A moody shooter undermined by a lack of polish and purpose.

It all adds up to a game that feels like an excellent first draft. Fans of battle royale games and open-world survival games should feel right at home — that is, until they run up against a mob that’s too big to handle on their own. Groups of players fresh off other cooperative shooters like the Payday series will have the most luck. But for your average consumer, Generation Zero is a tough sell. Without a committed team and good communication, there’s simply no way forward on your own.

Nice graphics, but the gameplay... As if the developers did not test their open world game. Repetitive, broken AI, boring combat against bots,Nice graphics, but the gameplay... As if the developers did not test their open world game. Repetitive, broken AI, boring combat against bots, and most importantly: No rewarding gameplay. You literally get tons of equipment and items very early. Random house, random loot, random quest, random enemy. It is worth $5 perhaps, unfortunately. Full Review »

Great graphics and fun gameplay, solid launch from Avalanche. Love the co-op features as well as solo.
