Empire of Sin is terrific. I started playing after the last patch and have not had a single issue. The turn based combat is a blast, The world is gorgeous. The theme is perfectly executed - including terrific missions and characters. It is clear the the game is super deep, but I'm don't have to dive into everything at once which I appreciate. Highly recommended!

Love the era, love the characters, and love the music!

It seems there were early bugs, but there have been a lot of updates and I only just started playing it so I haven't hit any of them.

My absolute favourite game that keeps getting etter and beter with every patch. They put alot of work into making the best out of their game. I am usually not into strategy games but I love Shadowrun and the Mafia..so Empire of Sin is the best of both worlds!

I can only recommend this title to anyone who enjoys Mafia-themed games, empire management, as well as RPG elements sprinkled into the mix. Also, turn-based combat is always fun in my book. Expand

The combat is fun, the environment is gorgeous, the bosses and characters are interesting, and the music is amazing! Combat is definitely one of the best parts of the game. I love rolling into a place with Maria on my crew. Really loving the 1.04 patch too, lots of cool changes.

I played it when it came out and it was too buggy, so I went on to play . But then I saw it come to Game pass and it reminded me to go back and tried itt, since I had already bought it and all. And there were a bunch of updates with TONS of patch notes so I thought it would be worth checking again because I love Paradox games.

MAN am I glad I did. I've sunk tons of hours into it since

MAN am I glad I did. I've sunk tons of hours into it since then, completed it a bunch of times (I still wish it was a bit harder, even on the hardest difficulty), and can't wait for more updates. I'm not one to buy DLC usually, but if the first one is a good one I might consider it.

OMG I love this game! I was hoping I'd find a true successor to 1998's Gangsters: Organized Crime game and was not expecting the incredible showcase that this game brings. So many hireable gangsters it feels like Jagged Alliance, the awesome combat is totally XCOM2, and the economics of the game where you're building an empire out of rackets is like a strategy game. Putting them all together was a stroke of genius and it plays really well, even on my crappy PC. GamePass has really brought the goods!

There are 14 bosses you can play and there's 60 gangsters you can hire. And a there's more voice-talking audio than I expected – it has really high quality. I know I'll be playing this one for ages.

I love old mafia movies and classic shows, and I was surprised when i found this game on Game Pass. I decided to try it out and was pleasantly surprised – it scratched my mobster itch and made me laugh because the dialogue and violence was so casual. Lots of strategy with XCOM fighting and tons of characters means I'm going to be spending a long time figuring this one out.

New player here! The devs gave such a good performance at PDXCon that I was inclined to play EoS soon after, lol.

EoS is great. Open world, missions and empire management! I've been convincing my friends to play since I've been having so much fun lately. Can't wait for the DLC!

As an Organized Crime enthusiast, this game hit all the right spots. Using real life criminals is awesome, and it seems that every boss has his/her own main storyline... Which is insane.... There's 14 (+?) bosses.. I'm actually excited to have a 2nd play-through with a different boss on a higher difficulty. I haven't experienced many glitches at all by the way, and I play on PS4. On launch, the game definitely had issues. The most recent update fixed my biggest gripes with the game. Safehouse exploit closed and biggest significant issues addressed. Playing on PC. I've actually been enjoying the game a lot.

The Safehouse changes and combat improvements have made a massive difference in the game since launch. The MVP here is the new auto resolve combat. It's a tremendous quality of life improvement. The devs have been releasing regular updates and I am glad I came back to it! Really enjoying the latest changes.

I bought this when it came out and played it a bit, and just decided to check it out again as I saw a few big updates. It's tons of fun! A huge amount has changed since then and I've ended up playing it for three days straight. Knowing Paradox there will be lots of good DLC which I will try to resists, and then end up buying anyway.

I started playing this game on launch and though it had problems it has been improving massively since then. The main things I really enjoy about Empire of Sin is how engaging the storyline is. At the start you get to pick a gangster and after choosing Daniel Mkcee Jackson I really connected with him. He's this nice generous guy but he also has a dark part of him too. I got this game on GamePass and didn't know what to expect. It didn't specifically target one genre as it has RPG elements and missions, but it also has combat like one of my favorite games, XCOM2. So, I wasn't sure what to expect, but omg am I glad I installed it. To put it simply, it's so refreshing to find a game that can combine elements of several genres and do it so well.

I wondered why I hadn't heard about the game before so I looked at MC and some other sites and I can't believe what I'm playing is what was written about this game. The recent patches must have fixed things because it is so much fun, and I feel there's still so much I have to learn about the way the different parts work with each other. Just amazing. I hope this is the future of strategy games!

Set in atmospheric Chicago in 1920s, Empire of Sin puts you in a role of a crime boss aiming to become the biggest fish in the underworld. It borrows from many genres and all its intertwined gameplay mechanics (business management, RPG elements, turn-based combat that bears a striking resemblance to the XCOM series) are deep enough to create an engaging experience that requires constant attention. Apart from shallow diplomacy and unsophisticated enemy AI, Empire of Sin’s problem is that while it was skillfully put together from tried-and-true components, it doesn’t bring anything new to the table.
