    A solid TBS game which is a mix of Massive Assault (or Advanced Wars) and Panzer General. Too bad the devs took as setting some soviet sci-book which no one knows. I'm a russian myself and haven't ever heard of this novel. Missions are too linear and graphics pretty outdated. Strangely enough, with all the complicated set of rules in this game it doesn't make a better game than MassiveA solid TBS game which is a mix of Massive Assault (or Advanced Wars) and Panzer General.     A little more imagination and Galactic Assault could have been a far more valuable addition to the overfull alien battle strategy genre.

    As for the TBS hardcore, they’ll probably indignantly object to the dumbed-down gameplay mechanics. Galactic Assault isn’t a bad game – we just don’t really know who it’s for.

    Much like those random late night films you know nothing about before you watch them and end up enjoying, Galactic Assault is more fun that you'd expect although it never really ever comes close to being great.
