Jul 11, 2022This game could've been so good, but has the same pitfalls as XCOM. 1 star racket, 4 guards of 55 health each vs my team of 7 heavily armed gangsters, 75% chance of victory? My whole team dies as a result?
Total ****
The RNG is terrible. The consrols are needlessly difficulty in consoles. Load times are still -
Jul 11, 2022Empire of Sin has so much potential but is let down by repetitive gameplay, frustrating bugs and a lack of polish. One example of an extremely frustrating and obvious bug is when you initiate a tutorial with your character select wheel open it gets stuck, you can't save the game and there is no way to dismiss the wheel or tutorial.

Nov 7, 2021The game is VERY buggy, with highly questionnable game mechanics. Huge disappointment.

Aug 3, 2021Funny enough I find this game relaxing ^w^. Killing mob bosses.... Getting more rackets.... All while some epic tunes play in the back

Jun 25, 2021I can't wait to see what DLC will bring to the game. I was really looking for something tycoon-like to play, and Empire of Sin filled that yearning for me, with more depth than expected.

Jun 25, 2021Great game. 40 euro is a bit expensive for me tho. I would say you to get this one on sale. Bc while it's fun, it definitely still needs some work with balancing.

Jun 17, 2021I have played over a hundred hours of Empire of Sin so far. I expected not to enjoy it as much as I have.
Great game, hope the Devs can improve it even further. -

Ja, ich liebe es. Wer auf strategy-Spielchen steht und gerne enemies zerschrotten möchte ist Empire of Sin genau richtig. -

Jun 8, 2021It's a solid game with a good foundation to build on.
My stance on Empire of Sin is this:
We have seen massive improvements over the months since release
It's fun
And it might be one of the best gangster games of our current time.
I've really enjoyed it. 8/10 -
Jun 3, 2021I like this game, I play it on Steam. There are some bugs that I have run into but they are overlooked.
I wish it was multiplayer so I could play with friends but on its own it is a fun singleplayer game. -

May 25, 2021New player here! The devs gave such a good performance at PDXCon that I was inclined to play EoS soon after, lol.
EoS is great. Open world, missions and empire management! I've been convincing my friends to play since I've been having so much fun lately. Can't wait for the DLC!

CD-ActionJul 23, 2021Set in atmospheric Chicago in 1920s, Empire of Sin puts you in a role of a crime boss aiming to become the biggest fish in the underworld. It borrows from many genres and all its intertwined gameplay mechanics (business management, RPG elements, turn-based combat that bears a striking resemblance to the XCOM series) are deep enough to create an engaging experience that requires constant attention. Apart from shallow diplomacy and unsophisticated enemy AI, Empire of Sin’s problem is that while it was skillfully put together from tried-and-true components, it doesn’t bring anything new to the table. LEVEL (Czech Republic)Apr 12, 2021All around a very mediocre gangster strategy game. Its greatest strengths are its greatest problems crowned with way too much repetition and unbalanced difficulty. [Issue#309]

Game World Navigator MagazineFeb 17, 2021John and Brenda proved that they still have the skills to make a passable game, but with a duet like that, we’ve expected a lot more creativity. [Issue#251, p.60]
