    pareçe que a formula de farcry está ficando mais generica a cada jogo q passa , no 3 o jogo é simplesmente maravilhoso, no 4 o jogo é ok , mas é como se nao tivesse a mesma "magia" , ja no 5 está extremamente dificl de jogar , estou com um pouco mais de 14 horas , esse jogo é um porre pra mim , as missoes são todas genericas e é como se nao saíssemos do lugar , e parece q sao missoespareçe que a formula de farcry está ficando mais generica a cada jogo q passa , no 3 o jogo é simplesmente maravilhoso, no 4 o jogo é ok , mas é como se nao tivesse a mesma "magia" , ja no 5 está extremamente dificl de jogar , estou com um pouco mais de 14 horas , esse jogo é um porre pra mim , as missoes são todas genericas e é como se nao saíssemos do lugar , e parece q sao missoes apenas pra encher linguiça… Expand

    Extremely boring because of repetitive gameplay, Other singleplayer games i usually play for 6+ hours when i install them. But with this one i couldnt get past 2 hours because of extreme borediness, so I unistalled it :)

    While this game looks amazing (textures etc), this game is supposed to simulate real life, yet the 4 boss's cutscenes/interactions and powers are utterly illogical. So stupid. I cannot appreciate it at all.

    In a nutshell the game is basically like the most recent FC games - same engine and basic system as FC3 / 4 / Primal and runs smooth, but has terrible story progression (forced capture missions are terrible), and an awful ending to the game which makes your accomplishments feel pointless - skip this one. Final Rating: 3 / 10

I just replayed FC5 thinking I was too harsh the first time around, and I must have really been distracted to think this game was anything other than complete garbage. The story was a complete zero due to the nonsensical aspects that are passed off as reality (a single nuke takes out the world, or that torturing and murdering is "preparing", or that the US police would have ignored all of it). What destroys it is that it is all for nothing. Everything you did is undone at the end of it, unless you let the murderer continue on, making it all for nothing in a slightly slower manner. This was the worst FC game to date, and most of the other complaints (bad minimap, bugs galore, missions triggering before you even get to the area, getting "captured" multiple times while flying, etc) are all true FIVE YEARS later. Supposedly some of this was fixed in FC6 which I will try next. But FC5 is something I will never play again. FC3 and 4 are FAR better, in almost every way (except graphics, and even then they are passable).… Expand

    First off, I encountered the 30-minute opening cinematic. Yep, right off the bat you're blasted with 30 minutes of unskippable cinematics. Minus one star. It's not bad the first time you play it, but if you were to ever go back, it would be a serious annoyance. Just as annoying as Skyrim. It just goes on and on and on and on. You can't even walk away and do something else, because it ANNOYINGLY makes you press w to walk and w to take off a seat belt. I would go so far as to say this is the most annoying intro to any game I have ever played. Then you finally get to play a completely annoying rails shooter / cinematic, then, you guessed it, you're bombarded with another 20 minutes or so of unskippable cinematics. Absolutely awful.

    It's a BUGGY MESS, worse than Skyrim. So many things glitch out.

    The story isn't very good. Someone at Ubisoft should have asked if anyone outside of Montana cares if it's taken over by cultists.

    AI henchmen are totally useless. It's hard to believe they paid someone to program that feature.

    Overall, Far Cry 5 is a HUGE disappointment. Two big thumbs down, not recommended to anyone, even Far Cry fans. This game just sucks, and that's coming from a huge fan of Far Cry 3 and 4.    … Expand

    Pretty boring open world and not engaging from the start like FC3 and FC4 were. Also, the story missions feel like side missions and the plot is bad as well.

    This game had so much potential, the setting, music and graphics are pretty damn good and its just a shame that its tarnished with putrid story telling, game direction and development.

    But FC5 screwed the franchise up. FC4 was an evolution of FC3, some people didn't like the story but at least everything that was in FC3 was in FC4, they just add new things (like vehicles, new takedowns animations, weapons, etc)

    FC5 on the other hand simply removed many cool things from FC4, especially the healing animations that were cool as **** and many options of takedown. I've loved those things and I've got super disappointed, without those things, FC5 becomes just a generic third-person shooter game. The only special thing in FC5 is the possibility of bringing allies in your fights. I didn't like this mechanic because they are OP and they removed the challenge of the game. It was so fun and challenging in the previous FCs just trying to kill everyone at stealth with the many takedowns as possible. Now your "guns for hire" just do everything for you.

    The story is also bad. The beginning is cool but after that is just a downfall since you don't care at all about the protagonist (he is literally a nobody without a story) and your allies are just comic relief so you can't take them seriously, you can't even take the story seriously.    … Expand

    It's not a bad game. But from a AAA, it's awful.

    Pros :
    - Visually neat. Except usual clipping and a couple of missing texture, game's beautiful
    - Soundtrack is good while not memorable.
    - Lot of things to do, as usual. You can switch off your brain and enjoy cause lot of them are useless.

    Cons :
    - Gunfeel is awful. Weapons with so much recoil you can forget auto mode.
    - Story is not a bad idea, but is baddly done. Could really done a change of style, and explore morality involved, but no. You'll be FORCED to witness cinematics of variable quality, with sometimes irritating antagonist, and be teleported somewhere else on the map. YOU CAN'T AVOID IT. It's so **** up, so FORCED on the player i can't believe it passed QA or even brainstorming. Needless to say, there is next to no choice involved.
    - The rest of the story is doing the same randomly things (outpost, kill random event, some secondary mission) to th next cinematics, until you fill the gauge.
    - Did only one boss before overloading during the 2nd area and uninstalling th game. Faith is a **** boss. Neither giving satisfaction or fun. NPC are infuriating of dumbness (as much as your character)

    Like most AAA games, it play not baddly, but is SUBPAR in quality.    … Expand

    I have played FC2, 3 and 4, and I liked them. Although 4 was basically a copy of 3 (like most Ubisoft games), 3 was so good that playing the same game did not bother me. Now this game, while still being a copy of 3, it is also a lot worse than it. Garbage story with characters that you will never care about, idiotic story progression system that is based on filling a bar with points (whichI have played FC2, 3 and 4, and I liked them. Although 4 was basically a copy of 3 (like most Ubisoft games), 3 was so good that playing the same game did not bother me. Now this game, while still being a copy of 3, it is also a lot worse than it. Garbage story with characters that you will never care about, idiotic story progression system that is based on filling a bar with points (which cancels the remaining missions when you fill it), mmo style main story missions like "kill 2 bears", moron ai, and the absence of the feeling of "conquering the map" which is what made the previous games fun in my opinion.     Just finished Far Cry 4 and i dived into 5. OMG. Game begins like Call of duty, lotta similarities and i didnt like that, you killing Far Cry magic that way. What else i didnt like - Music, no map, weapons are **** somehow, missions are total **** and its kind of boring. cufk alll that. I dont recomend this game to Far Cry fans..

    Its so boring and everything is the same. You kill the same people over and over. Nothing new, nothing special is coming to you. There are many bugs and the cut scenes are so bad, boring and even kinda cringe. Its not even worth trying tbh

    I'm not going to talk about the story itself or anything, I kinda liked the intro, but only reached the point where you met with the guy after you escape (No spoilers, it's almost the same in all Far Cry, they don't know any other way on how to start a game) and I had to hit ALT+F4 because I only got 40 FPS on Low 1080p when my computer it's capable of running it on High 60 FPS 1080p. I'veI'm not going to talk about the story itself or anything, I kinda liked the intro, but only reached the point where you met with the guy after you escape (No spoilers, it's almost the same in all Far Cry, they don't know any other way on how to start a game) and I had to hit ALT+F4 because I only got 40 FPS on Low 1080p when my computer it's capable of running it on High 60 FPS 1080p. I've reached a point where I'm not going to buy anything from Bugisoft, all their games are optimized by 4 monkeys in an office in South Cameroon. I said I'm gonna give it a try, bought it twice on Steam to make sure, and it's the same **** tried everything and the game still runs like **** the only Far Cry than runs decent are 3, 4 and Primal. The Division, doesn't matter which one is the same **** Watch Dogs, both of them ofc, the same **** learn how to optimize games Ubisoft. I'm 20, been playing games since 2 (not kidding lol) and never saw such a garbage company except from EA, Apple and the rest of this ****ty magnitude. Don't buy their trash games, at least until they make something which can be playable by a PC which meet both recommended and minimum requierements and it still runs like ****… Expand

    Anyone who has played Far Cry 3 knows. The game has no old taste. Cinematic transitions, gameplay and gunfire, nonsense events... I deleted it halfway through the game.Play the game straight, there is no flow order. They just did the graphics. The story is not as good as you think. Those who played the series will agree with me. Just 4 point for graphics.

While you driving or walking, doesnt matter really. While you doing some things on the road, the ranch which you passed like 15 seconds ago, began crawling with enemies. Just like magic! When you arrive the area of dead deer, you find literally nothing! Because deer ran a little bit out of your draw distance and poof, it gone forever. I was fully ready to doing same things in this game. Cause i know its Ubi. But gameplay of Far Cry often fun and entertaining. Unfortunately Far Cry 5 dont let player play the game with fun. The things written on top just a tip of the iceberg. Tons of glitches, bugs and one-star missions etc. already exist in game. I just wanted some far cry-like fun but this game doesnt even let me fun.     Far cry 5 is an acceptable Ubisoft open-world game with an offensively mediocre story. I was convinced to make a Metacritic account just to warn others of how bad this is. Also don't forget the game will pull you out of the gameplay to force you into cutscenes by kidnapping you somehow while you're in a plane or at the bottom of a lake or in an allied bunker. This happens 9 times.

    this game that Ubisoft puts out every year has the same old objective "Kill the big bad guy terrorist dude". the only changes that Ubisoft makes are the map and more pew pews. when this game came out in 2018 it looked ok but even in my first playthrough, I was kind of disappointed in the end it is not an exciting game. the DLC get a solid 0/10 that are more rushed out than EA's gamesthis game that Ubisoft puts out every year has the same old objective "Kill the big bad guy terrorist dude". the only changes that Ubisoft makes are the map and more pew pews. when this game came out in 2018 it looked ok but even in my first playthrough, I was kind of disappointed in the end it is not an exciting game. the DLC get a solid 0/10 that are more rushed out than EA's games making them about as exciting as you would think the direction Ubisoft is going which is "else the same game every year with more guns the same story with minimal changes between each game and last but not less is more poorly made DLC and Microtransactions.… Expand

    First of all I must say I am a Far Cry fan, since the first game, and Far Cry 5 is terrible. I played almost 5 hours and there is 0 second of peace, game constantly spawning new enemies, every second someone shooting at you or some wild animal trying to kill you:
    cultists on pickup,
    cultist on pickup with gun, cultist on truck, cultist on van, cultist on board, cultist on ATV,    First of all I must say I am a Far Cry fan, since the first game, and Far Cry 5 is terrible. I played almost 5 hours and there is 0 second of peace, game constantly spawning new enemies, every second someone shooting at you or some wild animal trying to kill you:
    cultists on pickup,
    cultist on pickup with gun,
    cultist on truck,
    cultist on van,
    cultist on board,
    cultist on ATV,
    cultist on plane,
    angel cultist.
    And there no way to stop this, except to complete 150 quests, you cant just clear outpost like in previous games, because there 0 outposts showing on map. As a result I have statistic 582 kills in 4.52 hours and 28% story progress. Storyline weak, and has very annoying feature forced cut-scenes and forced dumb quests to "involve" you to the story. That ruins your game-play. And of course game has single player microtransaction. Cool graphics and sound doesn't help much. Shooting feels like it has 0 changes but that`s nice, it was good enough.    … Expand

    My previous experience with the Far Cry franchise is Far Cry and Far Cry 2.

    Far Cry (the original game by Crytek) was a pretty original game, nice open world and interesting story, with some flaws. At the time, it was a fresh take on the shooter genre that was way more linear, giving it a touch of that Bethesda open-world RPG (minus the RPG part, naturally). Far Cry 2 (by Ubisoft    My previous experience with the Far Cry franchise is Far Cry and Far Cry 2.

    Far Cry (the original game by Crytek) was a pretty original game, nice open world and interesting story, with some flaws. At the time, it was a fresh take on the shooter genre that was way more linear, giving it a touch of that Bethesda open-world RPG (minus the RPG part, naturally).

    Far Cry 2 (by Ubisoft Montreal) had many cool features going for it, like spreading fire and an interesting location... but honestly, it felt like a far cry ( haha.. pun inteded) from what Crytek had came up with. It didn't take me long to realize Ubisoft had simply capitalized on the success of the first game by Crytek and launched its own cookie-cutter version. It seems to be around the time Ubisoft went down the drain with the copy/paste formula of generic games.

    I had such a dislike for the formula Far Cry 2 offered; being rinse & repeat gameplay, that I haven't played ANY Far Cry game since that one. I FINALLY decided to give Far Cry 5 a try, eventhough I know how generic Ubisoft games are.

    I want to give it to Ubisoft for creating a very good looking world, great shooting mechanics and what appears at first to be a very interesting story/setting.

    Unfortunately, that's pretty much where the positives stop for me.

    Ubisoft really are the masters of generic gameplay. While I don't like comapring different styles of games or different companies, I feel like pointing out some comparison with Bethesda. Bethesda also have found some sort of formula... but unlike Ubisoft, they seem to always work on the next game and bring some kind of fresh take, whether it's game mechanics, story or setting.

    Far Cry 5 has some of the most annoying character dialogue I've ever heard, and cutscenes that I skip because nothing feels sincere.. everything feels out of place, fake and bloated clichés. The gameplay hasn't changed at all since Far Cry 2.. and from what I've seen on Youtube from previous entries, Far Cry 5 is simply another copy/paste job with boosted graphics.

    this is where I feel like games like GTA, Elder Scrolls, Red Dead Redemption, Fallout, etc... really shine because they come up with a linear story that takes you for a ride, but they still offer you some open-ended features.

    Unfortunately, for me Far Cry 5 feels like I'm playing any of the other Ubisoft games. I dislike generic games where you do the same thing over and over and over.. Capture this spot, defend this spot, attack this spot.. over and over and over. Even the Main Missions are just as cookie-cutter with very little intrigue or suspense.

    I think I'll be taking another extended break from Ubisoft games for the next 10 years. Too generic for my taste.    … Expand

    Ubisoft's game design philosophy mimics that of mobile game designers. They have made a very basic foundation for a game and in each iteration they update or redesign the art by using software that employ procedural content generation(Houdini for example) to automate the process as much as possible.

They have made a very basic foundation for a game and in each iteration they update or redesign the art by using software that employ procedural content generation(Houdini for example) to automate the process as much as possible.
    The core concepts of gameplay could be described as a very short and average main campaign that is slowed and hindered to a halt by artificial and unintuitive grinds to keep the player invested and sometimes to encourage purchase of boosters to pass these forced limitations. The gameplay was just as boring, but my desire to learn more about this dude kept me playing.

    Far Cry 5 doesn't have a charming villain or anything fresh in it to redeem it as a gaming experience. It's the same goddamn McDouble you've have had the chance to eat for the past 10 years. It's not going to magically taste better all of a sudden.    … Expand

    Stealth mechanics simply suck. What's the point of having a silencer if enemy NPC's are still alerted to your position when you shoot an NPC from a bush. Especially when the enemy NPC is alone and the body isn't found.

    Chain takedowns only work half the time, pistol takedowns work a quarter of a time, vehicle takedowns are no longer a thing, death from above now only works undetected, and death from below was used only once during the tutorial. Can no longer drag bodies after taking them down, making stealth much harder as well. Enemy NPCS will often spot you through bushes while crouched.

    Weapon variety went from nearly 40+ guns in Far Cry 4, to like 15 guns max in Far Cry 5. Basically, for each category (Handgun/Rifle/SMG/Sniper), the starter version is better than most of the upgrades you spend hours to unlock.

    Forced main missions make clearing up the side mission list annoying.
    NPC's in ATV's and trucks literally spawn like every 50m. You practically can't run anywhere without attracting someone's attention and getting shot at.

    Companion system is new and fun, but basically as worthless as the Death from Below mechanic. After the first companion, you will essentially pretend that the other companions you unlock exist.

    It's a goddamn mess. The tone is wildly inconsistent - one moment, it's a serious look into the 'christian' cults of North America and their methods of inducting members, chilling descriptions of the cult's brainwashing techniques repeated and professed by honest, earnest believers. The next moment, there's a drug called Bliss that lobotomises people, or sometimes it brainwashes people, and sometimes it's temporary but usually it's not, and it gives you telepathic powers? And the cult has been using it to indoctrinate people, and also fuel their explosives and... it's a contrived Deus Ex Machina, shoehorned into what could have been a sobering commentary on religious cult behaviours and abuses of power.

    Not to mention the staple of Far Cry - the villains - fall kind of flat. Joseph Seed is played very well by Greg Bryk but he's not really in it all that much compared to his three lieutenants - Jacob is a zealot obsessed with natural selection (work that one out) John is a... lawyer? Torturer? TV Show host? He's really keen on the word 'Yes' and it gets so uncomfortable the game tries to have a cute joke about it by giving you a mission where you blow up a sign that says "Yes" in the mountains, and calling it "No Means No." Cute, Ubisoft. And then there's Faith, who is manipulative, but also a hippy, but also manipulated by Joseph, and she's a telepath and she loves the Bliss, and... I struggled enough to care about Joseph, and in the end i just disliked them and their stupid circular logic to the point i was grumbling at the characters themselves. Maybe that's the point, but that doesn't mean i have to like it.

    Don't even get me STARTED on the ending. It's terrible no matter which way you slice it - contrived, unsatisfying, and makes everything feel like a waste of time.Again, maybe that's the point - but again, the point is dumb and terrible and i hate it.

    The rest of the game? it's pretty good, i guess. The core gameplay loop is fun and satisfying, you get to customise your character, and with every outpost captured you get closer to being captured yourself! Yes, after having fun in the wide open world you get railroaded into a cutscene with one of the boring cult lieutenants, then a short, linear gameplay section where you escape, and this... this happens about nine times over the course of the game. It's cartoonish, and by the time you're taking on your third lieutenant you'll just be sick of it. The Guns for Hire and npcs you meet are pretty likeable, and some of them even have good character arcs - but they're underutilised in a game that claims to be about a community coming together to fight against a huge threat.

    All in all, i can't really recommend Far cry 5. The story had potential, but it doesn't just fall flat - it crashes and burns, causing a 70-car pile-up with no survivors - not the characters, not the fun side activities, not even the staple Far Cry gameplay can get past the story's bloat. Which is a shame, considering how much I like the rest of the series.    … Expand

The only good ending happens in the very beginning when you can choose to walk away. I would say take that a step further...don't even buy this game. That's really the very best ending. Save your money and avoid the disappointment. For people who just want to play with the toys, FC5 does not disappoint. There are way more toys in the sandbox than any other game I've ever known. The soundtrack is decent as well. Yet 'Story' and connection are my payoffs and this game is empty in that department.… Expand

    The good part first: The map. Its a very beautiful map set in the US-State Montana with a mountainous landscape and rivers drawing a pretty scenery. If you climb up on mountains you can hear the wind whistle and sitting at the river fishing some fish with your dog ''Boomer'' can be very relaxing also. That being said;

    There are over 6 hours of cut scenes most of them forced some of them unskippable. The characters are unrecognizable and talk way too long while the main character (the one you play as) doesn't say a single word . The entire game. They ruined my favorite game series with micro transactions and just dry game play. The stealth has become a little more realistic which means its absolutely no fun since the enemies detect you way too fast even on the easiest difficulty. Far Cry 3 and 4 both had very distinguishable enemies and allies (blue and red) which means its alot easier to tell who to shoot and who to spare. In this game the enemies wear dark colors and so do your allies. While the previous Far Cry's implemented drugs in a sort of comedic and funny way, this game puts you constantly on a drug called the Bliss. Just sitting at a river for example cant be peaceful for on minute because you get detected and shot immediately. Ubisoft also left the knockdown mechanic in the game, which means if you get too close to an enemy they will knock you down to the ground all the time while you got shot. Ubisoft was also too daft to add a function that a dog can sit next to you in a car (just saying GTA 5 is now 7 years old and they were smart enough to know that dogs can sit in a car). The game spends wayyy to much time building up the villain (showing cut scenes of them killing people for example), and when you finally get to kill them its just another cut scene of them giving a horribly written and voice acted speech and then dying. The forced cut scenes and fillers are probably what makes this game absolutely horrid. If you gain aq certain amount of points by freeing a hostage i.e. you will be forced into a cut scene where you're captured in some sort of camp and escape miraculously. 9 times. The fillers are for example opening vault doors. You have to open like 10 vault doors in one mission to get out. The Problem here is that there is a wheel you have to spin to open in which takes like 20 seconds to do. They completely removed the need for hunting since everything is bought now. Also why is there different types of fish with individual weights but they all sell for the same value? Its pointless to go for the more challenging ones since you always get 100$ no matter how heavy or rare they are.

    This game is pretty much GRW with Far Cry in the title
    -Bullet Drop
    -Taking out smaller villains to get to the big one
    -AI companions
    -Micro transactions
    -Skins
    -Main Character doesn't really have a name
    -Helicopters with horrible controls and physics
    -Spawn points for cars
    -No crafting system, everything is bought (which also means hunting is absolutely useless
    -Different regions

    Its so bad that i think Far Cry Primal is more of a Far Cry than this.    … Expand

    Ugly mix of FC3 with Mad Max. High HW requierements does not correlate with improvements in graphics. Religion used in main plot is so dumb. At least I had it on Epic only for 5 Eurous with coupon.

    This game throws loads of unnecessary stuff at your face and you have to waste your time with them to finish the game
    annoying effects , mediocre weapons and shooting , definitely not satisfying ending (or exciting)
    I feel like far cry gets worse every game ( as in 3>4>5)

    Few good sides: nice vegetation, animal models, can be fun with friends. THAT'S IT. Everything else is worse than EVER in FC series.

    Same game as far cry 4, lack of innovation and ideas, less interesting history.

    I ONLY purchased the game to play with a friend and I can't because of the snowshoe error that everyone has.

    I contacted 3 TIMES Ubisoft support and spend around 4 HOURS trying to fix it without success.

    Stay way from this crapp.

    Such a bull **** some missions are so **** stupid ... that makes you want to quit in particular i had to hunt down GRIZLYYY BEARS and all i saw is wolves and black bears on a **** GRIZLY bear grounds... + The dream sequences just cut it off already come up with something better.

Tedious cut scenes (yes you can skip them but then you don't know what's happening) and enemies constantly, ludicrously, spawning practically right into my back pocket really steal all of the enjoyment I would otherwise get from the quests. Literally every quest, at some point, I find myself spinning around in a panic trying to figure out who is shooting me and invariably it's an NPC standing about 4 microns away right behind me. After the magic NPC has murdered me I get to start over, and likely have the same thing happen. Past FC games have made the challenges rewarding, and I've enjoyed that - but something about this experience just makes me rage quit after an hour long session, rather than buckle down and try harder. Both the exploratory play and the quests are made a lot less fun by the constant disappearing of ... everything. Want to go back to that vehicle you had to park in order to deal with half a dozen enemy trucks that magically appeared directly behind you? Too bad, it's probably gone. Want to loot all the enemy bodies after helping defend an outpost? Too bad, they're definitely all gone. Want to skin that animal you just shot? Good luck finding the carcass before it despawns. I'll probably finish playing all the way through, just because I'm a stubborn jerk and want to get my $15 worth. I can't see myself spending any extra time after the main story is done, in exploratory game play, like I have for countless hours with previous FC games. It's such a heart breaker because this game had so much potential. I really like the mechanics and the realtime visuals, and the environment is gorgeous - those are all areas where this game improves upon previous games, in my opinion. Unfortunately, at least for me, they amount to precious little saving grace (pun fully intended) in the face of the routine and fundamental frustrations. I know I know... "get gud". No thanks, I'd rather drag my sack across the pavement. I'd be real ticked off if I had paid full price for this game, but for $15 it's fine I guess.… Expand

The gameplay is ludicrously simple if you think about which companions you recruit (self-reviving snipers don't need help from the player), and strategy is never worth using.

    Sure, the player dies in a few hits on the hardest mode, but when your companions can casually clear any situation the challenge is entirely gone. The devs seem to have realized this to some extent, adding enemies which spawn in constantly and randomly, but this only adds a dreadfully monotonous nuisance which again the companions deal with easily by themselves.

    To top it off, once explosive weapons are unlocked the player doesn't even need his companions anymore.

    In a nutshell, fun for the casual gamer who doesn't pay attention to the story, but awful for those who require a challenge and/or immersion.    … Expand

(I could add a couple more: It's makers are apparently French existentialists and quite possibly insane.) Consequently the player is constantly being dragged from a mediocre video game into an Uwe Boll movie. And not one of those Uwe Boll movies that he's proud of and will happily fight you over. No, this is an Uwe Boll movie and that he finished, watched, said "Oh my G-d, what have I done?" and then hid in his basement. The movie- Sorry. The video game fails on every level except for graphics and controls and voice acting. The graphics are pretty. The controls actually work pretty well, although several times I discovered that I had inadvertently exchanged weapons while reviving a companion. The voice acting is good to excellent. The AI is . . . present. Sort of. Overall, there are some things to like.

    But the bad is very, very bad. The writing is absolutely awful; it would make Uwe Boll blush. It's failing film student fan fiction bad. My character has been captured so many times that I must be playing Far Cry: The Perils of Pauline. At one point I was arrowed and captured inside a building crawling with White Tails. The writers have greatly expanded their love of drug effects, so that I spend much of my time not in control of my own body. Cut scenes are long and dull. And most unforgivably, not one single choice I make as a player matters in the slightest. The makers of this game have their ending pre-written, and while it's worse than any SciFi horror movie ever dreamed of being, they're relentlessly driving you to it.

    I am so, so very glad I bought this when it had dropped to a cheap price. Unfortunately I succumbed to buying the bundle, so I have the sequel which I can't imagine I'll ever play. I award it two turds and may G-d guide its makers into rehab.    … Expand

That would be fine because Far Cry 3 was a really good game, but Far Cry 5 isn't. Every weapon seems like it's not adjusted so you shoot left and right off your target while laying down prone with a 8x scope fixed on an enemy's head and he's standing still.
    The map is fine and the elements of fishing and hunting work just like in Far Cry 3, so that's fine, but it doesn't make a difference at all to the game if it is in or not. enemies spawn all over the place ALL THE TIME, so you can't go anywhere without bumping into enemies and constantly have to kill 8 guys at every turn in the road. Visually the game looks good. nice colors and environment and the wildlife acts somewhat close to real wildlife so hunting feels real in some ways without being to boring. physics, especially while driving boats and flying are atrocious but you don't really care since it gets the job done and you don't depend that much on it.
    All this wouldn't mean a bad game if it was Far Cry 3 but this is Far Cry 5 and this game has the most idiotic and stupid story.... maybe of all time. You don't have a clue what is going on at any point of what the overall goal is with your actions or what the main villains plan is. You get kidnapped over and over to signal a new chapter in the story where you repeat the same over and over and over. I more or less figured out there was some thing about a certain sentence (won't spoil it) but you blast your way through enemies and bosses and you wait for that reward of finally nailing The Father and his family so you push on. Through the game I found myself not understanding why anyone would ever follow The Father since he strikes me as the opposite of a real cult leader, since he's talking about the bible all the time but it's gibberish, with zero context, not real bible quotes, quotes that don't fit any of the situations, Greg Bryk does a good job with the character but he's not a leader, he's a frail **** with an end goal that makes no sense and you don't care because there is no connection between the Potagonist and the Father and his family. You sit through cut scene after cut scene and plow your way through enemies in the thousands and in the end the game gives you the worst ever ending I've ever seen in any game that feels like a real and finish product. You feel like you got spit in the face and not in the good way where you want to do it all again to show who's boss but in the way where you feel like you just completely wasted 30 hours of your life on this stupid cash grab.    … Expand

    A bit repetitive, too much stupid, unnecessary activities but the worst thing about this game is streaming textures stuttering. It's unbelievable that Ubisoft don't care about it and didn't fix it. The game is 8/10 but it's unacceptable to release any game with issues like that, that's not what I paid for. Ubisoft, you should disappear forever, I won't buy any of your games again.

    Good graphics without any concern to play, a dumb story with forced cutscenes and forced dumb quests to "involve" you to the story. That ruins your gameplay and make game annoying. It's maybe the worst game i ever played, the relatively good graphics engine and the big open world doesn't help. I try to love this game but i cant. And the big bunch of bugs remained after one and half year.

    Playing stealth is no longer interesting, as in 3 or 4 parts. Just put the muffler on the machine gun and that's it. Remove the silencers, add more variety of weapons, increase recoil, take the ammunition from the player and start playing more interesting.
    At the very beginning of the game I had a lot of ammo, excellent weapons and all consumables.
    Change the concept of the game, it is impossible to play the same game for more than 10 years. From the first part only the graphics have changed, the rest is still bad.    … Expand

And that is exactly what the story does to this game. I feel like they were trying to make a deep though provoking ending like The Forest ... but Far Cry 5 does not do this.     I think the Far cry franchise have gone downhill. Every game is the same both with gameplay and story. The only noticeable changes are that you can now throw shovels, sticks and pipes. That you are playing in america and that the bugs are worse than ever before.

    The only enjoyment i got from this game was by playing with some friends.

    So don't play this alone if you can.

    Far Cry 5 is a nice and funny FPS that you’ll enjoy most in co-op. The well-proven concept would deserve a rejuvenation and adding a story that is adequate to the rest of the game. [Issue#285]

    This fresh take on the Far Cry franchise is clearly visible content-wise, but a tad more discrete on the style. If you're not bothered by the slightly repetitive formula, you'll enjoy the many strengths of this episode.

    Far Cry 5 doesn’t propel the series forward — it just refines all of its elements and relegates the infamous towers to the dustbin of history. So if you‘re allergic to open worlds from Ubisoft, don’t say I didn’t warn you. But if you’re eager to meet new wacky characters, complete dozens of missions and enjoy the sights, welcome to Hope County, sinners!
