing in comparison. But..
    4. Game doesn't let you alt-tab out. This is very annoying and..
    5. I was unable to set the setting back to windowed or fullscreen windowed. It just wouldn't go away from fullscreen once fullscreen is set. This is clearly a bug, but an annoying one on top of all these points.
    6. You don't have full controll over your character. This game falls into the "For Honor" problem, where you're committed to a swing, you can't block or dodge, and a lot of games does this mistake imo. Many people compare this game to Warframe and Dark Souls. In Dark Souls, you can roll whenever you want! You have full control! In Warframe, you have JUMPs, wall running, wall latching of epic proporsions. This game doesn't even have a jump. You use C to "jump" whenever it's needed. and C to use chests. Why isn't E the default one for using objects? Yes, you can rebind keys, but the skillscreen doesn't reflect your new keybindings either, and it's still kinda awkward to press Q+E instead of Q+C, but it's a tad better.
    7. Hearing about the endgame, not being for the casual made me sad. That you have to really "test" your build, and that the endgame would be more rogue-like in the sense that you have to do content over and over if you die at the boss in each Dreamstone. Making endgame just for the 5% hardcore players is a terrible idea imo, as they will loose playerbase really fast, if they can't have players of all types hooked at endgame.
    8. No matchmaking.
    9. No maps or mounts.
    10. No live service! Most looks at this as a good thing. But honestly, it's not. They release a game with bad decisions or missing features that would be a requirement in 2020. And no live service, means no content being added, no features being added. Only expansion packs(in forms of DLC) could still bring more content and features. But then if that happens too often, then what's to say this game isn't a live service game? If it get's DLCs often, it has multiplayer, it's online-required? MTX is the only thing missing, but that's not defining a live service game imo. It's more of a dedication to keep adding things to a broken game, to make it better. Which this isn't having. (And Outriders looks to be heading the same direction!)

Only good things with this game right now is its fluid combat(except for those pesky strange combos) multiplayer(but why not 4 players?), and good looking with pretty limited open world.

It's an average game at best. The story is extremely shallow and boring. This game depicts itself as a looter slasher. Loot looks the same through out the game. No real rewards from defeating the bosses and so far you cannot go back and defeat bosses. There are a total of 12 repetitive missions with 3 worlds. The worlds are exactly the same except with a different tint. I played the earthIt's an average game at best. The story is extremely shallow and boring. This game depicts itself as a looter slasher. Little content, endgame is just a trial with never-ending enemies in a tower, and no real rewards when leveling up. The RPG in this game is I'm guessing the valor suits. There are total of 12. Half of which does the same exact thing just with a different element. So far there is no real use to different elements. It's an average, cash grab game that was supposed to release the same time as cyberpunk. I do not recommend this game. Mediocre at best. Expand

Visuals are nice. Combat is unique and exciting. If you like looters, get it on sale.
The overall experience of the gameplay was far from what was shown in the trailer. There are only two npc's you can interact with, limited script, paper thin storyline. Easily beatable in a matter of hours.
If you came for a story about gods and their creations.. you'll find that in the 'lore' tab.

Godfall is an astonishing next-gen tech demo. Which is, honestly, the only positive trait of the game. Apart from that, it just delivers 10 hours of repetitive hack and slash gameplay and a tedious story worth a third grader. [Issue#308]

A visually stunning game, Godfall suffers from repetitive combat and a lackluster story that is forgettable after the first hour. In an industry with so many Dark Souls-style games, this is not one to spend time on.

Godfall only succeeds in creating interesting combat systems without giving any thought to the world and story around it.
