Overall, I love all the little nuances of Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed It’s the small details that you notice that draw you into the Ghostbusters universe. Seeing Ray and Winston right at the beginning of the game are big on this and it really ties the new group together with the old group. Seeing Ecto-1 is a real nostalgia hit and it makes you wish you could get behind the wheel.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is the closest we’ve yet come to an authentic Ghostbusters experience. Undoubtedly better with friends, it’s still a genuine thrill to play alone - especially if you’re the ghost.

Both its asymmetrical multiplayer gameplay and story are so enjoyable and well-constructed that big fans of either will find a lot to enjoy in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. It's not perfect, but it is an earnest and successful attempt to bring the spirit of the movie's best qualities into a video game, and it just so happens the game is also strong enough to create some satisfying feedback loops, too.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is a fun experience for friends packed with nostalgia in the form of iconic characters and imagery and its fair share of easter eggs, but there is concern that love for the game could flame out faster than if you crossed the streams. If you are a fan of the franchise, though, it brings just enough joy to make it worth the price tag no matter what.

Ghostbusters has shown itself to be a solid game with asynchronous multiplayer, but it doesn't have enough content to keep players engaged. It's a shame that the creators didn't prepare at least a more extensive and engaging story.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is a simple and straightforward title. If you are looking for an asymmetrical title that will make you smile, this could be for you. On the contrary, however, the experience is really basic, without any particular flicker. The AI is deficient, the situations that follow are often repetitive beyond belief and the lack of depth in the gameplay also turns into listlessness on the part of the player. Perhaps Illfonic's best release so far, albeit with a lot to improve.

The new IllFonic title manages to express the best of itself in short sessions spent in the lightheartedness of a game aware of its limits, capable of challenging fans of the Ghostbusters brand with its continuous quotes but also to intrigue those who are not accustomed to the saga with an immediate and easy to master gameplay.

A lot of fun for Ghostbusters fans and nostalgists, but it runs out of breath in the long run.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed may not be perfect, but as a Ghostbusters fan, I'm really enjoying it. If you're not a fan of the franchise, there are better multiplayer options out there, but for the Ghostbusters faithful, it's a blast.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed has potential, but game balance, a lack of content and some uninspired gameplay makes me want to come back to it after a few updates. Busting ain’t making me so feel good right now.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed succeeds when it suits you up as a Ghostbuster for the first time. You relish the thrill of capturing your first ghost and learning how to hunt them down. Playing as a ghost is equally fun, learning how to haunt and scare everyone out of the building. Unfortunately, playing this game by yourself will quickly become boring, as the single-player experience grows dull quickly. With friends or other players, the true fun of the game comes out. But even that will be short-lived if played too often, as a lack of variety and objectives to achieve will dull the fun.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is an unsatisfying multiplayer experience that lacks the wry character of the movies it's based on.

Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed is the more faithful recreation of what we see in the movies for the multiplayer terrain, but has a notorious lack of content that won't be able to ensure a long life span for it unless Illfonic starts to add maps, ghosts, and perhaps some other options.

Also with each rift that get's closed while you are a ghost you lose about 30% of your frames until you are quite literally stuttering around at the end, horrifically optomized and I'm running a 3060ti with a 5800x and playing on 1080p just to get a smoother experience there is just absolutely no excuse for, uninspired game with very little content that will leave you scratching your head wondering why you spent your own money on it.
