But as time passes, the plot becomes predictable, the trippy drug sequences are annoying and make no sense. The ending is not bad at all, excepting for the bad guy being bullet-proof. There´s too much Deus Ex Machina in this game. It makes no sense that Joseph survives, it makes no sense the nuclear holocaust he created inside the US, and that the main character and him could make it to the bunker.… Expand

    Great game, amazing coop. Played at the hardest difficulty. Love the story and villains.
    Expect bugs. I was able to break the game to the point I nearly had to start over (otherwise a 9/10 game, but the bugs are pretty serious).

    I ignored this game because I hated Far Cry 2.
    My friend was playing this game so bought a copy for me as well.
    I shouldn't have ignored this game as it's quite fun if you just feel like killing and destroying, reminds me quite a lot of Just Cause 2 which I liked. I like the open world and it's fun trying to destroy the cult. However I dislike how the story is implemented and how it    I ignored this game because I hated Far Cry 2.

    I like the open world and it's fun trying to destroy the cult. However I dislike how the story is implemented and how it has forced kidnappings you can't avoid and the game does feel too repetitive. I didn't mind the ending.

    AI companions are stupid of course, often get in your way or step in front of your line of sight. I had a companion step in front of me just as I was firing a rocket which you can guess the outcome of that.

    I hate being forced to use the Ubisoft launcher. The launcher sometimes has problems of often not being able to sync cloud save data or their servers not working. I lost several hours of progress as the cloud save did not sync properly.
    The game does have bugs, I liberated a outpost and a helicopter was spawned inside a building and was levitating and wobbling around clattering against the ceiling which eventually caused it to explode.

    I enjoyed this one more than 4th but less than 3rd more villains to kill means more fun i'll always take that i like myself a good revange story but the fact that our mc is nonexistent makes the whole premise pointless its like designing a plane to go on road than question why can't you fly you have plane as your name.     The gameplay is alright but the way every single interaction between you and the seeds is made is beyond lazy just randomly drugging you at certain points in the game to feed you exposition and doing that at least 3 times for each of them then spawning you at the location that the story requires you to be at THAT IS LAZY

    As a big fan of Far Cry 1, I decided to try FC5 after lots of years. In FC1 there were obvious AI glitches, but it was tolerable and sometimes fun as it was almost first of its kind game on that level :) Graphics in FC5 is really nice and storyline (I am in 1/3 lets say) seems tempting as well. Found myself sometimes watching the scenery being fascinated. Pity is that AI glitches in FC5As a big fan of Far Cry 1, I decided to try FC5 after lots of years. Pity is that AI glitches in FC5 reminded me of FC1 where noc behavior looked little a bit similar :) So what really drives down this game, is enemy and companion AI, after all those years, it looks pretty stupid, also according to current measures. And have to mention any aircraft model controls and behavior, drives me insane, each time I have an aircraft mission :D Wanted to note down the things why I cant give a higher score, as the glitches are obvious. All in all good game with really nice graphics, with couple of unfortunate things. There are no decimals in the score to be able to give, so I’ll be nice and give it 7/10, nothing more is possible :). Thanks.… Expand

Проходить сайд квесты надоедает буквально через несколько часов, второстепенные персонажи серые и блеклые. Зато добавили ОЧЕНЬ важные самолеты. Но все это мелочи по сравнению с гг. Вы думали, что Аджай блеклый и невзрачныйНу как то очееень средненько.     Played this game on PC and PS4. I like story in game but it's my personal preference. The whole other game is awful. You will be constantly attacked by cultists, bears, wolfs, fish and all other species. Worth to play if you have this game from game pass or ps+ so you don't spend extra money. Also I hate this system where you need complete big amount not interesting missions for story.

    Vilão principal e ideia interessantes mas o jogo é repleto de bugs, repetitivo e monótono, a jogabilidade é a mesma de Far cry 3, a adição de companheiros é interessantes mas são claramente existem alguns que estão lá apenas para falar que tem.

    The game doesnt have the mysterious location that other Far Cry games have. But I continued playing and eventually get over that. It is still an enjoyable shooter with a pretty nice open world. I prefer Far Cry in a far land full of mystery instead of a national park in one of the most developed countries in the world. But it is still a decent open world shooter.

    Эта опять все та же FAR CRY 3 только с большим количеством транспорта, и на мой вкус с более интересным сеттингом. Кучка фанатиков захвативших власть внушали надежды на достойный сюжет, а сам Иосиф Сид по превью казалось смог бы потягаться в харизматичности с Ваасом. Жаль что на деле ему дали от силы 30 минут экранного времени, да и тему фанатиков не раскрыли.Эта опять все та же FAR CRY 3 только с большим количеством транспорта, и на мой вкус с более интересным сеттингом.     For me this game doesn't deserves below than 7 although the story is not effective enough like FC3 but this game seems to me like a reboot of FC2, like the FC2 both have deep story work behind them but not shocking at all but they both have good gameplay so give it a try for just the gameplay (and the soundtracks btw).

    This game is a mess and the first far cry game i didnt 100% or even finish. It's a result of multiple factors:
    -good but boring scenery
    -the shooting is snappy but the guns are kinda boring and the ai is dog ****
    -the air and boat stuff controls badly
    -the bases and all structures have no verticality at all

    Fun and enjoyable game with lots of stuff to do in big open world. Characters were well written. Unfortunatly the main characters which you play doesnt have a voice that takes away the atmosphere.

    Farcry 5 is the third installment I have played so far and if the later Farcrys are similarly bland, this will be the last one I will have played. Seldom have I seen such a bland, undynamic open world, it exists 100 meters ahead and 100 meters behind you, but beyond that it seems utterly dead with only mission objectives inhabiting it. I like the new perk system, where new skills are notFarcry 5 is the third installment I have played so far and if the later Farcrys are similarly bland, this will be the last one I will have played. Seldom have I seen such a bland, undynamic open world, it exists 100 meters ahead and 100 meters behind you, but beyond that it seems utterly dead with only mission objectives inhabiting it. I like the new perk system, where new skills are not earned through XP, but merely by exploring the world and solving puzzles. I sorta like the companions, they're dumb, sure, but at least they make you feel less alone. Still, Fallout 4 had better written and fleshed out companions 3 years before the release of this game. Somehow there are also cameos of YouTubers in the German version of the game, not that the experience was immersive in the first place, but hearing their blaring voices utterly ripped me out of it. Also I highly recommend you not to play like 90% of the side-quests, most of them only give you money, not even a cool side-story or an interesting item.

    All in all, an alright game that loses its fervor way before you hit the end of the story.

    I don't want to talk about Joseph Seed here, but the writing is comically bad to the point where you just want to be killed by him and his goons just to let the suffering come to an end.    … Expand

    The game is a unique beautiful open world set in Montana, USA. The graphics and optimization are beautiful as the other Far Cry games. Finally, this game gets rid of the tower climbing and lets you discover missions organically which forces you to travel and discover the beautifully crafted county. Some rifles with scopes are simply OP. The worst part of the game is the protagonistThe game is a unique beautiful open world set in Montana, USA. He is a mute, nameless, junior deputy that you waste your time customizing his looks at the beginning of the game but you never actually see him because it's an FPS game and the only time you see him is when he dies and the camera pans out. I don't get it when the studios create a mute character with no emotion and create such beautifully crafted NPCs and antagonists with their own amazing accent and drive in the campaign. Joseph Seed and his family are one hell of an antagonist. They are scary psychopaths with their own drive and motivation to get what they want. You are randomly kidnapped by the cult and taken to the Seed family even if you are in the middle of a side mission or near your allies. This gets very frustrating because it happens a lot of times.… Expand

    The gameplay is fine, it's not incredible but its just slightly improved far cry 4, or slightly inferior new dawn, at least mechanically.     그래픽 좀 개선시키고 등장인물 이름바꾸고 스토리 조금 바꾸는거 말고는 할 줄 모르는 유비. EA처럼 섣부른 변화로 프랜차이즈가 망하는것보다야 낫다지만 새로운 시도를 전혀 하지 않고 매번 산소호흡기만 달아주는 유비가 밉다.

    The campaign could have been good but the endings are pretty bad personally. Next, with that being said I really liked playing the rest of the campaign. One final thing that I do not really enjoy about the game is there are a lot of bugs like people hanging out of airplanes when flying and some weird hitboxes on some objects. Finally, I would say that the graphics and sound were wonderful.

    Even though this game is filled with bugs, ads, microtransactions, and DLCs I don't care about, I still had a ton of fun outside of that. If those were absent from this game my rating would have been a LOT higher.

    Far Cry 5 is fun but not too memorable. The guns and mechanics in this game are great and satisfying, however the story is ok at best.

    Good humor (eg. towers). Good Npc behaviors. Good gunplay. Good progression system that motivates you to try everything. Was fun but its traditional Ubisoft formula.

Нет, всё тоже что и раньше. Не могу назвать хотя бы одного пункта, по которому эта игра лучше предыдущих частей. Довольно скучный сюжет, те же аванпосты , практически такая же графика. Жду выхода шестой части! судя по трейлеру должно быть и веселее и качественнее !… Expand

    Even though I heard that a lot of people talk about how they didn't like the game or how it was mediocre, I still wanted to give it a fair chance and was kind of excited to play it. I liked Far Cry 4 and I was looking for a good co-op game to play with my cousin, unlike Far Cry 4 you can play all the missions after the tutorial with a buddy. I did really like the game at first, but then IEven though I heard that a lot of people talk about how they didn't like the game or how it was mediocre, I still wanted to give it a fair chance and was kind of excited to play it. I liked Far Cry 4 and I was looking for a good co-op game to play with my cousin, unlike Far Cry 4 you can play all the missions after the tutorial with a buddy. I did really like the game at first, but then I started to see a lot of the game's problems as we continued. A lot of problems weren't as clear because I was playing it co-op and co-op can make even a bad game fun. Co-op may of been my favorite part about the game, but at the same time it has so many problems. A big aspect of the co-op that will not take long to notice that you can only get so far from other the player before it teleports you back and in certain missions it can end in failure. First of all, the I don't believe that players should be forced to be that close to one another. I get having a limit on how far they can get from one another, but it is ridiculous at how limited it is. I don't think I would have as many issues with the distance if it wasn't for the fact that it caused me to fail missions multiple times. I would say the biggest example of this is actually in the last mission of the game. Without spoiling anything, the last mission is a driving sequence where both players seperate into two different vehicles. The issue with this segment is that the host player's vehicle is faster than their buddy's. If the host player gets too far ahead of the other player the mission fails. This is supposed to be a pretty crazy part of the game and it's ruined by forcing the host player to wait up for the other player so they don't fail. That is just one example of the limited distance being an issue. There are other issues with the co-op as well. Another issue is the inconveniences it causes for the player who joins the host's world. When I played with my cousin I was in his world so a lot more things were limited to me than him. One of the annoyances was me not being able to start any of the mission and being forced to wait for my cousin to get over there and do it. This is more of problem I just have with the game and I get why they wouldn't want the player that joined the world to have that ability. I still think they should give the host player the ability to choose if they want the other player to be able to do so. Compared to the next issue I had with the game that problem doesn't matter to me that much . Throughout the game, me and my cousin would complete a lot of missions and beat a lot of regions. By doing that my cousin was able to upgrade his health some more and even a get an 3 weapon slot while I couldn't get any of that. All that effort I made with my cousin and I got nothing too big out of it. There were so many things that I wanted, but couldn't get any of it because I didn't do that stuff on my world. So I decided to play it on my world as well all the way through. This was miserable especially sense during that time sense I started Far Cry 5, I started playing Far Cry 3 and beat it. Far Cry 3 is a much better game and after playing it, Far Cry 5 really started to fall apart. One those aspects was the villains. Even before I Far Cry 3 I didn't care for Joseph Seed or any of the other Far Cry 5 villians. But when I noticed how much better Far Cry 3's Vaas was, I was just bored anytime I saw any of the Far Cry 5 villians were onscreen. It wasn't helped by how the missions were done leading to encountering the villians. The game tries to give you freedom on what missions you wanna tackle. You can pick which region you wanna take over and then within the region you get to choose which missions within it. Each main mission, side mission, outpost you beat, and whatever other things you do in a region adds up points to completing the region. An interesting aspect is that you don't have to do all the main missions to complete a region. For me, I personally don't like that mechanic. It makes a lot of missions feel like they really don't matter because another playthrough I may never play that mission and still beat the game. What makes it worse is that the main missions already on their own feel like bland side missions. Speaking of side missions, they are almost indistquishable from the main missions. There is no cutscene, just some stiff person talking to you. The mission is just as simple as kill these people, protect this place, or get this thing. Not all the main missions are like this, there are good ones, but not many stick out. Then there are the main missions with the villains. What I hate about these is that I am trying to do my own thing and complete other missions, but then suddenly I am dragged into these main missions even if I don't want to. It makes the main missions feel like inconveniences and I think I would of enjoyed them more if I wasn't forced into them. Overall the game just felt frustrating and boring.… Expand

    I have never been a fan of this series. But I played some parts. The fifth part, I think, is the most successful.
    Although not without the old minuses: a dumb antagonist, a dumb plot, monotonous missions (cleaning up bunkers). But the open world has become much more interesting and pleased with the ending.

I would give a 10/10 if the missions was nice. But its totally sh*t. And one more thing, THE TEAM MATES ARE RETARD. And arcade is so boring too.

    In the end, it was a really great experience. Twisted story and lots of connections between characters made this playable. Bugs were annoying at some points but it is forgivable. It needs lots of updates and patching.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. You as us marshall go to Montana to arrest some cult leader. But since you come with few people you quickly get captured like a fool. It is classic far cry scenario. Storytelling is great but I didn't really care about any of the characters. Endings are questionable.

    You still can't skip the damn cutscenes.

    Finally that "hold e to interact" is gone. You can do most of the actions by just pressing e! Looting animation is also removed, which is a nice change. I was tired of seeing the same animation for every body I loot.

    AI is terrible.

    Not enough weapons and most are copy of each other.

    It is just baseball bat and shovel now. Shovel is fun but still there should've been knives. Takedowns doesn't feel brutal enough.

    Vehicle takedown, for some reason is removed.

    Crafting is removed. You can only sell animal skin. Hunting and crafting is one of the classic far cry things. It is dumbed down here.

    To earn xp you need to kill enemies with certain weapons. I didn't like switching to weapon I don't want to use just to earn xp.

    There is always something happening on the map. You are just roaming and BOOM explosion. Can't relax for 2 minutes.

    Kidnapping gets tiring over time.

    Side missions are empty and not fun to do.

    Stealth mechanics don't work properly.

    Npc's that give you headache until you do their mission still exist.

    Not enough enemy variants.

    These prepper stash missions are really interesting and enjoyable. Hope this carries to fc6.

    Climb radio tower to unlock map is finally removed and I am happy for it. Now you unlock the map just by exploring.

    You can customize cars.

    Actual helicopters and planes are finally here.

    Some animations are faster and gameplay is refined.

    Gunplay is still great.

    If you can ignore the chaos happening behind you it can be relaxing and immersive. Especially when you are fishing.    … Expand

The fact that Far Cry does not come up with anything new and has been throwing us the same recipe in the form of a negative for years, and I don't blame ourselves for the best time in the game several times. In my opinion, it belongs to the series and I personally think that it works. But what didn't work out quite well, at least on my part, is the mission system that the developers have switched to here. On the one hand, I commend the authors for the attempt at change, but unfortunately I think for the worse. In previous episodes (except perhaps only two), we had a pretty cinematic game with a strong story, and the game rewarded us with a cut-scene for completed missions. There are also films here, but simply not to the same extent as before. To explain, you come to a place in the game where you talk to a character, and if it was a three or four, the cut-scene would start immediately. But that doesn't happen here, and you can still walk, jump, and shoot while you're talking to a character who gives you the task of walking. Just like you didn't talk to her. In fact, you don't even talk because your character doesn't talk, which makes it almost completely impossible for you to form a relationship with her. I may be too critical here, but personally it bothered me quite a bit when the previous parts were able to draw us into the story so well, and it's just not here. So, from my point of view, this is the biggest minus of the game and now it's just the good thing. So I can reassure you that if you are a fan of the FPS genre as such (which I am) and you are not very interested in the story (which I am interested in at Far Cry), then I think you will be satisfied. There are a lot of weapons in the game and you can create your arsenal with which you will kill your enemies. In addition to sprinkling enemas, an animal partner can also help you. Ubisoft has already tried this technique in Primal and it worked well for me, so it is quite clear that we have the opportunity here as well. But if that's still not enough for you, you can even finish the whole campaign with a friend. This is probably the best thing about the game. You can enjoy the whole parade with a friend and I believe that it will be an oven in two, but I personally played the game myself. Having criticized the game for its lack of cinematicity, I have to praise the passages where you freak out and fall into bliss. The scenes here are often cinematic and it is a pity that this is not the case with the whole play. The whole thing is underlined by the beautiful song "Help Me Faith", which I rank among the best songs from the games ever. In conclusion, I would mention that this is a good game, I just think that if it weren't for the cut-scenes where someone is talking to you without changing the camera angle, or at least your character said something, the game could still be much better. I would recommend the game mainly to Far Cry fans, but also to FPS enthusiasts. Only if you expect a stronger story, you may be disappointed with the game in the final. But if you are not interested in the story and you just want to shoot yourself, then I think you will be satisfied.… Expand

    To be honest, I don't understand why so many poeple **** on this game. Yes, it is worse than Far Cry 3, but not bad (at least in my opinion). The Mainquest is okay, the Sidequest are somtimes bad but most of the time also ok, the Gameplay is fun, and it looks incedibly good. 7/10

You can only sell what you've hunted, which completely defeats the purpose of hunting. The devs might as well replace all the    FC5 took away most of the things I loved about the last two titles.

    - Gameplay -
    In terms of combat and stealth, Far Cry 5 plays the same as Far Cry 3 and 4, which is good. But they removed the ability to hunt and craft. You can still hunt, but you can't craft. You can only sell what you've hunted, which completely defeats the purpose of hunting. The devs might as well replace all the animal locations with a bunch of treasure chests. Animal were also far and few in between. You'd rarely see random animal attacks, and the variety of animals was very narrow. I didn't like these changes at all.

    Scaling radio towers to view an area on the map is taken out, it's now done automatically when you've passed by that area. I personally really like climbing the radio towers in the older Far Crys. It was a bit thrilling, since I'm scared of heights in real life and would never climb that high.

    The perk system works relatively the same way, but I would say it's a bit harder to gain perk points compared to before. There aren't any over powered perks like "run forever", which is reasonable, as those perks in the old titles gave the player too much power. The boss fights were mostly silly. Especially the final boss. Very underwhelming and repetitive compared to past titles.

    - Narrative -
    This has got to be the part I disliked the most, but this is more of a personal taste. The antagonists of Far Cry 5 are a radical religious cult. I've seen a fair share of cult documentaries, and they are interesting to learn about. The craziness shown in the villains were also really well done. You could clearly see they were mentally on a different channel. Though at the same time, the villains all felt too similar in personality. There are 4 of them, and they have A LOT of monologues. Going through each area began to feel like a chore after I defeated first villain. By the end of it, I just got burnt out by that empty blank look they had, along with their cold monologues. Why did they do this? Far Cry 3 and 4 had villains of varied personalities and agendas. Far Cry 5 felt like it had 1 villain but times four.

    I also didn't like the fact that the protagonist was you. I liked AJ Ghale. I liked Jason Brody. One had a goal you wanted to fight for. The latter had an interesting personality change along his journey. There's a lot of customisation you can make to your avatar, but you never actually see him...so WHAT's THE POINT?

    - Visuals & Sounds -
    The game looks beautiful, and the facial expressions are REALLY well done. When the cult leader leans into your face and talks to you, he truly looks insane. The devs did a very, very good job with portraying a radical cult leader. The environment looks beautiful too. It's unfortunate the setting doesn't have as much mountains as the locations in previous Far Crys.

    - Replay value -
    There are a lot of things to collect, and side missions to complete after you finish the game. But it all feels very repetitive. The things you do in side missions and main missions just feel too similar. Plus, given the way the game ended, there's little reason to complete any of it, as it'll be all for naught.    … Expand

Не понравилось и то, что все сектанты глупо стреляют - я стоял на месте перед машиной сектантов без пулемета, в меня стреляло 2 сектанта, которые не могли меня убить секунд 30, и это все на высоком уровне сложности.

    Если кратенько, могу описать что мне понравилось больше всего:
    - Мне понравилась карта: она интересная, заполненная и живая; животные - частое явление в игре, есть их разнообразие, это несомненно меня радует.

    - Красивая графика, более чем достаточно для игры этого жанра. По сравнению с прошлыми частями, я получал эстетичное удовлетворение, когда находился в горах и когда был в лесу. Красивая структура локаций и биомов (в игре их 4).

    - Музыка. Такая эмпирическая. Описывает время и положение дел на островах.

    - Оружие на любой вкус. Если нравятся снайперки - бери, нравятся ПП - бери, нравятся что-то потяжелее... может быть... огнемет? Бери, конечно же! Радует разнообразие оружий без всяких дополнений.

    - Много транспорта. В этой части, как правильно подметили, больше современных реалий и отражений. Машин много в мире и в игре их также много. Есть побыстрее, а есть помедленнее; есть поменьше, а есть побольше. Добавили вертолеты и самолеты, которыми легко и интересно управлять (мое любое средство передвижения!). Жаль, что вот лодкам внимание не уделили. В игре не было смысла их использовать за исключением парочки миссий, жаль.

    Пожалуй, это все. Если бы расписывал все что понравилось и нет, то на это ушло бы больше 5000 символов. Я отметил основное что мне не понравилось и наоборот.    … Expand

If you like drugs you'll like this game, because every major story event practically drugs you to start, yanking you from whatever quest you were trying to do to take part in a mediocre story. They really need to work on their story writing in the future. Even the friend I was playing with that usually takes things better than I do gave the game a 6 out of 10. We won't be finishing my game as we both agreed that it was pretty garbage and quit to do other things.    … Expand

    Another negative point of game is that the main character doesn't speak at all. He just watches things without any reactions. The Junior Deputy is the first mute Protagonist in the entire franchise.
    Despite having same-looking boring missions, the big environment of the game made it look less boring!
    Overally, it's worth to play it for those who are fan of open-world games.

    Let's analyze the plot and what is happening in the game. Event's game happen kinda in our time. In County Hope, a fictional region in Montana. In this County captured religion zealots at the head Father (Joseph Seed) and his two brothers and one sister - who calls heralds. Map is split on three part, on every part we have a boss (heralds). You playing for deputy of sheriff, you come in there that restore order. We need clear every land, helping people from resistance and defeat bosses.

    As usually plot is not very good. He is primitive, even main quest. You are Rambo, kill everyone on your way. But i researcher and me just relax walking for world and do as i will. Yes, if you wanna play in game with difficult plot - fc5 isn't your choice.

    Game have a three ends. And three addons. Talking about second, although what we have talking about? I don't play in it all, but I reading a lot of reviews and they all as one proclaim, that addons is **** Don't believe me? Take read yourself.

    Yes, I almost forgot about soundtrack. It's so pretty, particular part with sister of Joseph - Siren.

    'key, what in outcome. In outcome, we have lovely Far Cry, which become still more beautiful, but with not the most delicious filling. Although main antagonists have some charisma.

    Pros:
    Realy enjoyable gameplay.
    Amazing graphics.
    Great companion characters.
    The addition of helicopters adds so much to the game.
    The new perk system is very well done and makes progression super fun.
    The DLC is just different enough to be a fun experience.
    Fun hunting activities.

    Cons:
    Repetitive mission design.

    Mediocre AI

    Unfair and poorly executed moments in the story that force the player to lose in-game fights, even if they take no damage.

    The worst writing I have ever seen in any game ever. The stupidity in the script is downright inexcusable. The reality that earplugs exist is a devastating plothole. The script is that weak.

    The review.
    Do you want to single-handedly dismantle a cult? Do you want a game that lets you hunt Bison with a semi-automatic 50 cal sniper rifle for profit? Do you want to be a one-person war machine causing unprecedented mayhem in rural America? Then look no further. This game is for you.
    … Unless you’re really bothered by a bad story and STUPID game mechanics. My biggest gripe with the gameplay is that throughout the main story of Far Cry 5, you are kidnapped constantly. You are a one-man/ one-woman death machine who can swat down gunships like gnats and walk off bear attacks, yet you are constantly being overpowered and kidnapped. I think it happens 9 times. I don't know who designed this “open-world” “sandbox” game, but the point is to allow the player to control their own destiny. To do what they want when they want. Not to randomly be kidnapped in forced, unfair sequences that are literally unbeatable. Every once in a while a “ capture party” will come for you. I, having played this game quite a lot, absolutely decimated several capture parties only to have an arrow spawn out of thin air, knock me out, and initiate a cut scene and a mission sequence I had no interest in participating in. It doesn't matter if you're too good to be captured, the game will force it. It will break your immersion, and become unfair just so you can “experience” the story. Which brings me to my main gripe, the story. It's dumb. It's really dumb. I have never seen a game try to sabotage itself with such an awful story before. I am going to go into spoilers here. If you're not interested in spoilers please stop reading. The reason you're kidnapped constantly is so you can be brainwashed. You're brainwashed so that if you choose the ending where you save your friends and to go get the National Guard, the game can have a shocking ending where you kill all your cop buddies. Wow. Edgy. But this isn't even the worst part, the reason I hate this is that while you were in the process of being brainwashed, it is made very clear to the player that the bad guy who brainwashes you, Jacob, can gain control of your mind by playing a specific song over the loudspeakers/ radio. So, dear reader, I asked you, why doesn’t the main character just invest in a pair of earplugs? Or they could just do what I would do, get a pair of headphones, blare some death metal and wipe out everyone in Jacob's base including Jacob so you don’t have to engage in this nonsense. But no, this is the world of Far Cry 5, where logic can't happen because the ending needs to be shocking. Also after you wipe out the Lieutenant's of the cult, and several hundred of their members, as well as much of their supplies, they magically kidnap all your friends in the end. Why? How? Because reasons. Why put effort into your writing when nonsense endings pay the bills. Oh, by the way, the other ending is that you defeat the main bad guy, he nukes the area, killing all of your friends undoing all the work you’ve done, souring the entire experience of playing the game because it was all for nothing… And the main character becomes his personal slave. Excellent writing yall. There's nothing quite as fun as a dominating everything in sight throughout the entirety of a game just to lose in the final cutscene.

    7.5/10

    (The way I recommend playing this game.)
    Skip all the cutscenes, completely ignore the story, or write your own, and just flat-out refuse to engage in the endings.

    Ended up picking up the game during the recent steam summer sale. So far I am about 20hrs into the story and complete one of the zones only because I spent hours driving around in a boat with a machine gun on board shooting everything I could. Overall story has some funny moments but it is still basically a re-skinned version of other Far Cry games to me.     At full price I would not say this game is worth it, but at the discount I got it at I would say it is worth while to pick up just for the story play through.    … Expand

Понравилось то что убрали миллиард вышек, как это было в 4 части (но все равно добавили другой хуйни), понравился главный злодей.     I had a lot of fun with this game, until I suddenly just got bored around the third act.
    The world is beautiful but the more time you spend in it the more silly the narrative built around it all becomes.
    Regardless of this there is still plenty of fun to be had in this game.

    Nothing in this game will give you any kind of satisfaction. The guns are weird, the AI is stupid, the enemy spawn makes no sense, the goddamn bloom effect is just annoying, the story is boring, you don't care about side characters and everything is absolutely easy, even on hard difficult, The hardest this on the campaign is to catch a fish for a quest. Oh! And every DLC sucks.

    First of all, the game has good optimization and excellent graphics. The magnificent atmosphere of the provincial remote American wilderness, which features farm fields, lake and river wilderness, and mountain ranges. You can rise to a maximum height by helicopter and see almost the entire map of the game. It’s a good idea to work with teammates who can drive as well while you shoot. ButFirst of all, the game has good optimization and excellent graphics. The magnificent atmosphere of the provincial remote American wilderness, which features farm fields, lake and river wilderness, and mountain ranges. You can rise to a maximum height by helicopter and see almost the entire map of the game. It’s a good idea to work with teammates who can drive as well while you shoot. But their AI doesn’t really "shine with miracles". By the way, the car's auto driving is a little bit crooked but sometimes it was useful. I liked the hunting and fishing, as the searching of different things like lighters and whiskey and the plot justification of that(extremely simple but no needed something more). For more, there were side full-fledged quests and the same caches, each of which had to be opened/found in a new way. Some side quests, by the way, were very interesting and funny. But some were dumb(flat toilet humor). That’s all what I liked in that game... And now the opposite:
    The release of outposts resets the bodies(and it is impossible to collect trophies from them). You can not hide completed quests(It's not new but It would be extremely convenient and I surprised and disappoint that many games ignore this). An extremely poor and not convenient inventory and store(What a fool came up with idea to make mechanics that ammunition you need to buy exclusively all at once?! You need bullets to rifle? - NO! you will buy ammunition to everything).
    Loot system: You pick up a half of it yourself, and a half are grabbed automatically(It’s extremely uncomfortable to think about where you need to press “F”, and where you just run past. Such situations make you "stumble" on looting). Plane flying is critically awful. AWFUL!.
    -Dumb AI(the eagle flies away from its place, enemies freeze in a car or near a tree during an attack, etc.), small bugs like opening companion's window instead of map when you receive new quest.
    Some other broken mechanics(in shallow water you can’t jump or climb the stairs, a scripted parachute - a low jump kills if the activation of the parachute started but did not have time to end).
    A co-op only for the chaos and fun, the Campaign resets the progress of the second player from you when you enter the game next time. Half of the skills are useless(I throw away planning of skills after getting 40% of them).
    And the most heavy sin: Story. An interesting idea is ruined by a tasteless, predictable and crooked script. Just a few things in each region were interesting, and all of them are a battle with the boss of the region. The drama of religion fanatical monologues are the opposite of the anarchy and "meat grinder" that they arrange in game, which kills any sympathy or attempt to understand their motives. It was understandable only for brother-hunter from mountains(Only strongest will survive). The ending of game was potentially interesting and unexpected, but extremely sharp and short. And not interesting from the side of the behavior and conversations of the main enemy at the end.
    A separate dislike of how this plot is basically presented: Each boss catches you 4 times, pushes a fanatical speech and ... let you go. 4 goddamn times. So in general, instead of trying to kill the enemy, you are caught and released 16 times. Seriously?! ...But the most strong fire was when it happened during a new quest. The NPC began to give the quest and during that they turn me off and catch me. It is wretched, stupid and tasteless.

There arent surprises lying in the story. The actual story is awfully short and you wont realize it because you will be tasked with a bunch of random missions to actually unlock the story missions. But the soundtrack is undeniably good that tries its best to create the Montana ambience that we were expecting but the seemingly empty, less detailed map negates it.… Expand

    Anyway, when I first started playing Far Cry 5 (day one), I thought it was awesome, and now, 2 years later I find that it is just the same. I mean that literally. I´m not to well aware of post launch patches and fixes, but it doesn´t seem to have been any. You still, after 2 years since launch, fall through the world, get stuck in animation, vehicles and trees, framerate drops and laggy/buggy (as hell) coop. The only difference is that there are more stuff to buy (for real currency) in the store. sigh...

    This level of negligence is not really okay for a game by release, but even less so for a game 2 years After release. It´s sad to see the lack of care Ubisoft has given Far Cry 5, which lowers the score and the probability for me to recommend this as a buy, especially as Ubisoft still wants full price for it even though they have skipped out on making it work properly.    … Expand

    I feel like this is like 50% of 2 different games crammed into 1. Each would be decent on their own, but put together it clashes immensely, and neither are completely finished.

    One part of the game, is an action game, you can stealth, or fly planes or choppers and blast all the enemies, no one care who they are or how they die. Even innocents can be killed without any consequence. This part of the game is the "Just Cause" part of the game. You're free to roam the entire world, and are tasked with liberating it through various small side missions. This part of the game is fine, but gets rather repetitive as there are not much variation in enemies or armory. It's over the top, you're killing enemies by the hundreds. It's decent fun, but feels like it could use a bit more before its finished, and then it would simply be Just Cause.

    The other game is not an action game but like a horror thriller. This part of the game is all the cut-scenes and all the forced upon you, unskippable story missions. It's how the game starts out. You need to stealth and getting hit by an enemy is serious. The villains try to get into your head. It would be interesting to have an entire game focusing on this part, a bit, I don't know, Resident Evil 7 or Adam Wake.

    But these two games clashes horribly in Far Cry 5. You go from being an unstoppable killing machine, to auto hit with sleep bullets that again, and again drag you into this completely other experience, where it's suddenly supposed to be very real and dark and gritty.

    I think letting players be in control when you get hit by the sleep attacks is a mistake. Surely it could be done better just keeping it all in a cut-scene. I once fought of the entire hit squad from John, but another just comes along. If you do want the player to have a fighting chance, don't give the enemies HP and the player a gun and active control.

    I felt very little connection to the NPCs. And the 4 main villains seems to be meant as "Oh they're crazy, but don't they kinda have a point?" but it's just insanity all the way down, and the protagonist never calls it out. And then at the very end of the game, it's revealed that the villains were right all along. The world was ending, or you could walk away. Both so unsatisfying endings. No ending leads to the death of the madman behind all of the horrors, and they even vindicate him. I gave up on the game several times, but finally I figured at least I would get to kill Joseph, but no. Magic and a Deus Ex nuclear Armageddon happens.

    The EXTREMELY super natural drugs were also so out of place to me. UNLESS you went the Just Cause cheeky action packed way completely. Combined with the serious cut-scenes and unskippable story missions, it was so weird to have "magic" in it.    … Expand

    Quanto a historia: É fraca. Um enorme potencial jogado fora. Não aprofundam em nada e possui furos inexplicavelmente escrachados. Os personagens são superficiais e não agregam em nada, os vilões principais não são carismáticos pelo simples fato de que a ubisoft não soube como trabalhar com eles. O final seria muito mais interessante se fosse pouco previsível por parte de referenciais, mas nem isso. Não houve impacto significante nenhum.

    Detalhe: As SideQuests, em suma maioria, são chatas e entediantes, como: Destrua isso, busque aquilo, faça isso. Nunca é algo que verdadeiramente te intriga, como numa side de The Witcher.
    Outra coisa chata é a quantidade de inimigos nas ruas. Serio, você não consegue andar em paz por 5 min. A caça no jogo foi completamente descartada e o ponto anterior corrobora mais ainda pra isso. Também não podemos esquecer do modo que os vilões te capturam. Simplesmente preguiçoso.

    Só vou dar nota 6 porque me senti entretido do inicio ao fim, exceto em raros momentos. Mas esse jogo merecia nota menor.    … Expand

I didn't like certain aspects, where you would just get captured and pulled away from whatever you were doing to go through their pre-scripted stuff. It was annoying and interrupted the flow of the game. We see this all the time in modern pop culture and it's simply not true. Give us a break from this stuff already. I game to get away from all this political indoctrination we see everywhere, not to receive more of it.

    I knew this was going to be part of this game from what I had already seen of it, but I bought it because it came down so far in price on Steam. I like the Far Cry games and I'm trying to ignore the not so veiled leftist anti-Christian slant, but some of the stuff just ticks me off.    … Expand

    My score to this game is 6.The good things in the game are graphics,music,characters and some missions.But there are lots of glitches,70% of missions are boring,awful plot,and small length of the game.This is not bad game but it isnt a masterpiece.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. este es un caso interesante pues tiene cosas realmente buenas pero otras muy molestas, empezando por las malas su campaña principal es repetitiva haciéndote hacer casi las mismas cosas una y otra vez en las 3 regiones del juego y creo que este es el punto mas débil de todo el juego ya que al contrario a como debería ser la campaña llega a sentirse incluso pesada pues cada cierto tiempo al avanzar en cada región del mapa te obligara siempre de la misma manera a que hagas una misión de la historia lo cual puede ser molesto si tu solo quieres explorar libremente.
    Ya lo segundo de las cosas malas es que trae muy poca innovación en cuanto a los far cry anteriores no se siente una gran evolución entre la tercera o cuarta entrega de la franquicia.

    Ya dejando de lado lo malo el juego tiene una jugabilidad realmente buena que hace que sea muy entretenido siendo esto de lejos lo mejor del juego y acompañado de mucho contenido por lo que puedes perderte explorando su mundo y encontrando cosas que hacer con la única molestia de que al avanzar mucho una zona el juego mismo obliga a continuar la historia de una manera muy poco sutil.
    con todo eso es un juego recomendable si eres fan de la franquicia de far cry pues es mas de lo mismo mejorando un poco algunas cosas y si no eres un fan pues no haría daño esperar para comprarlo en una rebaja.    … Expand

    Far Cry 5 is a nice and funny FPS that you’ll enjoy most in co-op. The well-proven concept would deserve a rejuvenation and adding a story that is adequate to the rest of the game. [Issue#285]

    This fresh take on the Far Cry franchise is clearly visible content-wise, but a tad more discrete on the style. If you're not bothered by the slightly repetitive formula, you'll enjoy the many strengths of this episode.

    Far Cry 5 doesn’t propel the series forward — it just refines all of its elements and relegates the infamous towers to the dustbin of history. So if you‘re allergic to open worlds from Ubisoft, don’t say I didn’t warn you. But if you’re eager to meet new wacky characters, complete dozens of missions and enjoy the sights, welcome to Hope County, sinners!
