Jul 11, 2022This game could've been so good, but has the same pitfalls as XCOM. 1 star racket, 4 guards of 55 health each vs my team of 7 heavily armed gangsters, 75% chance of victory? My whole team dies as a result?
Total ****
The RNG is terrible. The consrols are needlessly difficulty in consoles. Load times are still -
Dec 2, 2020America 30th with woman and afroamericans in gansters? Game destroying real hystory.

Dec 3, 2020Not bad game. But i have softlock in main quest and cant play more. More bugs and lags bad animation make this game very bad. When we take patches may be this game will be not bad.

Dec 2, 2020The game wants to do everything at the same time and failed to succeed atgetting things right. It is the worst combat and level design I ever saw in the genre.

Dec 12, 2020Aside from crashes, shotty RNG implementation, and poor VA this is an interesting game. But if you don't want to waste you time don't buy.

Dec 4, 2020Released way too early. The balance is completely off on like every aspect of gameplay. Your boss becomes an unstoppable killing machine, certain hired goons are Overpowered and certain ones are useless. It is way too easy to take out enemy bosses. The list goes on.

Dec 5, 2020Good visuals. Good idea. Other than that, a huge disappointment due to the lack of depth, repetitive (including the 1 liner voice overs), is unpolished (bugged as hell). Therefore, simply boring. OK, the bugs might eventually go away, but It will still be boring. Unfortunately, a lame game doomed to be soon forgotten. Steer clear. If you're out for a good CRPG look elsewhere.

Dec 6, 2020This game has lots of problems. I don't know which one I should mention!! Too boring, bad design, very easy to finish and after finish game is done there is nothing to do. I don't know what they had in their mind to make the game like that there's no chance to be successful with this kind of games these days when there are lots of interesting games to play instead

CD-ActionJul 23, 2021Set in atmospheric Chicago in 1920s, Empire of Sin puts you in a role of a crime boss aiming to become the biggest fish in the underworld. It borrows from many genres and all its intertwined gameplay mechanics (business management, RPG elements, turn-based combat that bears a striking resemblance to the XCOM series) are deep enough to create an engaging experience that requires constant attention. Apart from shallow diplomacy and unsophisticated enemy AI, Empire of Sin’s problem is that while it was skillfully put together from tried-and-true components, it doesn’t bring anything new to the table. LEVEL (Czech Republic)Apr 12, 2021All around a very mediocre gangster strategy game. Its greatest strengths are its greatest problems crowned with way too much repetition and unbalanced difficulty. [Issue#309]

Game World Navigator MagazineFeb 17, 2021John and Brenda proved that they still have the skills to make a passable game, but with a duet like that, we’ve expected a lot more creativity. [Issue#251, p.60]
