    This game has an incredible campaign, some really nice fast paced game mechanics, the glory kills never get old, and this games' sountrack is absolutely amazing. Gun switching with the Doom series has never gotten old, and the weapons absolutely destroy. Nothing like killing the Demons of Hell.

    WHAT A GAME. Banger a must play for sure, hype after hype after hype climax the final boss fight and everything was on point only thing that hindered the experiance for me was couple of bugs and 4-5 crashes but other than that was great enjoyed it alot.

    Do you like parkour? Do you like micromanagement of resources? Do you like restrictive combat and never having any administration? Then you'll love this game. However, for me, this is the worst Doom game ever made.

    Excellent gameplay, adrenaline and violent. Optimized by God Himself. However, there are some smudges such as an artistic direction that in my opinion loses a lot compared to the previous chapter and platform sections that I consider out of place.

    What happened to "Shoot it until it dies" ?!

    The gunplay is boring and tedious with constant interruptions and forced weapon-switching. Melee is basically useless unless you "glory-kill" and the way to fight the demons is way too passive. The Story is.... okayish... but the main-protagonist is way too calm and tries to be "serious", You see it at some scenes where he was supposed    What happened to "Shoot it until it dies" ?!

    The Story is.... okayish... but the main-protagonist is way too calm and tries to be "serious", You see it at some scenes where he was supposed to act (=whip your gun out and shoot the demon) but he had to stand there and listen calmly.

    And the WORST offender in this game are the platforming-sessions.
    Mario with guns and annyoing platforming-sections.
    Its like the game wants to take everything away that made classic DOOM and DOOM 2016 great.

    Playing through it was a chore, but I didn't even know how bad the 2 DLC's for this cinematic-simulator could be: It got worse every hour!    … Expand

    The combat mechanics are perfect. The story is a tad bit lackluster but this game puts gameplay before anything else. The fast-paced combat mixed with arenas that get more and more difficult as you progress. It's great. The marauder might annoy some people, however the game shows you how to fight one the first time. Also, shooting it with it's shield up means it will spawn the dog. YouThe combat mechanics are perfect. The story is a tad bit lackluster but this game puts gameplay before anything else.     - the difficulty is quite high : at the beginning, the game is easy but it becomes more and more difficult and at the end, is a nightmare. I was forced to enable the god mode to finish the game.
    - the platforms stages are frustrating.
    - the oppression and threat atmosphere is not present, contrary to its predecessor Doom 3.
    - no weapons sensations (no recoil...).
    - no manual save.
    - very repetitive.

    This wasn't as good as the previous one, I hated that they just throw at you the same exact waves of daemons/monsters over and over again, it gets boring and frustrating after a while and as with the previous instalment there's no story here just aim and shoot.

    I am not a big Doom fan and this was my first exposure and now i understand what I was missing out. I wouldn't give this a perfect 10 as I wish it had a better repeating loop with multiplayer but its ok as its more of a single player game.

    This game is better than the prequel in almost every way. Its level design is as good. It has a variety of environments and even more enemies. More weapons and attachments to make the gameplay loop more satisfying. My favourite mission is the one on mars where you have to get the BGF weapon as it is a chaotic atmosphere.     1) It became more arcade. In terms of visual design. Where all bonuses and weapons used to be on the ground, now they hang in the air and are huge so even the blind can see them. 2) Fights have become chaotic.     2) Fights have become chaotic. In the last part, the fights were too slow for me, it seems to go faster here, but because of the abundance of flowers and enemies, it is often perceived as a "heap".
    3) There are many small flaws in the game design that don't make the game bad, just make it a bit more awkward. For example exams. In the last game, you had to get runes in such trials. If a player has lost, he can restart the test. If you lose in Doom Eternal, you're save will load BEFORE Trials is activated. +1 key press +1 loading screen. Not that bad, but still a drawback. Tests used to be more diverse. Now - just kill all demons. Boring. etc.
    4) I really don't like the plot changes.

Ammos for guns are intentionally low so that you can keep on juggling them and create even more mayhem. This way combat never gets stale and it's brilliant. The music keeps pumping you on as you slaughter horde after horde. Surprisingly even the storyline is brilliant. Somehow they connected literally every DOOM game into one continuity, hence Eternal. There were so many "Holy **** moments, I couldn't even keep track of them. Can't actually believe it took me this long to play it.    … Expand

    A grand experience, just mindless killing and fun that is for the story mode and dlc. The bonus horde mode added recently adds a good challenge for the endgame players. The only bad thing is the battle mode which is rough around the edges and a bit unfair to the slayer player.

    The game requires you to get close to the enemy and melee them to get supplies. This means you DON'T want to blow up your enemy. It's ridiculous for an action arena shooter to have this concept. I consider the gameplay broken.

    I have to confess that I'm not a big fan of Doom. And Eternal didn´t change a thing. To me it´s just a generic boring shooter which feels quite a bit to long. To monotonous and after playing Doom from 2016 I really don´t see enough differences. None related to the gameplay, which is okay but in my opinion it should've developed furthermore. What bothers me more is that the levels are justI have to confess that I'm not a big fan of Doom. And Eternal didn´t change a thing. To me it´s just a generic boring shooter which feels quite a bit to long. To monotonous and after playing Doom from 2016 I really don´t see enough differences.     I've been playing FPS games since I was 7 and now is pretty much the only game genre I play, I've played a lot of good FPS game in my time, but doom eternal is the game that made me play more fast paced shooter and was my favorite game of 2022. The game isn't perfect by all means, there's definitely things in the game I'm not a fan of, but those problem are pretty minor and doesn't effectI've been playing FPS games since I was 7 and now is pretty much the only game genre I play, I've played a lot of good FPS game in my time, but doom eternal is the game that made me play more fast paced shooter and was my favorite game of 2022. The game isn't perfect by all means, there's definitely things in the game I'm not a fan of, but those problem are pretty minor and doesn't effect my play-style in any way, in the end, its more that just a game, it a masterpiece and one of the most revolutionary games I've ever played> The gameplay is just phenomenal, the movement is great, the enemies are aggressive and fun to fight, the environment is stunting, if there's one thing I love about games, its environmental world building. The weapons are also awesome and powerful and can be used in combos to take down heavier enemies with ease. PLEASE, if you how the time and money, Play Doom Eternal, you might like it, you might not, but still you got ta play it, its great, 10/10 extremely recommended, P.S. Also, the story is horrible, even for Doom standards (it's not Hamlet, evidently, but bloody hell...). And the platforming... oh, god, the platforming.     I was looking forward to playing this game after watching tons of let's Plays. I built my PC last month and I don't know, I guess I had exhausted my thirst to play this game. And every section looked so familiar because of all the lets plays. The game gets pretty difficult on UV. I enjoyed the game but I consider Doom 2016 to be a better game than this. Я слушаю музыку из дума заместо другой. Я играю под неё (не только в дум), я тренируюсь под неё, гуляю под неё. Я Действительно могу перечислять плюсы (по моему мнению) этой игры, я могу рассказывать часами о том как обожаю играть в неё, хочу сделать себе тату с печатью Зверя, как мой дом заполняется мелкой атрибутикой а мои друзья каждые несколько дней видят от меня смс "Я прошел дум". Но зачем, ведь каждый для себя все сам решает. Я лишь хочу сказать спасибо создателям этой игры, создателям ДУМа, за те прекрасные сотни часов что я провел, занимаясь тем что РВУ и КРОМСАЮ демонов, пока не иссякнут.     id software's mismanagement of the franchise's OST and music creator Mick Gordon is a disgrace and should be apologized for. Corporate culture is a cancer in general, but it seems it ate away id Software's integrity. The fans and the franchise deserves better than the current Id management. Marty Stratton should publicly apologize and resign. His behaviour is inexcusable.

    This game is absolutely awesome. I loved this game. It's in 2nd in my fav Doom games, behind 2016. The only reason im rating it a 9, is because of the new spokesperson, and the intro. Wouldve rated a 10 if they kept the same spokesperson, and made the same familiar intro as in 2016.

    If you familiar with the original Doom series, you know that most of the fun came from exploring the levels, because level design was a separated profession back then, whereas nowadays they ask the cleaner lady to do    The problem with this game is that it is called DOOM for a reason which is beyond me, because it is nothing, but Quake 5 arena which pretend to have a story and gameplay.

    If you familiar with the original Doom series, you know that most of the fun came from exploring the levels, because level design was a separated profession back then, whereas nowadays they ask the cleaner lady to do the job.

    The mechanics is the following: you go in a perfectly linear level, and time to time you enter arena fights, exactly and precisely like in Quake 3 Arena. It is fun at first because of the game mechanics which is entirely optimized for this, but it gets old very fast.

    Even the design is entirely Quake. Some pickups, monsters and weapons are like in the original, but they couldn't capture the essence of the design, so it is like that and not like that at the same time. They have reduced every classic thing to a mediocre one. Just why? They had the original, how the "hell" they could mess it up? It is not as if they had to reinvent the wheel.

    Adding lots of Super Mario-like platform elements is also devastating. You are the Doom guy, Super Mario and Lara Croft at the same time. It is anything but funny.

    The other thing is that the gore is missing. They use weird colors and schemes which makes the gore not bloody at all. It is not scary, not disgusting, not realistic, nothing, like a cartoon or something. You explore the hell and the entire hell itself isn't scary at all. In the big soui-harvester you find about 8 souls which is tortured COVERED BY BLANKETS. I suspect this is because of the huge censor, so it is Disney-Quake, targeted the younger age group, which is completely unnecessary, since the true fans of Doom are 30-40 year old guys, and there is no reason to think that youngsters would not jump into it. According to the original Doom, it is mandatory to build the entire game on horror elements.

    And the typical "realistic" color scheme: everything is brown, gray, brown, gray, and brown. Congratulation.

    We have to mention the absolutely, devastatingly bad sound-schemes. This applies to the 2016 Doom too. In the original Doom you cold recognize every monster, every pickup, every event, every weapon by their unique and absolutely amazing sound (which was made from free sounds). Now you have a mediocre sound-soup, in which you can't recognize nothing. It is one of the biggest disappointment in the game. I simply can't imagine how they could NOT make real sounds. They would just have to copy the original, upgrade it and that's all. Same with the soundtrack. They asked the cleaner lady to make this too.

    The monster design is also mediocre. You going to find hard time to make differences between them, in most cases. Hilarious.

    The story is also boring and technically non-existent. It is just a cliche-war.

    I was so badly expected something like the original "Hell On Earth", where you can explore huge cities with tons of explorable areas and huge, open-ground fights. What a complete disappointment, compared to that. Even the original developers realized that they have to make bigger areas instead of tunnels.

    The only thing which is left is to give the game to the modders and let them to make something meaningful out of it.

    I gave it 0 points because this is not a 7.7 point game, but a 6 arcade whatever.

    UPDATE: after 20+ hours, if you learn all the trick finally, such as quick weapon change, quick aim, and get used to the game mechanics, the game going to be more enjoyable.

    However, there are times when you quiet boringly killing monsters at nightmare difficulty.

    While I stand for everything I say, if you master the game, it is going to be better eventually, so I gave it a 6 point instead of 0.

    It is true that the game itself rocks. It really has some unique characteristic, which makes it one of the best in the genre, but this is because the competition is so LOW.

    So regardless of everything said, I recommend this game.    … Expand

    Doom Eternal is an FPS that forces you to play the way it wants you to play because it knows that's where you'll have the most fun, I think ID Software achieved something that games rarely do now. They made rules to how you play the game and how you are suppose to approach encounters so what they really did is they took some of the control away from the player. Итак стал вопрос: почему с обновлениями игры багов стало БОЛЬШЕ?!?!?!?!? Минус пол бала за каждый перечисленный баг и еще минус три за мародера, душных боссов унылый платформинг и сюжет в записках (я не прошу глубокий сюжет тарантиновскими диалогами, лишь чтоб он был на уровне дума 2016, чтоб было понятно кто те или иные персонажи. А то тут какой-то предатель дал какой-то кинжал. Кого этот предатель предал? Кто такие стражи? Че это за призрак деда и почему палач рока встает перед ним на колено? этот дед тоже страж? хочешь ответов??? Читай записки!!! Это называется бездарностью и ленью сценариста. id Software увольте его он у вас прохиндей!

    Sweet game. Loads of innovation. Gameplay mechanics are top notch. Physics great. Looks awe-inspiring. Reminds me of the hectic Quake 3 days but a heap more inventive. The devs obviously spent a lot of effort getting things right.

I got the game for £15, which I think is somewhat worth it but DO NOT buy it for £50. £15 is a fair price for something like this, although I think most of the focus went into the graphics and the marketing material. RTX, DLSS, millions of graphical settings to play with except RTX has some major problems so I figure its only there for marketing.

    Overall, only buy if you find the game under £20. Anything over and its a complete waste of money because the gameplay loop gets boring very quick. People can praise the game all they want but in the end they probably completed it once and never even touched it again.    … Expand

First 10 hours was extremely beautiful but the last 3-4 hours was just horrible. Every game mechanic repeats at the last 4 hours and its just getting difficult to stay alive. There is also a lot of quick time decisions you need to take in regards to which weapons you need to use when you fight different enemies and the environment that you fight them in.     A very nicely balanced game even on the higher difficulties. You got fun options most of the time. The graphics are great, the shooting is fking great (altough it takes some time to get accustomed to), the music slaps, theres a good amount content and yeah I'd recommend a playtrough. The game just kicks ass, left and right. it is not for the faint hearted nor for the people who play at easy difficulty levels. Play it at nightmare or above for the ultimate doom experience. However, if you want a fast-paced, visceral shooter full of non-stop action and outrageous violence, you can't do better than Doom Eternal. If you liked 2016's offering you will love this follow up. It's a hell of a good time.

    Like Jason Statham’s character in Crank, Doom Eternal needs adrenaline every waking second. So long as you drown hordes of demons in their own blood, it feels like a perfect GOTY contender, but during quiet moments, Doom Eternal withers and forces you to ponder unpleasant questions. id Software needs to course-correct, otherwise we’ll be playing Super Doom Slayer’s Bros in a few years.
