    One of the things that surprised me not to be the center of the reviews with FC5 (which was the reason I refunded after an hour of play) was the braindead AI, having finished FC3 to have a reference before playing ND, the enemies are 10IQ smarter than in 5, although the friendly AI is laughable, what is this? Colonial Marines?    Ubisoft mocks it's decreasing player base once more,

    slapping RPGish elements into an abused franchise, I don't know why nobody says it but the god damned crosshair is misplaced, the enemies are now bullet sponges that show points a la Destiny, it is a total grind, frequently reminding you to drop your cash for some currency and whatnot, graphics are "nice", I think, from an artistic view... however, I think 2019 standard is to use the most ridicule color pallete available, this is supposedly a post-apocalyptic game, but to me it looks like U-be-soft's take on Super Weenie Hut Jr's before RAGE 2, they gotta milk that cows, ynowhamsayin?, it's a shame, refunded.    … Expand

    One of the worst Far Cry games I've played, The Enemy levels system is a poor addition and something I hated in the last 2 AC games, also the game is quite short and would have been better as a dlc

    This is really a disaster although FC5 was so-so this is even worse. WTF, post-apocalyptic areas are in LSD with pink colors ? This is some strange gay sense of humor from Ubisoft? And graphic is oversimplified it looks cartoony. Weapons are uninteresting, enemies are still stupid and the story is short and boring. Hardly even 5/10.....My recommendation: don't waste your time on this crap,This is really a disaster although FC5 was so-so this is even worse.     This title is totally trash, this is even worst than AC Syndicate in my opinion. All ubisoft games look and works the same: go to the point A, go to the point B, attack enemy base, free hostages etc etc it is so boring and repeatable ... Hope they start listen players ... someday and not making mistake like FC New Dawn again.

    Great Far cry romp that is in my opinion better than Far cry 5.
    Graphic are brilliant, game play is brilliant, story is a little meh, but who plays it for the story.
    Great fun and worth the money.
    Most that vote it down is because it's colourful or don't own the game and just wan to hate. The colours in the game really work to add atmosphere.

Боевая система полнейшее говно, сделали уровневую систему словно в рпг играешь, а не шутер... всадить, блядь, целый магазин из калаша, КАЛАША СУКА, 7.62 КАЛИБР, что бы только шлем у рейдера из говна и палок сломать это что то... но... фигня, поФемпродукт даёт о себе знать, компанию имеют по полной. Тупые диалоги персонажей, тупой сюжет, да и не игра это вовсе, а длс для 5-ой части.     Far Cry: New Dawn is just a reskin of Far Cry 5 with smaller map, shorter story and less customization. Its a quick cash grab.

    worst shooter I have ever played! Needs 100 bullets out of a MG to kill some idiots in motor cycle suits. What a crap. And for the guys with the crown, you will even need more. You will also need about 500 bullets to kill a buffalo. This was the last Far Cry I have bought for sure! Graphics are fine. That's the only positive about this game.

    Downgrade from FC5. RPG mechanics and levels for weapons are a joke when you put 60 bullets into someones faces and see that a 9mm tier 3 weapon does more damage then a 556 AR from level 1. customizing for weapons is gone, what a shame. the game is far shorter in terms of story and has less content for completionists. it really feels like a rushed out spinoff. this could have been a hybridDowngrade from FC5. RPG mechanics and levels for weapons are a joke when you put 60 bullets into someones faces and see that a 9mm tier 3 weapon does more damage then a 556 AR from level 1. customizing for weapons is gone, what a shame. the game is far shorter in terms of story and has less content for completionists. it really feels like a rushed out spinoff. this could have been a hybrid between fallout and farcry but it isnt. the story leaves all fc5 endings on the dust a sticks with the gods warth ending that never gets put into a rational explenation or tries to put doubt which side is right into the mix. i played every farcry game so far, 3 was the best, then 5. this is just better then fc2. if someone told me, that ubisoft internaly said: We need 3 years to make the next good Farcry and we need something in between but are willing to spend double the amount of what we gave for blood dragon, and instead of 3 months, you have almost a year, and fcnd was the result, id believe it… Expand

    Far Cry 5 is one of the best FPS has ever been made. This version lacking more than 70% of the story and the game mechanics of the FC5. You going to be highly disappointed. It is somehow similar to Primal, which was also very terrible. But this is even worse (because it is EMPTY).

    If you like the series, give it a try, because the FPS mechanics is quiet unique as in every FC games, and    Far Cry 5 is one of the best FPS has ever been made.     If you are a fan of the franchise and really liked the 5th entry then I think you should play this entry. It provides a good epilogue for some characters from the 5th game and the gameplay has some light rpg elements that can turn some people off but honestly I think they're done well.

    What all this wanted to show Ubisoft that no matter what **** she released, no matter how bad or good they say about her while their **** projects bring money to ordinary people who want decent games, they do not care deeply.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have played every Far cry title since day one but the 5th was the only one i actually completed.
    it was also the only one that thoroughly enjoyed and will gladly play it again.

    so, to hear and read all the info about New Dawn i was absolutely over the moon.
    a follow on to the best Far Cry title to date? get the Flip in!!!!

    I even pre ordered it and booked a day off work to have a long weekend on it.

    the first 10mins were breath taking, lots of similarities and plenty of new stuff.
    making it seem like a great purchase.

    my first gripe was the bouncing damage numbers making it feel like some arcade shoot em up. as well as the huge HP bars above the characters.
    thankfully it is possible to turn these off making it a bit more realistic.

    but with these turned off you cannot tell the rank of the NPC.
    meaning you could come across a legendary lv3 mouse and unload 3 full M60 belts into it and it kills you several times.
    so energy bars had to be turned back on.

    after realising its all about the Tier level of your weapons that hindered game progression i set to grinding the items needed to unlock them.

    this took all of a few hours to have the best guns in the game,

    the story line was awful.. i felt lost most the time and it only felt like i interacted with the twins a couple of times in the entire game. there was no flow or smooth progression at any point with any of the story line. then the twins were dead and i am now supposed to kill some mega demon to do with the story line from 5 ..... WTF.

    when running through the bushes with my new side kick they would make the same sound no matter what they walked on or through.
    it might of been some grass, a bush or a giant tree. no matter which one it was the sound made was similar to the sound barbed wire makes in Rainbow six siege.

    although they have used the old map it feels smaller and easier to navigate once you have unlocked fast travel. you never need a car or the need to walk any where again.
    there is hardly any actual content... there are 8 outposts that have a handful of NPC that need killing.
    once killed you can reset the outpost making it a little bit harder to clear the next time.
    then there are the expeditions which seem great the first time you do them, but soon get boring the 3rd time with slightly harder NPCs to fight.
    or if you really want some fun you can spend several hours gathering Tape, cogs and crafting items from the woods while been attacked by woodland creatures that are harder to kill than superman in a hummer.

    there are no more clutch nixon style events to try and beat others at....
    the parachuting, skydiving and wingsuit mechanics are abysmal.
    when i wasnt been killed over and over by legendary wombats and otters, i was been killed by my next most popular way to die.. jumping off a cliff to parachute or wingsuit only to have neither work and splat on a rock.

    its basically a total waste of money.
    it should of been sold as an expansion for 5 at about £20 on release dropping to about £10 after.

    if you like your sequels to be an awful copy and paste with the Hues and Vibrancy of colours increased .With 2 terribly written plots and absolutely zero replay value i can recommend New Dawn.    … Expand

Gameplay is identical as any other entry in the series except they keep beefing up the RPG elements which feel clunky like a horse riding a zebra on a unicycle. Level requirements, bullet-sponge enemies, "Legendary" weaponry that should have been an upgrade to an preexisting crafting element in FC but instead feel like you've upgraded type of diabetes.

    Honestly, the world feels and looks more vivid and bright than FC5, and I would have loved the colorful aesthetic were it not a blatant rip-off and a slap in the face to some other games I won't mention here. AI is a dread to even think of, dull, disoriented and plain dumb. What fascinates me are the critic reviews, oh I mean paid-off reviews that praise this hot mess and bloat "positive" reviews.

    I remember back when I played Far Cry 5 last year that I kinda hated it, I thought it was a huge step down from its predecessors in terms of game mechanics. The mute protagonist was also a huge downgrade for me because it instantly eliminates any sort of depth your main character has, turning the game into a mindless repetitive grind (unless you REALLY enjoy the gameplay loop the game hasI remember back when I played Far Cry 5 last year that I kinda hated it, I thought it was a huge step down from its predecessors in terms of game mechanics. The mute protagonist was also a huge downgrade for me because it instantly eliminates any sort of depth your main character has, turning the game into a mindless repetitive grind (unless you REALLY enjoy the gameplay loop the game has to offer). Far Cry New Dawn while still having the same issues mentioned earlier it tries to fill up the mechanical gap between the entries with 'light RPG elements'. This honestly ruined the game for me, there is no reason to have 4 types of enemies and weapons in the game. Because of this, it makes scavenging outposts a living hell if you're under equipped since there's just no way to kill the enemies that are higher level than you, let alone take the outpost undetected. Another ridiculous design decision that i could not understand is stripping away core features like the wing suit, self heal, grappling hook, fast travel etc and making them unavailable until you grind enough perks to unlock them, it makes playing the game feel like such a chore and it's obviously a decision made to increase the longevity of the game and as an incentive to purchase Perks/XP Boosters from the UbiStore, which is really low. I'm usually a fan of the franchise but I can't stand watching it being bastardized. The setting is aesthetically pleasing so that's something to look forward to if you're into stuff like this I guess, but it's definitely not what I had in mind when I was told the game has a post-apocalyptic setting. In conclusion, I suggest you skip this cash grab and wait for Far Cry 6 instead.… Expand

    2) the "new" stuff, a.k.a. the RPG elements, are just making bad what was perfectly fine: in order to do some mission is not about the relevance of the mission itself or you ability. It's just a matter of levels.
    Do you want to try a level 3 mission and you have first-level weapons and other stuff? Simple: you die! Have you level 3 weapon and going to discover a new outpost (which is always at level 1 at the beginning)...ok, you are a sort of unbeatable god. It does not make sense. It is simply so much worse than before. I give you just an example: I have a full level-2 equipment. I was struggling to run away from a level-3 bear. Finally I killed it: something like 3 C4 and 10 saw were needed. Speechless.
    3) random and boring grinding (or microtransaction...tah-dah!) to unlock powerful weapon and vehicles that were used to be unlocked just playing and discovering new stuff in the map. Since is REALLY annoying to grind so much, probably you will play most of the game with the same 3/4/5 weapons that you are to find/unlock.
    4) even in this annoying "kind-RPG" setup, it is still far cry. The shooting isn't bad, and so on. But there are really a few vehicles and weapons. And there are just the same for each level. You are just getting the same weapons, but more powerful. That's it.

    I'm still playing it in co-op with a friend and I'm having fun but is really annoying that the game would have been so much better without useless new "please buy with micro-transaction" stuff.
    Please don't try to kill FarCry 6 with this crap, otherwise I'm not playing it.    … Expand

You shoot an enemy who is wearing a bicycle helmet in the head and absolutely no damage taken. There is half as much stuff to do as there was in far cry 5, There is no weapon modifications, The weapons are pretty bad, the vehicles are even worse andthe game is nonsense. the gameplay is alright but very grindy, you grind to get a tier 3 weapon (Best sniper rifle in the game) for example. You shoot an enemy who is wearing a bicycle helmet in the head and absolutely no damage taken.     What is wrong about the game.
    Almost everything. The fact that now Far cry is a stat shooter ( yes, a headshot with a gun does not kill most ennemies anymore) kils the gameplay and the fun. It means that there are ennemies you virtually cannot kill at the beginning of the game.
    The story is just not there. There is nothing exciting, no twist, no charismatic antagonist (yes joseph is here but for like 5 minute tops) and its horribly short. The replayability is bad. You will finished the game on difficult at 100% in around 11-12 hours. By then you'll have maxed out weapon, perks, and vehicule that will take all the challenge away.

    The politicaly correct. You feel it through the whole game. Those two twins are empty. They are here because Ubisoft wanted to fullfil a checklissst in their political agenda. They are here because they are black and female, and because the devs wanted you to understand that "ThOsE ArE StRoNg AnTaGoNiSt"

    It is not a good game. It is a politicaly correct skin of Far Cry 5, with a fration of the fun, a fration of the immersion and people are right to hate it.    … Expand

    I am one of the few people that actually enjoyed last years far cry 5. I thought the gameplay was fun and loved the companions in that game like the bear.
    This years far cry is just pure trash, probably one of the worst I have ever played. The story is beyond boring, the villains in this game are a joke and not even slightly scary and had me rolling my eyes through many cutscenes.    I am one of the few people that actually enjoyed last years far cry 5. I thought the gameplay was fun and loved the companions in that game like the bear.
    This years far cry is just pure trash, probably one of the worst I have ever played. The story is beyond boring, the villains in this game are a joke and not even slightly scary and had me rolling my eyes through many cutscenes. Actually eventually I couldn't take the cutscenes anymore because my eyes would literally fall asleep so I decided to do chores during the breaks. I never do chores but this game was just terrible.
    Everything is rehashed from last year and painted over with hot pink color which didn't bug me as much but the story and gameplay is extremely boring.
    They also ruined the companions (roster) as it seems everyone is nerfed including hurk who I had a blast with last year.    … Expand

    I really think 2 is enough for this game why?
    They reused most of the assets in game: UI, same, sound same, and what happened to animations? No skinning animation no interacting animation. But story looks OK and graphics are good.

    Many will probably say "A zero, really?!?". I don't normally rate a game 0 but in this case its needed. While I REALLY enjoyed New Dawn, it has many glitches. Including a well documented one that Ubisoft doesn't seem to care about. I won't post spoilers but after many missions into the game a "puzzle" type of mission happens and there's a glitch where half the time one of the pieces neededMany will probably say "A zero, really?!?". I don't normally rate a game 0 but in this case its needed. While I REALLY enjoyed New Dawn, it has many glitches. Including a well documented one that Ubisoft doesn't seem to care about. I won't post spoilers but after many missions into the game a "puzzle" type of mission happens and there's a glitch where half the time one of the pieces needed doesn't spawn above ground.

    Which causes you to be endlessly stuck in the mission forever. This may not seem like a big deal but since its a story mission, you can't move on and finish the game without this mission beat. The worst part is the only way to currently fix it is to restart the game ALL OVER from the start. Meaning your hard word is all gone. For me that was 30+ hours. And guess what? When I got to that mission my second time it glitched again!

    I searched the net for hours and tried every idea but nothing fixed it. So I uninstalled the game and gave up. It's a shame because I really was enjoying this game. Ubisoft replied to me and essentially said they don't know about the glitch despite it being everywhere you look. Best to save your money for now until you see a patch past 1.02 that fixes said glitch.    … Expand

    Open world in New Dawn exists for one single purpose: to let player engage next group of enemies on his own terms. Hopefully, in next game Ubisoft will finally get rid of RPG elements (mainly, bizarre multi-tiered guns) and go back to the formula of first Far Cry. [Issue#236, p.54]

    Only full-time members of Joseph Seed's cult hooked on bliss will enjoy playing Far Cry: New Dawn from start to finish. The others will eventually get tired of psychedelic palette and recycled content.

    Far Cry New Dawn is a ridiculously well-polished and fun to play action game (AI issues aside), with an enjoyable if largely mundane story and villains. It's so hard to negatively criticise too much. It would be unfair to judge this individual game against the wider approach of Ubisoft that some could argue needs to evolve more going into the future. The freedom that this sandbox gives to just shoot things and have fun is clear to see, and on PC the world looks incredible, filled with vivid colours, rich explosions, lush grassland and shimmering blue rivers. The real question following this conclusion to the Hope County arc and all its DLC is where Ubisoft will go next with this franchise. Ultimately it is impossible to separate New Dawn from feeling like an expensive DLC for its predecessor.
