If you want to play the game, there are far cheaper ways to do it and in terms of comparison, they aren't all that bad. Dragon's Lair HD could have been something special, something truly nostalgic, but walks away as nothing more than a shameless cash in.
  2. We’d rather view Dragon’s Lair through the rose-colored glasses of reminiscence and leave the reality of its lame gameplay squarely behind us.
  3. The graphics, the sound, and especially the gameplay simply haven’t withstood the passing years. A lobotomized bag lady wouldn’t find this fun, so why would even the most casual PC gamer?

It looks lovely, but plays like an out-of-tune banjo, thanks to the notorious trial-and-error gameplay. [Sept 2006, p.104]

I was an 8 or 9 year old child when my father gave me this game for our Windows 98 system. Isn´t necessary being an expert to enjoy the adventures of Dirk the knight because the idea of the game was created for any kind of player. The entire game is a cartoon movie where you have to control the hero's actions while watching it. It's a big challenge because some parts require memorizing button patterns if you want the protagonist to escape unscathed from some absurd situations (in my case at the begining dungeons). I wish they would make games like this today, but it's an artistic miracle that happens once every thousand years... Fortunately, there are compilations and remastered version for PC to enjoy it over and over. The second game of Dragon´s Lair called "Time Warp" is my favourite of the saga. How many hours I´ve spend playing it...? Full Review »
