    - He is actually a 2018 game, and the graphics performance in 2022 will not lose to any game today.
    - Immersive movie one shot to the end.
    - The top of the action game, the swinging movements are so smooth.
    - It's better than ML !!

    It's more like a movie than a game, but the main thing that pisses me off is that a head hanging from my ass and a 7-year-old child is constantly giving me advice, and the game never gives you the opportunity to solve things??? dude i am god of war do you think i really need a 7 year old's advice?

    game-play and combat are extremely boring and like 6th generation games also boss fights are repetitive

    This is the OG, this has all the good of the restarted GOW. The sequel Ragnarok throws all the good out of the window, I can't believe they made the game even clunkier than some crap like AC Valhalla.

    It's a good game, PC optimization is not bad either. But once you finish it, there's no point in playing it again, and it's not a game that can be compared to RDR 2.

    RDR 2 should have gotten the Goty award in 2018.

    Great game! I've played the previous entries when I was younger (even if I reckon I did not had the age to do that) and I liked it and so, but always thought Kratos was an jerk and never related to him. For me, the previous entries where just an excuse to see gore and boobas on the PS2. But damn, this 2018 entry... I even started to like Kratos after that. Good freaking plot, and theGreat game!     Mükemmele yakın bir kombat, inanılmaz bir sinematik anlatım, keşfetmesi eğlenceli bir açık Dünya. God of War gerçekten bir başyapıt. En büyük eksisi boss savaşları ve bazı bölüm tasarımı tercihleri biraz tembelce geldi. Ancak iyi yanları tüm bu eksikleri gölgede bırakıyor.

    This game is just very awesome. Don't skip it, is a true MUST Play. A new beginning for Kratos, i've hoped that had a third game but... Ragnarok is already here.

    This game is great both in terms of graphics and in terms of gameplay. It's good that this beautiful game is ported to PC and it brings a wonderful experience with a good system.

    my thoughts about this game are so weird, should I compare this game to Red Dead Redemption 2? I can't even decide whether to do it or not.     One of the best story driven games I have ever played. The gameplay is buttery smooth and left nothing desired for me. Rarely have I felt more attached to game characters than with Atreus and Kratos. I went the full length and got all achievements on Steam, which I rarely ever do. I really hope Sony decides to publish Ragnarök in the near future.

    Exceptional visual and sound atmosphere.
    Nice story.
    The gameplay is enjoyable but not transcending, sometimes frustrating.
    Boring "platform" phases and QTE that belong to the PS2 era.

    The game is great. The sound, the exploration, the visuals are superb. I think the story was OK, nothing impressive. Also, if you want to take on the harder challenges, it involves a ton of grind and I mean a ton, there is one zone that requires about 50 clears which is way too much and some of the collectibles are annoying.Go for the story and the interesting side objectives but don'tThe game is great. The sound, the exploration, the visuals are superb. I think the story was OK, nothing impressive.     God of War sin duda es un paso adelante en la franquicia que eclipsa a los anteriores que, en su mejor caso, eran mediocres. Y es que GoW reinicia en muchos sentidos la franquicia y la cambia profundamente en todos los sentidos. Primero, la historia, ahora importa y tiene interés y no es una sucesión de estupideces por justificar más violencia gratuita sino que hay una evolución deGod of War sin duda es un paso adelante en la franquicia que eclipsa a los anteriores que, en su mejor caso, eran mediocres. Y es que GoW reinicia en muchos sentidos la franquicia y la cambia profundamente en todos los sentidos. Primero, la historia, ahora importa y tiene interés y no es una sucesión de estupideces por justificar más violencia gratuita sino que hay una evolución de personajes, muchos más grises, etc. Además, el tratamiento de la mitología (aún con algunas libertades) es mucho mejor aquí que en lo anterior, lo cual para mi es muy importante. Añadimos a esto una jugabilidad realmente buena, que brilla en todos sus aspectos desde el combate a la exploración, y el juego es realmente redondo. Quizás le habría venido bien algo más de progresión en el árbol de habilidades y esas cosas, llega un punto que si eres un poco completista tienes muchos más puntos de experiencia y dinero del que realmente vas a poder usar jamás. Y sin duda le habría venido bien algo más de variedad de enemigos, aunque los que hay son suficientemente diferentes entre si como para que no se note demasiado. Y tengo sentimientos encontrados con respecto a la región de las nieblas porque no entiendo por qué meter una región a farmear en un juego así, si no es por alargar las horas de juego artificialmente.

    Gráficamente el juego es espectacular, con escenarios y localizaciones muy diversas y que van cambiando con los eventos y unos personajes muy detallados y cuidados desde en sus animaciones de combate a las expresiones faciales, etc. El sonido es igualmente impecable, con una música excelente, unas voces que transmiten un montón y unos efectos de sonido perfectos. Además, al menos en mi partida, no me encontré ningún bug. Eso si, el port a PC debería haber estado algo más optimizado y sin duda no hay justificación que se me ocurra para que no haya una opción para poner el juego a pantalla completa.

    Pero vamos, algunas sombrillas puntuales en lo que es una experiencia excelentísima que realmente vale la pena. Una maravilla de juego. Un 9.    … Expand

    Might be the best graphics I've ever seen in my life. It was an amazing game and I enjoyed every second of it. Although some of my friends thought it was a very bland game, I really liked this game.

Visually the game is very appealing; however, the dialog was very boring. The game is very slow and Kratos doesn't live up to the hype as a chacter in my opinion. That being said there is a neat dynamic between father and son. I'd say my biggest gripe is the tedious upgrade menu being pretty hard to navigate and the gamsplay is repetitive and uninspiring . I couldn't engage myself in the combat. I know many may disagree but I give this game a 7 at best. I tried returning the game but couldn't because I played over 2 hours of it on steam. I can't seem to get myself to beat the game. This has pushed me away from trying ragnarok now.    … Expand

    As this being one of the first PlayStation games on PC as it being GOW, it is also one of the best on PC it has ever had. A port from the classic PS4 game, God of War on PC like PS4, exceeded and succeeded all of the expectations to be the masterpiece that it is.

    یعنی واقعا فوق‌العاده بود، انتظارم از بازی ها به قبل و بعد از این تقسیم میشه. واقعاً عالی بود
    چقدر داستان زیبایی داشت، عاشق داستانش شدم

    Let's start with the good: the combat. The combat is great, it feels great, it's super fun. Weapons have good feel to them, the feedback from striking enemies is good. The bad: everything else. The story is just some world building that doesn't go anywhere or gets resolved. The exploration and movement is a **** CHORE. There are these hidden loading    Honestly, highly overrated.

    Let's start with the good: the combat. The combat is great, it feels great, it's super fun. Weapons have good feel to them, the feedback from striking enemies is good.

    The bad: everything else. The story is just some world building that doesn't go anywhere or gets resolved. The exploration and movement is a **** CHORE. There are these hidden loading screens all over the place that make it quite annoying to move, not to mention that the Dad moves at snails pace. Dad can't even jump or do any sort of platforming, but rather you can press a button to interact with a ledge, watch a mini cutscene and jump on it. As a result, backtracking in this game is physically painful.

    Most of the game is a linear corridor, however that is disguised with fake verticality and platforming sections that amount to a lot of cutscene watching.

    There is also typical American / Hollywood propaganda here. Kratos (men) is useless and has a bad relationship with his son, Freya (women) of course is the opposite. It's all so tiresome. Makes you wonder in what kind of home were all of these writers raised.    … Expand

    God of war actually has no rhythm it's too slow . one of the most important part of a game like this, is fighting gameplay but fighting in this game is a complete garbage and so fast it will get boring.

    Eine sehr coole Vater - Sohn - Götter Story. Die Grafik sieht wirklich fantastisch aus, läuft komplett flüssig und hat keine großartigen Bugs. Ich bin begeistert wie flüssig man zum Beispiel Ketten runterrutscht oder hinaufklettert, das sieht so gut aus, total echt und hat dazu noch einen tollen Klang. Es gibt nicht sehr viele Waffen und    God of War ist ein herausragendes Game.

    Es gibt nicht sehr viele Waffen und Fähigkeiten, dafür sind sie aber sehr gut umgesetzt und mit weiteren Fähigkeiten auf eben diesen perfekt abgestimmt, somit gibt es auf jeden Fall mehr als genug für´s Gameplay!
    Die Rätsel sind nicht zu schwer, aber auch nicht direkt sehr leicht, insgesamt ist einfach alles sehr gut gebalanced!

    2018 foi realmente o ano dos jogos!

    Acabei de finalizar o jogo e é incrivel o nivel cinematografico e de enredo que esse jogo possui, sou um grande admirador da trilogia original e demorei muito a jogar esse pela mudança drastica de gameplay, mas é impressionante o nivel de detalhe no jogo juntamente com a sua Historia, facilmente o jogo com a melhor historia da franquia, uma aventura    2018 foi realmente o ano dos jogos!

    I'm not really a Playstation guy, but I gotta say, this game is probably one of the best games I've ever played. At some parts, I am walking, which is in my opinion a minor thing compared to how good the combat is. As someone at IGN would say "it's like dark souls but it meet's Norse Mythology." But I would say that the combat is cool in it's own way. Don't get me started on the story.I'm not really a Playstation guy, but I gotta say, this game is probably one of the best games I've ever played. The story is presented nicely but never progresses beyond a kid (your son) complaining and making remarks which grows tiresome. Game really drags near the end.     GoW has profound lore and story. The groundwork of the gameplay is solid, and the art department did a phenomenal job. In the beginning, enemies felt a bit spongy, but as Kratos learned more moves, the combat became exponentially more fun. Especially after getting the Blades of Chaos, combat switches into high gear. I found myself clenching my controller, grunting, and even screaming as I lay waste with the chained blades.

    The story is very deep for a game of this genre. The relationship between Kratos and Atreus is too real at times. I love how we never see some of the characters like Kratos' wife and Atreus' mother Faye, Odin, and Thor, and yet we get to know so much about them. Especially the build-up of expectation around Odin and Thor captivated me, and I can't wait to play Ragnarok on PC. All the supporting characters were interesting, and I never got bored of Mimir's stories.

    There are only a few things that keep this game from being perfect for me. The spongy enemies in the early-game, have lots of fillers like long transition animations, and backtracking, and on higher difficulties, the enemies get even tankier.

    Overall I loved the game. I had a long un-scratched itch for action-adventure games like Prince of Persia, Darksiders, Soul Reaver, Beyond Good and Evil etc.    … Expand

    This game is close to perfection, have some little problems like repetitive mobs, couples bosses and end game is just grind. Optimization is good, graphic also good, story enjoyable I will say, don't wait this game will change you're life, but you will enjoy the story and this game.

I am a total newcomer to this series and part of the appeal for me was the new Norse mythology series which started with this game. Now I did not expect any miracles in terms of graphics, but boy was I wrong. The game look stunningly beautiful, super hi-res textures, greater Norse colors and several huge breathtaking animations (mostly in the first parts of the story). In this regard, the game was spotless. It must have been quite a step up in graphics quality from the PS4. Next thing I loved is the lore. Norse mythology appeals to me quite a lot and this game is full of it. Actually that was the thing that brought my attention to the God of War. Obviously the developers bend the mythology here and there to fit their God of War universe (quite a lot actually), but I think it is done with love and I had mostly no problems with it. Next thing is the music, which was great, topical, non intrusive. And all these together make up the atmosphere of the game. Obviously it was fantastic. So far so good right? Well there were a few things I did not like about the game. Now the story as such is not bad, but generally it is a little bit predictable, I do no like that. Before I started playing I thought I would have tough time with the kid, but it was not so bad, Atreus kinda grew on me a little bit. The relationship between him and his father is maybe a little bit one-dimensional given that it is the centerpiece of the whole game. Sometimes the game cannot hide its console roots, for example the controls are really console like, I do not like that. The combat is a bit souls like, also not my favorite way of combat, but not bad either. The map is stupid, you cannot really zoom in or see paths or anything really. And the manual save (probably added for PC only?) did not work for me at all, any time I tried to load a manually saved position, I started at a previous checkpoint regardless. I played on hard difficulty and it was plenty hard for me, I never really thought about trying the highest difficulty. The story and the whole game really, is pretty short and small in size. Marginal horse armor type microtransaction and no SJW bull at all. Wow, I almost did not want to believe that. Good job.

    First few hours really got me, I was thrilled and thought this was gonna become one of my all time favorite. But then it kinda ebbed away and I was left with conflicting feelings, I was entertained but the game initially promised more. It is a pity that it took them four years to release God of War on PC. Like PC version is only an afterthought? As a PC master race, I find this unacceptable. Final Verdict: 83 %    … Expand

The story is also really good and i love that kratos actually over time tries to be nicer to his son like in those scenes where he ALMOAST tries to cheer his son up.     Honestly for 2022 this game isn't that great. There is a lot of reused content and reused boss fights, side stories are also not that interesting. Main story, cinematic fights and kratos carries this game really hard tho while gameplay is just good.

    The game causes motion sickness. It needs a FOV adjustment and they need to stop forcing it on players. We dont want forced TAA and Depth of field. Modders had to release a fix for this while the game devs remain stubborn and silent. Thats tells you all you need to know. They would rather ddletee posts than allow users to run narive resolution without forced TAA.

    I finally had the opportunity to play God of War, which I could never play for a long time because I never had a Playstation. I have to say that I am biased towards the game, because there is a Game of the Year issue that we all know. GoW stole Game of the Year from RDR 2. Yes, he stole it. At least that's what I thought. After playing RDR 2, I had never, ever (for a long time at least)I finally had the opportunity to play God of War, which I could never play for a long time because I never had a Playstation. I have to say that I am biased towards the game, because there is a Game of the Year issue that we all know. GoW stole Game of the Year from RDR 2. Yes, he stole it. At least that's what I thought. After playing RDR 2, I had never, ever (for a long time at least) convinced myself that no game could ever be this good. How good could GoW be? As I do in every review, I will examine GoW in 3 stages and try to explain how good a game it is.

    Let's start with the art design first. GoW looks great. Simply great. I have never seen realms in Norse mythology portrayed so beautifully. Nilheim's irritability, Jotunheim's gigantic and sublime portrayed so beautifully that this game. Realms is the first part of the game, of course, but it's not just that. The game looks beyond great indoors, too. Recently, games have been trying to avoid the quality of the coating and give importance to the lighting, aiming to both look beautiful and not put a load on the graphics card. But GoW has better skins that I haven't seen in a long time. Of course, although this upsets players who do not have good graphics cards, you can turn down the settings whenever you want. When we leave painting and go to music, we come across great music again. While the music isn't very characteristic, it's certainly not just epic war music. It was perfect for any music playing situation. The character voiceovers are also absolutely fantastic. It looks like they worked hard on the effects, even though it wouldn't normally be noticeable. Especially how beautiful the sound of that ax moving is.

    Story. As someone who hasn't played previous GoWs, the scenes referring to previous games even got me excited. Even though I didn't play it, I knew what a concept it was after all. I can say that I absolutely appreciate the game as a father-son story. The characters really make sense, nothing is rushed. As his father, we can watch Atreus grow up and change as he learns new things. Well, since we are not such a great father, it turns out to be a pleasant story to follow. However, my favorite part of the story is definitely the last 5 hours of the game. There is also a marvelous finale during this time when the enjoyment of the game is definitely at its maximum. So much so that this finale was made to get people excited for the next game. Although I am not a close follower of the series, I am curious about Ragnarok.

    Let's come to the subject where GoW failed the most compared to the other two categories. By the way, it's still one of the best games in terms of gameplay. However, the most mistakes are seen in the gameplay part. For example, the game's biggest flaw. There is no boss fight in the game. There is, but there is little. So the number of special bosses in the game is very small. However, boss fights are incredibly enjoyable. Normally it's not that bad to kill the same boss multiple times, because you'll see how much he's improved and how much easier he can kill now, but if you're killing that boss 6-7 times it's just boring now. The special bosses of the game are very enjoyable. Tired of the cinematic of the main bosses and looking for a challenge for yourself? Go cut the valkyries. The game is definitely enjoyable in terms of fighting mechanics. Whenever you get bored, you open a new feature and start using it. I'm not even counting shooting arrows with the guy next to you. Most begin to play a critical mission in war. Atreus is such a beautiful piece that for these fights, if you ask in the game, no one will say that he controls 2 people. But yes, we control two people in this game. Although the game does a lot to prevent you from getting bored, unfortunately, the variety of enemies is not enough after a while. However, this is just a minor fault of a very good game. It's not a big criticism.

    GoW is a very enjoyable game. I still don't think it's better than RDR 2, but I used to think it was incomparable. The two games are pretty comparable. Gaming tastes certainly vary from culture to culture. GoW is a very cinematic game. And a more refined game. I mean, you are playing a game and you are aware of it. RDR 2 is almost a simulation.     The only issue I had with this game is the beggning, I think at the start the game is too difficult, even for me, a Souls series fan. You don't have many moves and you have to fight enemies that you don't have yet the tools to deal with them, like enemies that shoot projectiles but you don't have the skill to redirect their projectiles or you have to kill Nightmares but they need the Chaos Blade for easy killing or the Witches needs more arrows that Atreus have. But once you arrive at mid-game these problems simply go away and in the late game, the game becomes easy. BTW, I've played all the game on the 2nd hardest difficulty.

    Another thing that I really think they need to improve is the number of enemies, especially more epics bossies. This game has few bosses throughout the story, I think it is the GOW with the less quantity of epic bossies (Gods, Dragons, mythologic creatures). In the late game we can fight the nine Valkyries, but don't let this number fool you, their moveset is practically identical, they are just a cheap reskin. But the fight against them is really cool, it is a really good late-game challenge. It is a shame there aren't so many more bosses because the combat system is awesome    … Expand

    Needless to say, things get a bit complicated, the Norse gods get involved, and before you know it you are off on an adventure through… well, the majority of the nine realms of Norse mythology, though in truth most of your adventure is in one realm (Midgard, i.e. the world of mortals) with your excursions to the other worlds little more than brief dungeons or series of challenges at most.

    The game is not enormously long, but it has a huge amount of side content which greatly stretches out its length. There’s a lot of places to explore and treasures to find, but the game is actually a bit short on actual monsters to fight.

    The problem is, the game actually runs out of new things to show you surprisingly early in its length. While there’s ostensibly a number of types of enemies, in reality there’s only a few actually different types – basically a very fast one that jumps on you, a standard melee trash mob, an enemy with a shield, an enemy with a big hammer, an enemy that throws ranged attacks at you, a teleporting witch, a big hulking ogre, a werewolf, trolls with big clubs, some flying enemies who shoot blinding things at you and then engage in melee, some other flying enemies who shoot things at you and sometimes buff enemies, and trolls.

    The game shows you all these types of enemies pretty early, though, and as a result, it feels like the game runs out of things to throw at you long before the game’s length ends. It doesn’t help that there’s really only five bosses apart from the trolls (which are very similar to each other) resulting in the game feeling like it is lacking for actually interesting combat content – which it kind of is. You fight some bosses multiple times (for story related reasons, but still) and unfortunately, it kind of becomes old hat by the end. The nine Valkyrie bosses do try to mix things up a bit themselves, and are the most interesting boss fights in the game, but they, too, get repetitive after a while.

    For all the spectacle that the game has, the game’s combat is honestly pretty mediocre – and that’s very unfortunate, because there is a fair amount of it.

    This is broken up by exploration, which is okay, but nothing super amazing – it’s pretty standard “puzzles”, but they’re all very simple and mostly are pretty much the same, just “the puzzle pieces are hidden differently”.

    Really, the only thing the game has to make it stand out from the competition is presentation – but fortunately, it does have that in spades. The voice acting is really good, the characters are fun to interact with (even if Kratos himself is mum about things for much of the game), and if you are a fan of Norse mythology, you can see all sorts of fun references in here, along with the game’s various twists and attempts to make the gods the bad guys (because, this is, after all, God of War, the series infamous for deicide – and while gods do die, you will likely be disappointed by the number, though fans of Norse Mythology will also be able to predict who is going to die and more or less how).

    The game’s core relationship – between Atreus and Kratos – works well, even if it is frustrating at times with just how taciturn Kratos is, but you can see how scarred Kratos is from his past experiences. The game, then, is about Kratos coming out of his shell a little while his son has to figure out who he is and what is going on. Atreus helps out in combat, and also helps with some puzzles, and while none of it is particularly spectacular in execution it works well enough.

    All in all, I felt like the game stretched itself out too long relative to its interesting content – it added two grindy sidequests for no good reason, as the combat is not anywhere near good enough to justify them, and it just adds to the length of the game without adding to the main thing that the game delivers on – the story of the relationship between Kratos and Atreus and their role in the world, including Kratos’ own undesired role, as he clearly detests his own nature as a god and fears what his son will be like when he realizes that he, too, is a son – trying to keep things as low-key as possible while avoiding giving too much away.

    All in all, the game's presentation saves its mediocre gameplay, and the side content is too often a boring distraction from the main thrust of the game.    … Expand

    Beautiful game, and I love the fact that they have "original" graphics settings to match the consoles graphics, that being said it very much has the issue that most Sony games have where the world missions and side content feels the same and thrown in just to make the game a little longer. It very much felt like a god of war game was with horizon zero dawns formula

    God of war is truly incredible game, it has everything. Interesting plot, characters, nice gameplay and fight system, amazing setting and design.

    I only found 2 problems for myself in this game: a fully linear world and a lot of collectables. If second thing is pretty easy to skip, first one is fundamental problem for me since i'm enjoying freedom (e.g. dishonored, prey and arkane games    God of war is truly incredible game, it has everything.     I only found 2 problems for myself in this game: a fully linear world and a lot of collectables.     I don't have a console background, but for a PC gamer this game is very linear boring and repetitive platformer/slasher.

    Open world? None. Exploration? Not there. Creative quests? Lulwhat. Variety of weapons? Axe and... bare hands. Interesting monsters? Big, not equal to interesting. Story? It's linear. Environment? 3 types of chests in the forest. Graphics? It's nice for AAA title.     Kratos is a train on rails. Max you get a dead end side corridor with yet another same looking chest. Sometimes to move forward you get a "fit a square peg into a square hole" puzzle.
    Then you get to fights. One monster, slash, slash, dodge, for 2 mins. Replaced with two of the same kind that you slash for another 4 mins while your camera spins in circles... Chores. Then you get a big fat monster that you kill via a thousand papercuts in 30 mins.

    There are Witcher, RDR2, Cyberpunk, Death Stranding, etc. all with awesome story and huge open world. There are Left4Dead, Doom and Serious Sam is you want trash with monsters. Cuphead and Super Meat Boy if you like indy platformers. Why GoW?    … Expand

    Ever since its exclusive release in 2018, God of War set a new standard to how single-player focused role-playing games should be. That goes for all categories; Story, gameplay, world design and visual effects. I have played similar triple-A games (rhymes with "A passion's Greed") that fall into the same category, but don't even come close to this. Easy 10/10.

    God of War is more or less a game for everyone who is not afraid of action gameplay and appreciates good narrative and production quality. It's also great to watch, so it can be recommended to extended family members over the series. [Issue#317]

    After more than 55 hours spent playing, I’m still awed by just how great God of War is. This is the result of a clear, determined vision, its separate elements harmonizing almost perfectly to deliver an experience that understands the series’ blood-soaked origins but is also not afraid to push it into a more mature and nuanced direction. Kratos and Atreus’ relationship develops naturally as does their understanding of the foreign land they’re journeying through. The story takes its time, never rushing its satisfying reveals, and making way for a set of surprisingly personal boss fights, while the continuous camera shot used throughout the game is a masterstroke in terms of presentation. All this is built around a snappy and responsive combat system that has more depth than you’re initially led to believe. There are more jaw-dropping surprises I didn’t touch upon simply because it’s best that you experience them for yourself. Looking back, aside from the port’s few performance flaws, my only real complaint has to do with Sony taking this long to bring the game to PC.

    God of War merges all its gameplay elements into one excellent package, dressed in unparalleled direction and amazing storytelling. The scale of the narrative, the divine but always human Kratos, the "boy" who sees everything with childlike enthusiasm, all this offers the player a thrilling story that has at its heart the most human and natural relationship between a parent and his child. Regardless of preference, God of War is a must-see title. Benchmark for each and all its elements and still fresh in 2022.
