It is amazing, how this game is pretty much Fallout 3 but feels totally different. Much more akin to the old, good, titles. Freedom, that's what this is about. Each playthrough can feel completely distinct from the last, and there is so much well written content that it may never lose its replay value. The biggest hindrance on New Vegas is that it is a broken, buggy mess. The game suffers greatly from bugs, especially on consoles but not as bad on PC. Nevertheless, the game feels like it needed more time to iron out these issues to make a truly 10 out of 10 experience. If you're a fan of the original Fallout games then you will no doubt have a lot of fun with Fallout: New Vegas! Expand

It's the only game in this series I played but I enoyed it very much. The typical bugs and quirks of Bethesda where of course present but mods helped me smooth some of it out. Even today I remember some of the stories that played out in the Vaults, so writing at times was very good.

The only good 3d Fallout game. Not flawless but still solid. Plot, screenplay, dialogs performed way better than in Fallout 3 or 4. But gameplay, combat and level design have not passed the test of time.
    So 8/10

the game has really interesting RPG elements. The quest writing is quite good, the character editing is a bit bland and didn't age well. If you like the action rpg genre you must play this game, because it still enjoyable even to this day, the AI is better than cyberpunk. The game however has a great mod community

This game was a great follow up to Fallout 3 - Only Flaws I felt this game really had were; This game is BUG CITY and not the funny ones, the game breaking ones. The map was short, turning a 80+hour story line into a 20+hour game.

    Weapons were fun

IMO should've just been a DLC to F3

I would rate it 10 but its fake las vegas looks like trash vegas. And all because of bethesda rushing obisidian to release it before completion

An old classic, though I only started playing this game in 2019, but despite the crash issues (that's the only thing I didn't like), I still enjoyed playing it.

This game is extremely immersive and compelling; it should be used as a guide for video game story telling. The RPG elements are nice, but the gameplay is a little boring. is just shoots your gun for you. The game breaking bug also keeps this game from becoming a masterpiece.

I absolutely adore this game and believe it is one of my favourites. The story is interesting and enticing, the humour is on point and the side quests are prone from sounding boring at first before creating one of the most memorable side stories in the whole series (The quest 'Come fly with me' is a great example). However, as anyone who has played anything related to Bethesda can tell you, the bugs are extremely prevalent and my game crashes 3/5 times when first loading up a save. Regardless, I would/have recommended it to everyone who'd listen to me and if you're like me and want to have more creativity with weapon customisation, I'd highly recommend cashing up 3 extra dollars for the gun runners arsenal dlc, which adds more weapon mods and ammo types.
8/10 Would be 10 if not for the bugs!!

A Great sequel to Fallout 3 but I don't find the story as compelling as the plot of Fallout 3. The thing about factions is cool but not that great to bend minds over it. Other things seem pretty much similar to Fallout 3. Would still prefer Fallout 3 over this game. Also, you cant continue the game after completing the main quests which is a bummer for me.

The characters and factions retain that old Fallout charm they are witty, unique and well voiced however it is very hard to form any kind of attachment to any of the characters. This, I believe, is mostly down to the engine, very little emotion appears on their faces as they speak, it would be the real life equivilant of going to watch a play where none of the actors have read the script before and no indication of how they should feel is given. The story was somthing of a dissapointment in my opinion; I have always been a fan of narrative diven play whereas the open ended nature of New Vegas leaves very little space for detailed narrative. The weapons available to the player, remain as satisfying as ever, whether it is driving (a large number of) rifle rounds through the head of a Deathclaw or firing mini nukes into crowds of gambling innocents. While on the subject of crowds this, as with Fallout 3 is a dropping points. In the so called epic battles of the game, it is rare to see more than a dozen people in your area. This gives rise to a laughable occasion in the game when a particular character gives a speech.... to a crowd of around 5. What else is there to blame for this than the engine again, which unfortunately will hamper an otherwise great game all the way. Whether its the poor lip synching, to poor walking animations (walk diagonally and you can ice skate) or the rather imbessilic enemy AI, or the main issue which remains a large base of bugs and performance issues. Hopefully light will have finally dawned and this will be the last we see of this engine in any future game (TES V, anyone?)

Fallout new vegas is a great game that will entertain you for hours how ever it is not much of an upgrade from fallout 3 which was released 2 years prior to this game. The graphics are pretty much identicle, along with gameplay. How ever there is nothing wrong with that if you loved fallout 3. Your more or less getting the same thing except with a brand new map, and over 100 hours of gameplay. And i know what your thinking "That's not the same thing! Your whole statement is bull" but hear me out. Yes bethesda has given us 100 new hours of gameplay but it feels too much alike fallout 3. guns, graphics, enemies, and some quests are exactly like ones ive already played in fallout 3. It does have its upsides though. Overall Fallout new vegas is a great game. However if you were looking for something new this is not the game for you. I give Fallout new vegas a 7.5 out of 10

I actually enjoy wandering around the map discovering things and seeing what I can find. Most games like this restrict where you can and cannot go; other than the outside borders, you can explore this whole world. Fallout 3 was a 10 for me. New Vegas is not as good, mostly because of how glitchy the game is. You can lose hours of game play just because it freezes. You can lose "companions" that fall places. You can utterly screw up your entire game by going out a door you cannot re-enter. It would have been a great deal better if they had waited to put this game out and fixed the glitches. One of my good friends told me how glitchy it was and I thought it must be something she was doing or her system. Nope. At times, you cannot get totally into the game because you need to think about whether its going to freeze on you. That makes a 10 a 7 to me. Expand

That's not to say there isn't a lot of creativity on display here, its just that sometimes quests can be kind of meh. This is an enjoyable game. Its focus on the wasteland, rather than on the player's character's daddy issues make it very true to the originals. What I'd like to see next time is more mysteries being revealed, as for now some of the plot elements are very strong at start, but feel like could have been expanded into epic side-quests, such as the solar power station could have added a bit more juice to the plot. In overall, worth one hell of a play-through. Expand
