While the action is still there, the open-world is barren and boring. I guess that's what I get for playing a post-apocalyptic desert revenge simulator. This game doesn't have the charm that Fallout 3 has. I just find trying to survive in a nuked-out post apocalyptic Washington D.C. more appealing, I do like the ammo making, iron sights, and weapon mods features, but the game doesn't offerWhile the action is still there, the open-world is barren and boring. Have tried to play through it all now for like good 3 times with 2 to 4 years in between. Hbomberguy's review made me give it another shot!

Each time I hit Vegas I lose all interest in the game. Its not the dated feel to it, or the world building. The quests are definitely memorable and the choices you get to make improving your character are vastly improved compared to Fallout 3. But

But for some reason seeing Vegas is always underwhelming, and interest is lost once you meet Mr. House. Up until that point its a great ride though!

I honestly recommend the Ultimate Edition to everyone who Skyrim still left hungry for questing. [April 2012, p.78]

As you can see Obsidian and Bethesda hook the player up right to give them a fighting chance at surviving the treachery of New Vegas. As a fan of RPGs and shooters, Fallout: New Vegas had a lot to offer me in the over 100 hours of exploring saving and destroying the various factions that are housed in the wasteland. I also thoroughly enjoyed the DLC, especially Old World Blues which despite its insanely long dialogue was a lot of fun and the experience and gear were totally worth the trip. I highly recommend picking up Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition for the PC as soon as you can.
