Endless Legend is a lovely game with deep strategy that's a singular pleasure to play, but can sometimes disappoint you in finer details. Know that if you're never going to play multiplayer, you're not getting the whole experience - so bring a friend.

Endless Legend combines fantastic fiction with compelling strategy. Underpinning it all is a strong design philosophy that connects the tenets of the 4X genre together seamlessly, while providing a plethora of options without being overwhelming. Even during a time when we’re seeing a lot of 4X offerings, it sets itself apart, promising something different from its contemporaries.

It takes a classic strategy formula, but makes it feel fresh, offering a fun, addictive and almost unique experience.

Daunting to an almost discouraging degree at first, but once you get the hang of it you’ll get sucked right in, and afterwards you’ll probably need a cooling off period before trying again. But you WILL try again.

Endless Legends defies Civilization with a deep strategic gameplay, and a luxuriant fantasy setting.

A gorgeous, smart and addictive game that is somewhat let down by weak AI. If Amplitude sticks with it post release, it could easily become the new king of the genre.

A fresh mix of Heroes of Might & Magic, Civilization and the 4X strategy genre that boasts an enticing atmosphere but lacks polish. [Issue#246]

If you like 4X and Civilization, you will get many, many, hours out of this game.

The game looks fantastic while not being really demanding (mostly because of the artsyle) and the music is absolutely amazing. Even the menu music from the first time you launch the game blows you away. The tutorial explains most of the stuff and makes sure you are not overwhelmed by the plethora of options while still leaving away enough for you to discover.

10/10, completely ruined my excitement for Civ:BE

However, this game should be played with friends. The AI is VERY weak. I've played against 6 AIs on the highest "Impossible" difficulty level and they didn't pose any kind of threat. They simply have no military power whatsoever. I could declare war to three factions at once and prevail. The "neutral" armies are a much bigger problem than the AI "players". Also the combat in the game is rather "schematic" and unpolished. So I carry all fights in "automatic mode" because it saves time. Expand

They each have a unique feel and play differently from one another. You get to customize your units and keep upgrading them forever which I really like. They mixed in a small number of RPG elements into a turn based strategy game, which is nice. Hero's, equipment, quests, temple exploration. You can micro manage combat, but after the first couple of battles I tend to just auto resolve it.

This game does have issues with stability though. It tends to crashes every so often and gets slow in late game. Which is why i give it a 7, fixed those stability problems and it gets a 8.

Yet game doesn't offer any means to increase text size until it becomes readable. That basic failure requires so low an intelligence that you would wonder why the game maker even tried to make a strategy game. Anyway, it cannot physically be played, so the intrinsic value of the software is simply zero. Expand
