Wow, is this a gorgeous game or what? The models, animations, textures, the freeze-frame action - just superb. Unfortunately, the game itself is completely tedious - it's basically just killing the same monster over and over again, with little room for tactical innovation - but I can't wait to see what else is done with the engine.

Graphics are amazing... but thats all this game has. No content whatsoever. I'll sum the game up... Click left mouse button once to move forward....Click Once to begin attack....hit h...collect loot...wash rinse and repeat. BORING. The characters are so dull and they are all the same. No races...no classes...3 attributes and 4 skills...WOOHOO you sure can customise there...The game Graphics are amazing... but thats all this game has. No content whatsoever. I'll sum the game up... Most linear game since Super Mario Bro's. The only thing that can save this beautiful game is the mod community. Hopefully they can cook up some real depth for this otherwise piece of trash. Dont spend your $50 bucks for another 6 months, wait and see what some real game developers have in store for DS. Expand

The one is for graphics. The rest is BOOOOOOOORING! Lame gameplay, ripoff of Diablo, stupid stupid combat system. You can change a melee expert to a ranged master in about 5 minutes, and bows do equal damage to melee weapons. I ended up with a party of 6 archers and two spellcasters. Spells is another shortfall. Dumb dumb dumb. The hardest part of the game was in the beginning third. The one is for graphics. The rest is BOOOOOOOORING! Lame gameplay, ripoff of Diablo, stupid stupid combat system. Hack hack hack after that. Not even a remote hint of plot either. Diablo is better in every single aspect. Microsoft stinks at making games, and their reputation is upheld here as well. The gams is fun for 5 minutes, then the novelty wears off, and it's just run, hack, kill ten of the same monster, repeat. Expand

You fight, you fight and...oh yeah, you fight some more. Repetative and boring, not addicting.

You know when you try to click your fingers, and yet only succeed in doing so 3 times out of 10? Well this is what the gameplay feels like in Dungeon Siege. Oh, the loot and lore! Oh, the character customization (even though you look like a you have a had a rough day farming your crops)! But after savouring all this, when you go to battle your angular enemies (with a plank of wood, not pitch fork...yikes!) in your corn fields and cabbage patches, it feels a bit like whack-a-mole or rock-em, sock-em robots. And what's with those mosquito things that shoot from afar? Not only do you die en route to clobbering them, but when you do get within striking distance, they seem to deftly avoid your 'razor sharp' wooden baton! Anyway...there may be worse to come, which is why I gave up trying...and didnt bother playing Dungeon Siege 2 (despite the rave reviews, and despite the urge to fall in love with it, regardless of the jolts delivered by the first game). But...hold your (angular) horses...thank God above that Throne of Agony (PSP) and Dungeon Siege 3 came out....now THOSE TWO are shining beacons what the 1st (and possibly 2nd) game should have been stepping stones for! 1. It's positively gorgeous, but playing through the majority of the title feels more like a chore than it does like fun.
  2. A breathtaking work of art; an epic masterpiece that stands out in today’s jaded gaming market.
