    There's no possible way to review this game. You must play! This is sandbox, you can do what you want. You must have Source SDK Base. Garry's Mod take maps from other Valve Software games, like Counter-Strike and Half-Life 2.

    This is the type of game that only comes around once in a life time. The game has a massive modding community that is creating thousands of amazing mods to use. The only problem is that the games patches tend to break the game rather than fix it it.

    This is a very good game!!!!! It's open to so many mods created by an amazing community! I've given it a 9 because welded props can glitch very easily when making complicated things and you have to start over.

    I've been playing it for 3 years and it's awesome. Now with the Steam Workshop involved addons which are the heart of the game are easy to use and much less buggy. Developers update and patch regularly.
    It breaks quite often but it's fixed very quickly.
    You can do pretty much everything on Garry's Mod, so, whether you're one of the people who came to blow up stuff with friends or the    I've been playing it for 3 years and it's awesome.     Garry's mod is really a fun game if you're looking to play non-stop content and games with other people then look no further. The game is endless has many prop and fun things to do to or with other people. Please buy this game, it is only 10 USD on Steam. Enjoy.

    What you can do in Half Life 2, you can do in this. In fact, if you own HL2 you can play it in Gmod! From making Dr. Kleiner fly along in a Thruster Powered bathtub off The Statue Of Liberty to making a Bowling Place using Grenades as Bowling balls and Zombies as pins, theres nothing you can do in Half Life 2 that you can't do here. Buy it.

    Es un juego muy complicado para descargar los mods y poder invitar, me parece lamentabe que el juego no traiga todas las texturas de sus escenarios, deberia ser así, por tanto es iincompleto. De todas formas es divertido y entretenido (si juegas con amigos) sobretodo el modo pro hunt, es una panzá de reir!! lo recomiendo.

    While games like Minecraft may give you the tools to build whatever you want, Garry's Mod gives you the tools to create whatever you want. Sledding gamemode? Already there. Way too role-playing gamemodes? There. The ultimate stealth/deception game of all-time (TTT)? Of course, there. Garry's Mod is fantastic, and for its price during Steam Sales, it's definitely worth it.

    In all areas of the game it is wonderful seeing all these awesome game modes you can play but I will say that sometimes you run out of game modes to play and it gets a little boring but I will say whenever you play a server over and over It will become easier to join DuH! So I Think this game is a pretty decent game

    This is honestly one of the most overrated games on Steam. Buy this game if:
    You're prepared to listen and put up with a massive FNAF fanbase screaming about fnaf roleplay
    You're willing to spend 20 minutes loading up a server that you end up getting kicked out of 5 minutes after you join You're ok with the fact that there's only one fun gamemode and the servers are **** You're ok with    This is honestly one of the most overrated games on Steam.     You can basically do whatever you want, whenever you want to do it, and however you want it to be done. It's a ton of fun, especially when played with friends. There are almost endless possibilities for this game! The only downside is that a ton of things have to be downloaded if you want to have the most optimal amount of enjoyment. 8/10

    I hate this game, So much f****** bull**** like technically problems, updates don't work no mod compatibility unless you bought the Steam version but dumb vehicles and lame npc's, Textures will not work and if you try to fix them by installing something it will crash the game seemingly on purpose for you. Horrible boring and limited experience for the base game. Map issues and other reasons makes this "game" not worth the struggle and only an occasional play through if you are bored out of your mind! I have not experienced any unique fun with Gmod and probably never will maybe when it first released it was a fun and polished game but now it's a redundant mess with lots of confusing contraptions and constant repetitiveness.… Expand

    Sandbox with Physics. Endless Content Daily New Stuff. You can Play with Friends or Alone make Crazy Stuff with Ragdolls make you Car Rocket or other Crazy Stuff you can do what you want. Amazing!

    Very very fun sandbox based on the Half Life 2 engine (Source). Now, with mods - you can make movies, funny faces, cool contraptions and so on. Fun! Definitely worth a try for people with imagination or the urge for creativity!

    Seeing what Half Life 2 can do, I came into Garry's Mod with high hopes. I had some ideas to make some cool stuff and believed that now I had the perfect opportunity. Little did I know just the extent of problems that Garry's Mod is plagued with. Most noticeable right off the bat was the clunkiness of the menu and the various actions that can be performed. They are extremely userSeeing what Half Life 2 can do, I came into Garry's Mod with high hopes. I had some ideas to make some cool stuff and believed that now I had the perfect opportunity. Little did I know just the extent of problems that Garry's Mod is plagued with. Most noticeable right off the bat was the clunkiness of the menu and the various actions that can be performed. They are extremely user unfriendly and frustrating as basic actions such as properly placing someone in a chair became a ridiculous comedy of errors.
    And then there's a drastic reduction in the quality of graphics and framerate from the same exact objects/characters/etc of a game that I had on the same exact laptop I was using. Normally, I am very tolerant with graphics. Now I know where the line is drawn, as some words on the walls couldn't even be read. As for the framerate, well, it's hard to actually play a game when it takes about three minutes to take a few steps. It gets this way when you have a group of objects or npcs in the map, making your options more limited.
    Then there's the dreaded purple and black squares on all the textures. If you don't buy the games that many textures, objects, etc require then you basically have these massive eyesores everywhere you look or big ERROR text. Nothing like ending up paying even more money (and a lot at that) just to play the same game, right?
    Now, the obvious question, "Why don't you ask the community?" "Get a better computer!" My computer is fine and I have looked on the boards, I have asked questions and the community was... less than friendly...
    There may be a lot of opportunity in Garry's Mod, but a litany of problems make it a very frustrating and obstructive experience. I was unable to find much that made me want to actually keep playing.    … Expand

    This game is epicly fun! Especially with friends! You can do so much crazy stuffs in it. It'll be even crazier with mods available in the workshop of Steam. There are many many kind of game modes you can play. This game is a must-have!

    This game is coming up on its 10 year anniversary, and I still play it almost daily. I have hundreds of hours logged into this game (it's rather addictive) and I am still not tired of it in the slightest. It is like buying hundreds of totally different games in 1. There is so much to do, any kind of gamer can find solace in this great game. There is building, creativity, FPS elements,This game is coming up on its 10 year anniversary, and I still play it almost daily.     Very fun and addicting game. You probably have seen big Internet superstars that play this game but in different game modes. The popular game modes are called Prop Hunt, Gmod Murder, Trouble in Terrorist Town (TTT), Hide & Seek, and other small little game modes to play with friends. Trust me and every other gamer... this is the game to get. It will also make and break friendships.

    Garry's mod is something special. It allows you to mess with various games made with the source engine. You can also spawn the props from these games.

    while the switch from the 2009 version and the 2013 broke most of the old mods,
    the game in its current edition plays well.
    the switch was needed to integrate the game for steam workshop so that mods could be installed and updated easier.     It is a game that you kind of have to make it fun, its a sandbox game and you basically just do what you want. There is addons so if you ever get bored with the content already in the game you can just download more.

    Garry's Mod is an amazing game, it has so much that you can do, if you want to expand on Garry's Mod, you can just download items and weapons from the workshop. Whenever I feel down I play Garry's Mod and then I feel fine. Buy Garry's Mod for a laugh and if you like Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2 and Counter Strike because Garry's Mod contains things from these games.

    This is the best sandbox game ever look at the evidence, there are new addons ever day, over 50 gamemodes for only 9.99, thought you need a decent computer because of the bugs and glitches but this is the best PC game ever made

    The review i'm going to write for this is going to be extremely simple: it's cheap and filled with ao much content you'll be stuck on it for more than 500 hours easily! With many diverse game types and the ability to build pretty much anything you want, this game has endless replay value and is why 9 years later it is still heavily played.

If you don't have counter-strike: source installed, all you see in most lobby's is a bunch of purple-black-checkered textures, and a **** of error signs, which means that these textures/props are used in counter-strike: source, and you can't see or use them if you don't have this game. Many game modes and maps become unplayable this way.
    Even if you do have CS:S installed, you'll still get sick of the lag and loading times. Often when i try to play with friends, it says ''server is not responding'', without any further explanation, and on some servers the loading time is longer than the time you feel like playing on it.

    Despite these flaws, GMod still is a great, fun game, but it can only be fully enjoyed when having CS:S installed, and with a powerful PC.    … Expand

    If you have a decent amount of friends, are ready to laugh your a$$ off, and having hours of fun, by all means, buy this game. It's cheap, and all the workshop mods make it much more fun. It gives you 3 games worth of content, and much MUCH more is still being made.

    Great game with a wide variety of activities and creativity. Pretty fun experience with endless amounts of mods. But there's a downside to the 'endless amounts of mods'; when joining a server, you're almost always downloading. Downloading, downloading, more downloading. You could be loading a server for 30 **** minutes, or over - it really pisses me off.

    This is a pretty good game. Although I must say, downloading addons can be really annoying at times. The game itself is a great sandbox, being able to manipulate rag dolls and build structures using the Half Life 2 source thx

    This game is totally awesome. The amount of creativity that goes into the game's mods and games themselves is absolutely amazing. It's only a few dollars on Steam, but it is well worth it.

    The fact that there are absolutely NO limits as to what you can do intrigued me right from the start. I spent 800 hours on this game and I never even had it for one year yet. My friends and I agree that this game is fun, random and definitely one of the best (if not THE best) games I've played.

    One of the GREATEST or perhaps the greatest game ever. Anything is possible in this game. You could play Half-life 2, Minecraft, Five Nights at Freddy's all combined in one game.

    There isn't a thing you can't do in Garry's Mod. There is something for everyone. From fighting to building, GMod will be very enjoyable. The modding is the main reason why you should get it.

    First of all why the hell haven't you purchased this game it costs $10 (USD) and you can basically do anything (even nothing) with unlimited items, game modes and maps based on the goons of the steam workshop. even without mods this game is a ton of fun and even more fun with friends.     You can play this game for all of your life, i cannot be boring because there are a lot of mods ready to be downloaded for free, but if you download a lot of mods your game will be slow (Only at the start)

    As of now, the game is fun and packed with people, and it is very social. You should have a mic to enjoy this game most.

    However, server quality is not quite what it use to be. Most types are now variations on RP, and many are very boring grinds. Gmod racer, Minecraftwars and such are gone, which were some of my favourites, and fun game types like football showdown seem to be lowly populated, which I don't get.

    The game is always improving to play locally with friends however, as the amount of mods increases, You can't beat playing this with friends.

    The game has also spawned countless hilarious machinimas and sketches on YouTube- I recommend EthioMods videos. It's an experience, not just a game, and I highly recommend checking lets plays out on YouTube to see if you'd like it. If you like messing about, building or just plain trolling, you'll love this game.

    Final score: 8/10 - Fun but public servers do change in quality, currently pretty good, with things seemingly improving- although it was better in the past.    … Expand

    enormous fun in certain game modes made by people of the community which is fantastic and the sandbox mode is fantastic but the game completely relies on its community and if they were to not like the game it would be dead pretty much instantly as they original game has nothing at all it relies souly on mods.

    This is a really good game, but it requires mods to have anything more than 20 minutes of enjoyment. Mods take a long time to download and without knowing about this makes Garry's Mod a very boring game. Still, the fact this game surrendered to the Steam Workshop and benefited majorly is something to admire. 8/10.

    It has lots of stuff to do mainly because of the community maps and mods, along with the servers. The fact that you can play with your friends makes it 10 times better and even more fun than it already is.

    You are paying for only one game. But you are getting infinite games. Dark RP, Prison RP, Star Wars RP, TTT, Murderer... There is to much game mods for this game. You just need CS:S for every single content. You can play horror maps with your friends, or even you can just open flat map, and do some things with your friends. There is no limit.

    It is true that you can have a lot of fun, especially with friends. But if you don't want to play RP, there isn't really that many people playing on the other servers. It is a good game but right now most of its playerbase is on RP servers.

    Do you like sandbox? Then this is certainly the best of this decade. In this game you can have fun with your friends or alone, but everything is cool with mods and the variety of them in this game is incredible I recommend.

So this isn't as big of an issue as it sounds. In addition, the game's art may not look charming, but it's style that the game is will grow on you as it has for so many!). That being said, It's a good idea I should perhaps discuss these endless options of fun I spoke of

    Garry's Mod has a nearly limitless amount of mods to play through. A few that come to my nostalgic mind as I write this. Trouble In Terrorist Town (AKA TTT), Prop Hunt, DarkRP, Zombie Survival (A personal favorite of mine), Murder, horror maps, the list keeps growing as you play, but if these more intense and more action packed PVP modes are a bit too much for you. There are still plenty of less intense and rules focused game modes. Such as Prison Break, Deathrun, Sledbuild (Yes, it's exactly as it sounds), and basic parkour to do as well. Perhaps wanna sit down in a Cinema in Garry's Mod to watch a movie with your friends. We got that as well (Although personally I'd suggest doing this one in VRChat, a little more interactive for those with VR AND is free!)

    The only issue with the game and this, and why my review isn't a 10/10 masterpiece. Is the lack of a player base for most of these game modes or those outside of this. Without a good group of friends you may very well be stuck playing a mode you don't want to simply because it actually has people in it.

    But if we can look past a small issue that I (and others I am sure) can say is less of a game problem and more of a community problem. The game is a perfect masterpiece in my eyes.    … Expand
