    Bad port of a mediocre game. I never got to really like any of the characters and there always something making me nuts while I played (like the fact that Monkey almost only jumps to preset locations, even if it makes no sense). Didn't like the ending neither.

    One of the best games I've ever played. The controls are a little clunky, and the platforming is not all that great actually. However, I loved the story and the characters which is why I place it among the best games for me. I cut 1 score point because of the bad controls, otherwise it would be an easy 10 in my opinion.

    I guess I was wrong in judging this game would be of interest to me. It is too linear, and compares unfavorably to the uncharted series. Am a fan of neither the storytelling nor the gameplay.

    - For the time it was a relatively good looking game with enough scenery to show it off. - The combat felt fine, it has a relatively decent combo and upgrade system. - The story may have not been super deep but it was relatively well executed. - The animations and voice acting for the time was relatively well done.     - Because it's (mostly) just you and your partner going through the world it feels so empty. If the game could have been designed to not be quite so barren it would have made it more fun for me.

    Mouse + keyboard control is poor. It doesn't move your view proportionally to the mouse movement you make. It first doesn't move at all until you reach a specific velocity threshold, then it moves the screen in a chunk. It seems to have additional mouse acceleration, which gets dynamically changed depending on your location. All very bizarre. It also forces your view in some spots which isMouse + keyboard control is poor. It doesn't move your view proportionally to the mouse movement you make. It also has very strong negative mouse acceleration.

    With a controller it's more stable/normal but I think a controller is not ideal at all for this type of game, and the game doesn't let you customize the controller settings either. So 3rd party software (DS4) is necessary.

    A problem I had with a controller is that panning is a constant speed, which means continual motion blur (144hz TN monitor). But with a mouse you can do quick turns and thus minimize the amount of time the picture is blurry. Thus, even with the major mouse problems a mouse + keyboard are preferable for me. But due to the negative mouse accel you have to play with really high sensitivity.

    I had mouse smoothing off. Turning it on makes panning more like a controller.

    The quality/textures get messed up during the cut scenes sometimes. The Steam community config section for the game has some config file tweaks that help. But even beyond that there are many low quality textures in the 2nd half of the game.

    The story is nice enough and raises various ethical and societal topics. But as others have said, the gameplay flaws are significant.    … Expand

    I thought it was fun. I little repetitive but still fun. the story does grab you but the ending seems to take a little too long and just isn't really good... Gameplay is fine. A little trouble with the camera and figuring out where to go but nothing to make your bloodpressure rise. Not a lot of variation in the enemies but there's some variation in the gameplay so that kinda makes up forI thought it was fun.     A classic action game with some platforming elements (which are very linear and kind of play themselves). The fighting is fun if not a little easy with the available upgrades. The characters are likable and the acting is good. I thought the ending worked with the story. It's a little bland, but I enjoyed my playthrough.

    Great story and narrative along with lovely graphics which create a deep sense of the post apocalyptic world monkey and trip live in. However game play is simplistic and unidirectional as you are led the whole way through it. There is no room for exploration and the upgrade system is not used well at all as the game can be easily completed without using any upgrades.

    One of the best games I have ever played, makes me think that this game is extremely underrated because it made its way up to my top 5 list. I would recommend this game for anyone who is into adventure games with a ton of ass-kicking. I would rate this game 10/10, it has a interesting story that fits the setting of the game, and it really deserves a sequel for many reasons, but the most important reason for the sequel is because of it's open ending, and there's a high chance that the sequel would have done better, Although it does have some technical issues experienced on the PC and PS3 that made it unplayable for many people, but don't let it stop you from playing it and it didn't stop me from giving a 10/10, because almost all of the issues on the PC are fixed by the community here and there, and if you have a Xbox 360 then you are in luck because it runs perfectly without any problems on it. I played it on my PC and the minor technical issues didn't bother me al all since it's easy to fix almost all of them so it's a 10/10. I hope whoever plays this game enjoys it as much as I did.… Expand

    Немного наивно покажется для людей с жанром хорошо знакомым, ее не успех связываю с несоответствием сюжета и самой игры. Все же она для детей и подростков. Но не спорю, что возможно мой скепсис основан на моей не любви к играм в жанре. Сама по себе, что боевка, что скалолазание очень скриптовые и на 1 часе очень надоели слоу-мо крупные планы при дурацкой архитектуре чек-пойнтов, я банально устал кат-сцены по два-три раза смотреть после "гибели".    … Expand

    Gameplay wise, it blends platforming and combat, that gets a completely different treatment.

    At first, platforming feels great (especially with the fake time pressure at the beginning) but after a while you realize that it's mostly impossible to fail (except while associated with time limit or timing) because graps are highlighted and kinda "magnetic"; plus you have invisible walls that prevent falling.

    On the other hand, the combat feels ok at the beginning but quickly ramps up, forcing you to learn how to combine moves, staff punches and shots.

    Even if the game is some kind of a "storyplaying", I think there is a missed opportunity. Monkey is a strong and agile character that can climb almost anywhere... but during combat, he's suddenly way less agile. It's not possible to exploit the environment or even jump over an enemy to take him from behind - to do that, you'll have to perform a ground roll with slow recover.

    For me that's the lowest point of the game, that is otherwise really enjoyable.    … Expand

    Um excelente jogo que cometeu um erro grave de marketing e acabou pagando caro por isso. A jogabilidade é muito boa e as expressões faciais dos personagens são muito avançadas para a época. Uma pena que poucos o jogaram.

Relacje między głównymi bohaterami przypominały mi te występujące między Księciem i Eliką w Prince of Persia (2008) - co rzecz jasna powoduje, że możemy jeszcze bardziej zżyć się z bohaterami i zapewni nam masę świetnych emocji podczas rozgrywki. Z niecierpliwością grałem iEnslaved: Odyssey to the West jest świetną grą, która po lekkim „podrasowaniu” grafiki prezentuje się całkiem nieźle. Relacje między głównymi bohaterami przypominały mi te występujące między Księciem i Eliką w Prince of Persia (2008) - co rzecz jasna powoduje, że możemy jeszcze bardziej zżyć się z bohaterami i zapewni nam masę świetnych emocji podczas rozgrywki. Z niecierpliwością grałem i grałem w oczekiwaniu na dalszy rozwój wydarzeń. Odnośnie długości rozgrywki, to główny wątek fabularny składa się z 14 misji + Epilogu, których przejścia zajęło mi (z krótkimi przerwami) około 8 godzin - co w połączeniu z DLC (3 godziny) daje około 11 godzin zmagań. Warto jeszcze dodać, że gra posiada rewelacyjny postapokaliptyczny klimat, którego od tak dawna nie miałem okazji poczuć w żadnej innej produkcji. Jeśli jeszcze nie graliście w Enslaved: Odyssey to the West - to właśnie nadarzyła się ku temu idealna okazja! Gorąco polecam ;-)

    + fabuła i postacie (Pigsy rządzi!)
    + postapokaliptyczny klimat
    + projekt etapów
    + różnorodność rozgrywki
    + trzyma w napięciu do samego końca
    + w zestawie z DLC: Pigsy’s Perfect 10

    – brak opcji związanych z grafiką (trzeba samemu edytować pliki gry)
    – wiele uproszczeń związanych z rozgrywką
    – drobne błędy techniczne
    – dlaczego na wersję PC czekaliśmy aż 3 lata?!

Incredible locations +A very interesting take on the book "Journey to the West" +Incredible soundtrack +Nice, fluid and somewhat fun combat and "parkouring-ish", assuming you managed to get the game run well enough.    Mind you, this game is NOT a bad one. It's just that, for several reasons, I just can't recommend it fullheartedly.

When most UE3 games in that time were mostly abysmaly brown and grey looking, this boasted so much color variety and it really helped making a great looking game with interesting take on post apocalyptic setting where AI has wiped out most of humanity and those left alive turned into slaves, with few running free always in danger. Animations were slick tho, especialy Monkey's which has mocap done by legendary Andy Serkis. Story was fun and overall enough with some noticeable character development and likeable 3 main heroes, but ending felt somewhat anti climatic with few questions of mine left unanswered.

    Can reccomend to anyone who likes solid action hack & slash games.    … Expand

    Este juego és tan fantástico no tengo plavaras.En las primeras impressiones no me pasava por la cabeza que me gustaría tanto la historia me sorprende muchísimo. Note varias cosas geeks en el juego como el personagem está claramente inspirado en goku de DBZ como otras cosas como la seta illuminati haha etc...
    El juego esta lleno de contenido no se porque vendió tan poco.     Enslaved es un juego de acción/aventura bastante vistoso. Paisajes muy coloridos y atractivos, una movilidad y jugabilidad
    rápida y con una historia un tanto épica y simple. Si bien, el juego trata de hacer muchas cosas como hack n' slash o resolver puzzles, estos elementos quedan muy simples, siendo muy simple los puzzles y el sistema de combate se vuelve muy muy repetitivo. Además    Enslaved es un juego de acción/aventura bastante vistoso. Paisajes muy coloridos y atractivos, una movilidad y jugabilidad
    rápida y con una historia un tanto épica y simple. Si bien, el juego trata de hacer muchas cosas como hack n' slash o resolver puzzles, estos elementos quedan muy simples, siendo muy simple los puzzles y el sistema de combate se vuelve muy muy repetitivo. Además básicamente existen solo 4 tipo de enemigos, faltandole mucha variedad. La historia se queda corta, tratando de ser ambiciosa, se queda en algo muy simple y poco profundo.
    En resumen, enslaved es un juego divertido para pasar el rato pero que otros juegos pueden desarrollar de mejor manera los aspectos en el que éste carece un poco. Cabe destacar los puntos fuertes que son los ambientes, los personajes son carismáticos, la relación trip y monkey se da bastante bien, y el humor básico que aporta pigsy cumple. El epílogo también destaca, a mi parecer fue un punto fuerte del juego.
    Recomendado para cuando esté en rebaja.

    Its gameplay style and combat mechanic were clearly designed with the console player in mind. When transferred to the PC, the entire experience is undercut.
