    Great modern-looking TBS, and the best on based on Strugatsky brothers novel!

    This game is a real gem for those who prefer TBS games. It's based on rather unique concept. 9 is great for this title.

    A solid TBS game which is a mix of Massive Assault (or Advanced Wars) and Panzer General. Too bad the devs took as setting some soviet sci-book which no one knows. I'm a russian myself and haven't ever heard of this novel. Missions are too linear and graphics pretty outdated. Strangely enough, with all the complicated set of rules in this game it doesn't make a better game than MassiveA solid TBS game which is a mix of Massive Assault (or Advanced Wars) and Panzer General.     C’est une sorte de Command & Conquer au tour par tour, ce qui n’est pas pour déplaire a priori mais hélas, la mise en oeuvre et l’exécution ainsi que la présentation générale rangent ces bonnes intentions dans le rayon des navets pas très frais… pour ne pas dire pourravenazes.     Tout le reste est à l’avenant et développé un peu comme-ci-comme-ça à l’arrache, à croire que tout ça a été boulotté par des dilettantes ou des stagiaires en fin de stage. Ou au début de leur « formation »‘ qui sait… Pourtant graphiquement, ce n’est pas si mal… encore qu’un peu juste quant même alors que ça reste un poil exigeant par rapport à ce qui est proposé.

    Alors qu’on se débat plus ou moins avec l’interface étonnamment minimaliste, l’ennui et les limitations du titre deviennent encore plus évidentes : c’est décidément raté d’un peu partout, tout le temps et trop amateuriste pour qu’on y trouve un quelconque intérêt stratégique, finalement !    … Expand

    As for the TBS hardcore, they’ll probably indignantly object to the dumbed-down gameplay mechanics. Galactic Assault isn’t a bad game – we just don’t really know who it’s for.

    Much like those random late night films you know nothing about before you watch them and end up enjoying, Galactic Assault is more fun that you'd expect although it never really ever comes close to being great.
