Not a great adventure game and a weak action title. Foreclosed’s only aspect that deserves praise are its comic book-style visuals. [11/2021, p.58]

Foreclosed is short, yet it still manages to outstay its welcome long before you run into one of the two abrupt endings and leave the game without an ounce of satisfaction.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say that Foreclosed is a complete waste of effort to play. It’s clear the developers were trying to make something cool here, but whether you’re looking for a third person shooter, a cyberpunk game, or a story-heavy game, your time would almost assuredly be better spent elsewhere. Every system presented to the player works on a functional level, but their implementation simply isn’t up to par with what’s required to make an engaging video game—even one that’s only about four hours long—and this culminates in an experience that ends up being more half-baked than hard-boiled.

Foreclosed looks nice and somewhere deep inside there are even a few interesting ideas, but that is, unfortunately, that. The gameplay itself is horrendous, as is the story accompanying it.

  1. I should add that Foreclosed, from a performance perspective, is technically flawless. No stutters or hiccups. This is clearly a team that knows how to put a game together, even if the one they have didn’t hook me on any level. Then it ended after around five hours, just as it was threatening to get interesting. For those after a more engaging cyber-shooty game, I recommend reading Ed’s review of The Ascent. For cyber-story-puzzly fans, meanwhile, I recommend Mind Scanners. Foreclosed, for all its graphic novel aspirations, is paper-thin.

Too sad. I like the genre of Cyber punk SF, but this one not satisfied me. Story is not so much attractive because the world and characterToo sad. I like the genre of Cyber punk SF, but this one not satisfied me. Story is not so much attractive because the world and character were not well explained. Almost all combat scenes are similar and boring. Only 3 kinds of enemies are exist in this game except gun turrets and drones. There's not so much fun fighting against same enemies even if using ESP power. Also, some hucking action scenes are irritating. I played in ps4 and the playing was very smooth. Visual, bgm, design are good. Full Review »
