    While games like Minecraft may give you the tools to build whatever you want, Garry's Mod gives you the tools to create whatever you want. Sledding gamemode? Already there. Way too role-playing gamemodes? There. The ultimate stealth/deception game of all-time (TTT)? Of course, there. Garry's Mod is fantastic, and for its price during Steam Sales, it's definitely worth it.

    Great sandbox game, never got old. Have tons of hours on this game and each time I load it up, I can do something completely different than last time. One of the best sandbox games I've ever played and I will continue playing it for a long time.

    Garry's Mod is the sandbox version of Half Life 2. It's insane. Everything from Half Life 2 is in this, and you can do whatever you want. What adds to this amazing game is the Steam Workshop. People are creating things everyday. It's as simple as looking for what you want, and adding to the game. You don't even need the mods if you don't want them!     Yes garrys mod is a game. But it is so much more than that. It allows you to create pretty much anything you want and play anything you want. It allows you to be creative and really have the freedom you want in a sandbox.

    I LOVE Garry's mod I have played over 350hours of it. The reason I gave it a 9 is becuase it's not perfect. The reason it's so so hard to make servers. It's like Minecraft they have insanely hard server set ups. But apart from that I really would not change the gameplay.

    I recommend this game! BUY IT NOW!

    Definitely one of the best PC titles EVER released. This game truly is amazing. It's almost 1,000,000 games in 1! For only 9.99! Has the funnest community i've ever played on. Has the BEST mod support i've ever seen and is all around an amazing milestone!

    Honestly one of the best games I've played. So much stuff to do, build robots, make crazy awesome contraptions, and then, you can share them with the world! I can't name any other sandbox games like this. They also have awesome gamemodes too! Like trouble in terrorist town, prop hunt, deathmatch, hunger games, and SO much more! I wonder what this game will become in the future, so muchHonestly one of the best games I've played.     THE BEST PC GAME EVER!!!! You can do literally ANYTHING in this game! There's no objective so you can derp around and do bugger all. There's weapons, playermodels (things that allow you to change your appearence), vehicles, and more! There's maps you can download, gamemodes like hide and seek, tag, roleplay, etc. So many things to do! How much is this game I hear you ask? $9.99!!!! GET IT NOW!!!!!

    Greatest pc game/mod hands down. I have pulled over 700 hours of it since Christmas last year and am still playing! Sadly the relatively new "Garry's Mod 13" update was released last year, it up the hit boxes completely. But besides that, you are absolutely insane if you have not purchased this game yet.

    Great game that allows users to do practically anything they would like. The only downside is you have too have some old source games but yet those games are fun in themselves.

    Steep learning curve but ohh so much fun what game are supposed to be fun so it gets a 10 because i can do what ever i please i an stream videos in game i can build weapons an cars an levels spawn monsters pvp possibilities are limitless have fun!!

    This game is incredibly fun. There are so many different gamemodes and so much stuff that you can build that you will probably never get bored. Combine what I just said with the fact that this game is workshop compatible and you have a game which has so many addons that you will never not be able to find something you like. This game is amazing and you will never get bored.

    This game is great! You can do so much stuff, with just some source games! Multiplayer is fun, and with all these game modes, it's fantastic! This game is truly unique.

    just as book master this game is absolutely amazing i never get board and i can play it all day! granted there is some issues if you aren't good with computers BUT if you are good with them this game will (intrinsically) pay for it self!

    I bought this game after following lost in places antics. Hilariously fun, great to mess with people who are playing the game seriously. Im playing on a mac and it works perfectly. Must hsve.

    Garry's Mod is a game like no other. Install, Play, and build huge prop castles or amazing machines. The game has a main menu where you can spawn hundreds of props in which you can weld, freeze, morph, transform, or use to build a marvelous fortress. Multiplayer is just as fun as coders create different gamemodes with different goals. What are you doing? Buy it Now!

    I love this you can make your own machinima and mods and its cheap and easy to use some of the stuff made using it is just so funny One of the best games on Steam and only on PC

    This is definitely a one-of-a-kind game genre, that has entertained us since '06. It has a variety of gamemodes, of the wich you can never grow bored; endless spawnlists; the addon feature, that has really improved gameplay; and the inumerous ideas you can put to practice, with the feedback of other players.

    This must be the only game developer's kit you are expected to pay for. This is not a 'game'. It is a content development tool. Though it is easier to use than a pro tool, and there is certainly a degree of fun to be had, the tool kit comes without a good tutorial of "getting started" template, and leaves you in limbo, reading "how to be cool with Garry's Mod" in external sources.     A game that had me hooked for hours. This game mixes in sandbox, and hundreds of other game modes. This is my most played game on PC. I also had to convince my brothers and friends to get it. I just wish Valve would reboot this game and add more items and better graphics.

    It's near impossible to hate this game, as it can be any game you want it to be, and a whole lot of games you hadn't even thought of yet. A perfect ten can't be denied to this game. In addition to that, it's only ten dollars on Steam.

    Played this game a lot... Five years later I'm studying software engineering at university. Coincidence? No. If you have any interest in programming buy this game and start playing with the expression scripting language, you can do so many cool things.

    PS: Find a server with interesting people and interesting mods, a good community can keep you coming back for years.

    From another user's review "The game is absolutely hilarious, if you know how to use it". Yes, that's the point. How do you use it? The game's instructions are non-existant and you have to do deep researches on the internet every time you want to do something different than spawn some NPCs.
    Garry's Mod is the perfect Sandbox game. If you're not into them, you won't be into it.

    I don't like this game, it seems unfinished and should still be in BETA. i paid for it on a sale date so I got it cheaper, glad about that, not worth full price, avoid.

    What you can do in Half Life 2, you can do in this. In fact, if you own HL2 you can play it in Gmod! From making Dr. Kleiner fly along in a Thruster Powered bathtub off The Statue Of Liberty to making a Bowling Place using Grenades as Bowling balls and Zombies as pins, theres nothing you can do in Half Life 2 that you can't do here. Buy it.

    A good game, it shines in it's community and the people who play it. You can mod the crap out of this game that's for sure. There are a lot of game modes too. If your skilled enough you may make one too. But above that, the game mode that in my opinion that stands out the most is Trouble in Terrorist Town.     I want to keep this short; what can I say? Just... don't even bother reading this. Get the game, you will love it. There's too much quality content to explain. For 5 pounds, this game has kept me entertained for over 500 hours.

    This is the only game I know of where you can fend your Combine officer from antlion guards and trigger_hurts while riding a Heavy Weapons Guy into a wall of Marios. 10/10 10/10s.

Various game modes, memes, and other things have come from Garry's Mod. It's fun to play with in sandbox, TTT, or really anything that you can put your mind to. The game is also a true sandbox, you can do anything you want, like recreating a scene from a movie or game. The graphics are mostly HL2 level, so they are quite dated but look decent.     If you like gaming, get this game. You can literally do whatever you want. Shooter? Builder? Simulator? Racer? Yes, it will take time to get used to the controls. Yes, trouble in terrorist town is absolutely amazing. And yes, Garry's Mod has a place in my heart.

Mods are very easy to find, and even easier now with the newly implemented Garry's Mod Workshop on Steam, which is the only place you can get the game. You don't even need to own Half-Life 2 to play it. It's built in. So it's basically an entirely different game all on it's own. The is singleplayer for when you don't want to run the risk of idiots coming on your server and screwing everything up, and there's also multiplayer for when you want to show off your work or play with friends. This game is worth much more than it costs. Get it. You will not regret it. Even if you are into COD. Plus, it doesn't require a very powerful machine to run.     This is the type of game that only comes around once in a life time. The game has a massive modding community that is creating thousands of amazing mods to use. The only problem is that the games patches tend to break the game rather than fix it it.

    I have never been a fan of sandbox games, but my god this is fantastic. There is so much to do in this game, including one hell of a multiplayer, that just make this game so good. Valve never fail to disappoint, and Garry's Mod shows just how good Valve is. May not be up there with Half-Life and the like, but still an easy 10.

    This is a very good game!!!!! It's open to so many mods created by an amazing community! I've given it a 9 because welded props can glitch very easily when making complicated things and you have to start over.

    so its a sandbox with many different game modes like Rp, Construct, sled gang wars etc, in my opinion you should try RP because its like a simulator of the real life.

    Well, I've reached Garry's Mod. There is not much I can say but -- wow. The fun in this game is crazy, this game makes any other sandbox game look awful. Garry's Mod is really fun if you get used to posing characters, throwing ragdolls at walls, hanging a TF2 character, chucking computer monitors at cars, and shooting creepy-looking squid things with a plasma gun. For me, the real "downer"Well, I've reached Garry's Mod. There is not much I can say but -- wow. The fun in this game is crazy, this game makes any other sandbox game look awful. Garry's Mod is really fun if you get used to posing characters, throwing ragdolls at walls, hanging a TF2 character, chucking computer monitors at cars, and shooting creepy-looking squid things with a plasma gun. For me, the real "downer" of this game is, the servers. "Hamachi" is often used to create servers on Garry's Mod to access a private match with friends, but I would rather not go through that mess. I play "Trouble In Terrorist Town", or "TTT". If you get Garry's Mod, buy Counter Strike: Source as well, you must have it to see weapons used in TTT. Highly recommended.… Expand

    There's no possible way to review this game. You must play! This is sandbox, you can do what you want. You must have Source SDK Base. Garry's Mod take maps from other Valve Software games, like Counter-Strike and Half-Life 2.

    A couple of glitches here and there, but nothing noticeable. The freedom of this game is more than Minecraft as there's always something new. You can run around killing hoards of headcrabs if you want to, or you can build a foldable base. 10/10. Tis amazing, and I hate giving tens, but it deserves it.

    I love this game! Want to kill some zombies? Throw a train at them! Want to create a car? Put some wheels on a fridge! Want to go on a killing spree? Spawn some NPCs and gun them down! Amazing for $10

    Fun for creating wars, or using rag dolls for make tf2 videos. Although, spawning too many npcs or objects causes lag. I have had a few source engine bugs and crashes, but that is its only downside.

    This is overall one of the best video games that I have ever played! You can literally do anything you want, and there is no story. You can put in any props, ragdolls, and npcs. You can create your own levels, funny animations, mess around, make race tracks, among thousands of other options.     This is an extremely fun sandbox with no limits as to what you can do with it. It's various mods go anywhere from giant theatre for sharing your favorite YouTube videos, Competitions for building the best boat, Fortwars, Space environment building and roleplaying, And many more awesome mods.

    This game is unbelieveable, you can make anything! I paid $2.50 AUD for this game in a Steam sale, and I have to say I would have happily payed 20. The game is fun, and after 100 hours it hasn't even begun to be slightly boring. I highly recommend this to. . . . well, anyone!

    One of the first true sandbox games ever. Great mods available on multiplayer, and the singleplayer is unrivalled in the amount of customization you have at your fingertips. Modes like trouble in terrorist town are good fun.

This is entirely better than Minecraft, which is an okay game and is highly overpriced. With so many deals on steam, Garry's mod can be found at low prices like $2, which is very low compared to how awesome of a game it is. The only thing bad about it is that when a Valve game is updated, it usually busts up the game so you have to wait for a patch. Though Garry is pretty awesome about this and usually updates it within a day or so. Overall, great game for people who love to build, mod, or just play a game with dozens of gamemodes.… Expand

The game allows heavy scripting making a lot of fun custom game modes possible but is mainly a sandbox game. Overall Garry's Mod is a game where you can be creative and have fun but not a game for serious gaming.

    Garry's mod is a very unique game because it has no proper story line or any meaning to it. its just for having fun with random props from most of the source engine games and killing the NPC characters from the beloved half life series. for only 10 dollars, it really is a game totally worth it.

    Insanely good game, you can play hundreds of different game-modes if you don't like just building and with the vast amount of community created content, you'll never be bored. I get a couple of new players on my server a day and everyone of them seems to be happy with their purchase, I mean it's £5/$10 how can you go wrong?

    this was a fun game i enjoyed the many hours i put into it. its creative fun and a great way to explore you creative ideas. the ncps are fun to use. the wide arrangement of tools and props just adds the many things you can do overall this is a great game i fully recomend this

    If "sandbox" games are your type of thing, then this game is for you, there are loads of different things to do within this game that listing them would be pointless, the single player is fun for a while as you have your "toy-box" tab which has hundreds of items to shoot, throw or kill stuff with.     There is so much about this game that is awesome. You can create stuff, like houses bases, vehicles, turrets and things that don't exist yet. There is multiplayer in the game so you can create with your friends or strangers. If you are not good at building things, you can animate ragdolls and make movies.
    Such a good game for only 10$

I think that the developers could have done better on this, and while I don't blame them for this, I think that they could have patched it. This game is a very good deal, considering if you own a game that uses the source engine the game is $10 on steam. I would/do recommend it to most of my friends, and I think that the creators did a great job making a fun, creative game.… Expand

Or just be a citizen and build. The game is fantastic, with the only flaws being the aged (but highly forgiveable) graphics and the occasional glitches and LUA cache errors.
