Larian designed encounters thinking that someone could always disagree, or ruin things for you, or even kill the NPC you need to talk to, meaning that quests have to be solvable in unorthodox ways.

The writing in Divinity is consistently top-notch. Sure, sometimes you’ll have to destroy a goblin riding a giant mechanical robot, or talk to a dog to solve a quest. But that dog may have a heartbreaking story for you, and maybe you’ll cry just a little. Larian commits to Divinity’s world, and that commitment pays off. This is the kind of freeform, epic, party-based RPG we haven’t had since the days of Ultima, and it’s exactly what true gamers love from an RPG.

I was turned off by the "childish" presentation and a fair bit of cheese in the dialogs and voice acting at the beginning, but man, was I wrong. The game has a vibe that takes me back to very early FF games, depth of tactical combat that challenges the best of the best, soundtrack that is so good I use some tracks as alarms and ringtones on my mobile, dialogue that doesn't take itself seriously and reminds me of Discworld a lot ... and coop ... coop that I can play with my wife and we never enjoyed shouting at each other and arguing about decisions we make in the game so much ... and that pretty much says it all. My wife plays games occasionally and got massively hooked only on Mass Effect and Dragon Age before, but Divinity took her, actually both of us by storm. It's the most simplistic, yet deep, childish, but serious, little but big adventure I had in gaming. Expand

First of all, let me say that I was saddened to read that Kirill Pokrovsky, the game's composer, recently died. The music of this game is probably its most memorable aspect. It has a lightness of being and sense of mystery that will likely outlive the games it was written for. A few tunes definitely tread past the boundary of genius and "mere" game music.

Now for the game. It's a mixture of various qualities. It's an old school RPG, complete with all the good and bad things that implies. The combat is surprisingly fun, and the vast majority of your skills are actually useful, which is refreshing compared with most modern RPGs. I found myself thinking tactically in most fights and frequently exploiting the weaknesses of my enemies. Quite often the tide would turn and I would win by a hair's breadth. Most of the way the combat is exquisitely balanced and the challenge aptly matches your capabilities and current range of supplies and equipment. What a refreshing change from the open world plague that has taken over the industry, where everything is overabundant and too easy beyond a certain point.

There are probably two down sides in the game. The first is the writing. The dialogue is of a form that feels better read than spoken aloud. It's written in an expressive--sometimes outright belletristic--literary style. Characters always have a bon mot or clever turn of phrase for describing the drama that has just taken place, completely unlike real human beings. I find myself wishing for less literature and more psychology; fewer wordy reflections and more visceral engagement with the world. Don't tell me a thing has happened or an emotion evoked, show me it has happened and evoke the emotion in me. The result of this style of dialogue is quite often overacting and melodrama, which is a bit of a shame.

The story is filled with characters craving power who wax poetic about how they crave it, the way that actual cravers of power never do. It sports its Good and Evil badges in the way of a children's cartoon. There are shades of moral ambiguity, but they're quite sparse. The story is also quite smarmy, as your characters turn out to be really special in the end. So special I found it a bit overindulgent. Needless to say, I would have preferred more subtlety.

One other note about the writing: the writer cannot do declension, which is really very embarrassing. Seriously, if you think a sentence like "we came here for Dave and I" is proper grammar punch yourself in the face right now. The "...and I" plague is endemic in this game. If you don't know whether or not to use "I" or "me" in a sentence just use "me" and be wrong the common way and not the hypercorrect way, which makes you look like a fool. The game makes similar mistakes with other pronouns and I won't even start on the mediaeval grammar. Seriously, there is a simple difference between "thee" and "thou". Don't use those words if you don't know it.

    Okay, rant over.

Now the second problem with this game: the puzzles. Some are fun and rewarding, and some are just frustrating. I can proudly say I beat the game without even once looking for help from the Internet or any other source. But, honestly, I don't really know how I did it. Seriously, some of the things I did must count as cheating. In one case I completely skipped a (presumably) very large set of puzzles because I (apparently) guessed a combination you need to get to the other side. That means I found guessing easier than the puzzles.

A common problem with the game is that the devs didn't correctly anticipate what I would find easy or difficult. I'd pass a difficult puzzle and advance the story while missing an "easy" one. As a result, some dialogues wouldn't make sense.

For example, there is a certain kind of power up that must be consumed to advance the story. I didn't need to use it (even though I played on Tactitian mode) and spent hours scratching my head about what I should do next. Another time I needed to loot a certain weapon from a dead enemy to advance the story... but I didn't notice it was there because he fell over top of it. That also cost hours. If a puzzle's resolution makes you groan, it isn't a good puzzle.

All these things being as they may it's still an excellent game. It's unafraid to be what it is. It doesn't apologize or hold your hand through anything. It requires reading and crafting. I requires the skills that many games consider to be bonus. The environments are atmospheric. The banter suits what has happened. The creative direction has focus and consistency, which is refreshing and something for others to emulate

I can forgive some silly dialogues when I enjoyed so much this title. It is one of the best turn based gems out there, the humor, the gameplay and the c&c make this game quite unique. It made me buy for the first time a game still in development, Original Sin 2, and this game too looks very promising. Great series well worth the money and the time.

Some people may well find these flaws offputting enough to give up on the game though, which is a shame.
The major positive is definitely the combat system. Not only is it original, but it also gives you plenty of freedom to experiment tactically, as well as with class composition. Try one thing and fail horribly. Make a small change and succeed. And this could be almost anything. Corner pulling ranged mobs, stealthing behind something to get a better angle on a nasty caster, using an available defensive spell on the right character at the appropriate time etc. There is never just one way of doing something, or for that matter of playing a class.
Another major plus is the music. Sadly the composer of this music, Kirill Pokrovsky, recently died prematurely. He will be tough to follow for whoever gets the job.

    +Pros:
-Graphics. Excellent spell effects, dynamic weather and superb character detail.
-Sound. Good FX but amazing music. This is how you are supposed to make music for a video game: by hiring someone who knows how to write it.
-Combat. Four elements from spells, traps, grenades, weapons and weather to combine for various effects. Fire+poison = explosions, ice+fire = water, water+air + electric fields etc. And there is obviously also physical damage vs defensive stats for melee. It is amazing and gets better and better as you learn how things work. It is also demanding combat that doesn't cheat or coddle you. And this is of course the perfect combat system for any game to have. Might frustrate people with little patience though. How rude!
-Class system and character development. Great depth and room for experimentation with each class. You can mix and match classes in whatever way you desire. Nothing is stopping you from multiclassing your hydromancer into melee combat at any point if you want to. This is so great. Freedom of choice is great, even if they occasionally are stupid choices.
-Dialogue. And lots of it, most of which is voiced for those who prefer that. If anything there might almost be too much dialogue sometimes, and especially because it is easy to miss critical information, particularly at the start of the game.

    Cons:
-The crafting system. This is an almost entirely useless part of the game for me. You don't NEED anything you can acquire from crafting, although some things can be useful, like cooking. And in return your bags will be permanently full of garbage you may or may not need later in the game. You'll also need tools of all sorts, like knives, buckets, cups of water etc, so you'll either have to store those things near a work station or carry them around with you, along with all the other trash you're carrying. It is time consuming, frustrating and annoying. Better to sell all your crafting related inventory trash to a vendor and do without.
-Overwhelming start. The opening part of the game is, to put it mildly, content rich. After a brief prelude on the beach, during which you may or may not obsessively collect every useless seashell on said beach, you are dumped into the game's biggest town and hub of activity. Starting out with an involved and time consuming murder investigation is demanding. But there are also about two dozen side quests and the main quest as well, all in a slightly confusing jumble. If you imagine that Baldur's Gate had started in, well, Baldur's Gate, this should give you some idea of the problem: you get the most mentally demanding part of the game before you actually know how to play the game.
-Steep combat difficulty curve. Not really a big negative, but early combat is a major hurdle for new players, and is challenging even once you get some experience with the game. Mistakes are punished hard with a combat system that doesn't negotiate. If you stand next to a barrel of poison when it explodes you will die. Instantly. Every time. Even I myself, a seasoned RPG enthusiast, felt almost...intimidated by the prospect of leaving town at first. There is a hump though, and once you're over it the combat is a lot more fun than frustrating. Levels 1-3 are just painful getting to that point.
-Occasionally very puzzle intense. This is a big negative for me because I don't like one bit being stymied by some obscure trap puzzle in RPG games. In general terms the conditions for advancement are occasionally far too specific, confusing and inscrutable for my tastes. The right key needs to be brought, the right spell be cast in precisely the right place, the right item in your bag, which you have long forgotten where you picked up, needs to be used, carried or combined with something else, or the correct portal must be entered. It drives me up the wall. More combat/exploration and fewer puzzles please!

New School RPG with an Old School Feel
Divinity Original Sin tells the story of 2 source hunters that you get to customize at the beginning of the game, customization is pretty basic so you’ll be lucky to get a character to match your likeness even a tiny bit
These source hunters are out to solve a town murder, but while solving this murder they’re sent down a path and realize they need to solve something much larger than this.
Before you play this game, you need to be self-aware with the kind of gamer you, because while this game is fairly new, the way it’s delivered isn’t.
    Don’t expect a top down Skyrim…
I was reminded many times of Pokémon, in the sense that every city you go to has its own story that still connects to the main story.., you set out on a journey and that’s it, you’re on your own, see you later or never, the game doesn’t care.
It will not hold your hand, other than marking the occasional few important places on your map for you to go check out
This is a 60 hour journey that you’ll need to figure your way through.
And the only way to do this is to listen to the conversations…
At first this doesn’t seem like too much to ask, but every character you run into talks longer than your mom does when she bumps into somebody she knows at a grocery store,
I’m almost certain 15 of the 60 hours was spent sitting through dialog..
You can skip through any and all, but this isn’t advised as again, it’s the only way you’re going to figure out where to go to next,
you have to literally immerse yourself into the game world to beat it... you have become your character…
That being said, if you don’t have the time or patience to literally almost live another life you’re not going to like this game….
Sure you can follow a guide, but who wants to do that for 60 hours?
Otherwise, you’ll find this game to be quite the masterpiece
You’re solving mysteries and puzzles, there are side quests that can help with main quests, tons of npcs to interacts and trade with, and you want to talk to every npc, helps them, get on their good side and sometimes be able to bring them along your journey..
Their help is much welcomed because outside the city walls the wilderness if full of enemies ready to kill you
Beyond the problem solving that’s going on, there is a turn based combat system here…
This fighting system is very simple to understand with tons of skills and spells to learn based on your characters skills that you get to freely choose as you level up...
You could easily turn a brute to a witch and vice versa….
Through shops, chests, and bookshelves, you’ll find tons of skill books to teach your characters new moves for battles…
You have your basic elemental attacks which come in handy since enemies do usually have a weakness, and the environment is completely interactive…
You can catch things on fire, blow them up, throw poison grenades, it’s all fair game...
My favorite though is the ability to summon creatures to help you…
By the end all 4 of my characters could summon at least 1 creature, while only 1 of the 4 were a witch…
You aren’t forced to stick to certain skills based on your characters stats... there is an insane amount of freedom here…
Still, it took me a little over halfway through the game to get my team so stacked... so for the first half I had to rely a lot on scroll, which can be used to regenerate a fallen member, summoned creatures, or do elemental attacks…
I did however feel that I was a little too over powered in the last 40% of the game…
I hardly had to think during battles..
It seems as though I’ve figure out the best strategy and it failed maybe 2 times onward…
but even the final bosses were a breeze…
This made the final few maps feel like a drag, and you kinda get to see just how repetitive the game real is…
Still the first half of the game can be insanely challenging at times….
some bosses 1 hit killing your entire team, having to force you to approach their rooms differently so all of your member don’t take the damage…
Luckily you can find some epic loot to help with elemental damage, give you some stat boosts, and if all else fails, there is a quick save feature to let you retry as many times as you’d like, or leave, stock up and come back…
The journey to the credits though is well worth it..
Especially since your characters feel so real to you
They will interrupt when they disagree with your dialog choices, causing you to have to rock paper scissors your way through a decision and this really an extra layer to the immersion..
OF course even better if this other person is sitting on the couch with you, as this game does support split screen coop as well
Despite feeling more like a puzzle game for the final half, Original Sin is one of the best RPGs in a long time.
But if you aren’t willing to put in the time and effort this game demands,
    I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it
I give Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition
    a 8.5/10

Would have love to score the game higher but story dragged on too long towards the final quarter and there were some really terribly puzzle designs (e,g, hidden buttons, tedious reading required), Even with FAQs, I had a hard time figuring puzzles though combat was well-designed.

I've never seen a game get so many revisions after its initial release. I mean, they redid ALL of the voice acting and added more challenging difficulty modes.

It gets a 9 because of minor combat annoyances like characters moving when you tell them to attack.

If you enjoy tactical RPGs, you'll love this.

    Very intriguing and smart RPG.
I started in strategic mode and i found it rewarding and challenging.
Only 2 bad notes that make this game a 9/10: - combat system very slow ( 3 seconds for my hydrosophist to cast a Buff spell is too much - good thing they've fixed it in divinity2) -sometimes puzzle in this game are frustrating as **** sometimes you're stuck in one place for 30 minutes

Players can combine items into that one great tool you need via an Ultima-inspired crafting system, tactically use those environmental effects in conjunction with your skills, or sneak around to find the unbeaten path.

D:OS is an RPG where you can kill everyone on the map or strictly follow the story and everywhere in between in order to complete the game. The game's narrative suffers as a result though, the story is convoluted and ultimately devolves into a save the universe pitch. But what D:OS lacks in storytelling it makes up for in familiar Larian charm and humor. With a substantially more interesting combat system and new emergent gameplay features, D:OS takes Larian's RPG series to new heights.

Her eşyaya etki edebiliyorsunuz.

In the first hours you will think, this game is great, but later on more and more weaknesses are coming out.
First of all the gameplay is almost perfect: complex fight mechanics, great character development.
The humor in the game is simply great. The music is beautiful and I like the english accent. Unfortunately the voices gets annoying, because they repeat to often in the city.

Graphic engine is perfect, but... the camera view is horrible, it is not only very near too the characters, but you cant look much in the distance.

The bad sides of this game is the story telling. It is a pitty, that a game on this level has such a simple presentation of the story. But on the other side I prefer a game with great gameplay than a game with high costs and therefore needs high sells (" game for the masses").
The manual is unexcusable: a complex game need a good manual. because of that I started with 2 defined characters...a big mistake. Fortunately there is CheatEngine, so you can change the characters.
The controlling and overview in the interface is not good. Especially crafting is unclearly.
There are some gameplay mechanic, that are stupid: the stone paper scissor decisions are !(&%§"$ . And in addition I didnt like the riddles in the game.
Another element I hated was gender + feminism propaganda elements in the game, so annoying. Some dialogs were even embarrassing. Let politics stay out of games, just do games please.
And there are still bugs and I couldnt finish few quests, because they were intended to be finished before certain events.

You'll often default to one character to lead, which means they're picking all the things up, which is good for crafting but bad for questing. You'll end up with one character carrying 50 identical looking books and you're just mousing over them one by one looking for the one relevant to the puzzle you're on. The enemies' resistances are very inconsistent, which is a pain, since Skeleton X will take bonus damage from fire but Skeleton Y will not. R+clicking and examining every enemy really slows the game down. Expand

    - Perhaps there could be more interesting combat abilities to learn, more options to choose.
    - We played multiplayer with friend on normal difficulty. Start of game was good and balanced according to dificulty, but the middle of game and end of game were very easy for us (Moderately experienced players, no maniacs). Maybe we had very good gear and level, but i think the dificulty curve should be made better :-(

Pretty good game overall. The highlight of Divinity are its lush, colourful visuals and the combat, which is challenging and engaging. If I had to criticise something about the game, I'd probably say that inventory management could be less cumbersome, and the game does go a bit overboard with some poorly designed environmental traps and puzzles.

You can make it rain to form a puddle which make those standing in it wet, zap the puddle to electrocute those in it, or throw a fireball at it to make a steam cloud which blocks line of sight and then zap the steam cloud the zap all the bad guys. It's incredible.

The game also has a fairly interesting and for the most part rather well executed story the whirls the player through a variety of interesting and well designed locations. Encounters never feel forced or simply pointless, there is always a story behind the fight and many times a way to avoid fighting if you're clever. The game does suffer from a bit of a slow start and players may initially be at a loss for what to do when they reach the first real hub of the game due to the extremely open nature of the game and a minimum of hand holding. Objectives and quests are given via dialogue with npcs in almost a conversational manner. There will be no special box asking you to accept the quest and the quest's conditions, it will be rather more of someone in the market complaining that one of their sheep vanished in the night and it will be up to the player to keep an eye out for sheep stealing shenanigans as they explore sans quest marker, arrow, or any other sort of tool.

This is an rpg quite unlike many other rpg's that have been produced lately and it is an absolute joy to play.

Story: i think the main plot is the weakest out of all the games elements. you start off as source hunters sent to investigate a murder involving source (source is a dark magic and is forbidden). but you soon learned there is way more to it and you uncover a conspiracy to destroy the world over a shared lover of 2 sisters and your characters are actually ancient guardians who forgot who they were and its your destiny to stop the void dragon. the story is really well paced and i didnt realize how the later half was really cliche and boring until i ended it or at least i died to the void dragon ( i never actually beat him) i would have preferred if you were just straight source hunter for the majority of the game and you are chasing a fugitive( i guess technicly it is ) medevil cops would have been much cooler to me
    Story: 7.5/10

World building: although the mains story was weak the world building was great , to the orcs , the void and even the order of source hunters. the world is so well built nothing feels out of place , where some one can be brutally murdered resurrected as a zombie. blood gore and bright and cheery colours . there is alot to the world to unpack and alot left to unpack. the physics make sense and the games world follows its own set of rules and this makes the combat flow even better than expected.
    World building: 9/10

Graphics: graphics aren't THAT great a lot of models are ridged and not super detailed but the animations are good enough and the bright colour palate more than makes up for the minor short comings. the powers are flashy and showy but subtly at the same time. but i cant say the graphics are great they are just Pretty good but pretty good is still a high praise from me
    Graphics 8/10

Game play: this is the best part of the game , playing this game is a joy ESPECIALLY the combat , physics and elements mean something and all have unique status effects and there is no item not useful, electricity stuns , poison well poisons, fire burns, ect . for the longest time i was never a fan of turn based combat other than in pokemon games but divinity has opened my eyes there is a lot of potential here as well as greatness. the dialogue trees could use more work but you still don't have to fight your way through everything and that good.
    Gameplay: 9.5/10

Sound design: Wow is all i can say. the music was incredible and fitting of the world and setting , everything is voiced and acted well. But the music is so incredible i am listening to it as im writing this and there is only good emotions that it invokes. my one problem with the sound design is actually a glitch, if combat dragged on for to long my sound would cut out and no sound effects would play and if the song ended it would be mostly silent. and that was bothersome in longer fights
but this is something easily forgiven because it didn't happen often.
    Sound design: 9.5/10

    7.5+9+8+9.5+9.5= 43.5
    43.5/5 = 8.7/10

Original sin is a very good RPG with turn-based combat and tons of dialogues. Role-system is very good, quests and story are not perfect, but they keep your in the game and that's enough.

Been playing with controller support. Lots of fun, though targeting is sometimes a bit cumbersome. Combat is deep and rewarding. The world is really interactable. I found a locked chest so I put it in front of a fire trap and it burnt away, leaving me to take its contents. The story is okay from what I've seen so far, and the characters aren't really holding my interest beyond their mechanical value. That's okay though because the turn-based combat in this game is just so damn fun. The first game I've played that I actually enjoy TB combat in. Looking forwards to delving into DO:S 2. Expand

I finished the game after 118 hours of adventure.

Good sides; - Good storytelling and various quests. - Dialogues are short and concise, voice acting is great. - The music is amazing. - Crafting is fun, it's nice to deal with Inventory. - Exploring is fun, variety of items is high, looting is fun. - The loading screen takes a very short time. - Combat is fun. - High replayability.

    What I don't like;
-NPCs are constantly talking and repeating the same things.
    - It can be difficult to control the characters sometimes. (Missclick)
    - Crafting books and hard to find necessary knowledge.
    - Crafting menu could be more user friendly.
    - (SPOILER) I didn't like the Dream part at the end of the game. While waiting for a nice combat, they put a puzzle section that is not nice.

Overall it was a great game, I was never bored. It's an RPG game that really needs to be played. I definitely recommend.

Amazing RPG: an immense amount of choice, and strategic combat that thrills and satisfies. The story is extremely in-depth, as is the in-game lore in general (discovered through NPC’s, books, documents, etc.).
If you love RPG’s (particularly old school ones like Baldur’s Gate, Dragon Age: Origins, etc.) pick this one up.

A trilha sonora é boa, porém extremamente repetitiva.

In my opinion it's the 2nd best rpg game ever. The better rpg game is it's brother Divinity Original Sin 2.

Already one of the greatest RPG games of all time, the new enhanced edition of Divinity: Original Sin improves the game on so many levels that it touches a level of almost absolute perfection.

И т.д. - 12/10

Legendary RPG with a lot of customization elements and freedom to explore and choose your own path in this open world game. A lot of puzzles, a lot of dialogues and decisions to make. Tactical turn-based fights using environments such as barrels, rain, snow, etc. Never have I played a tactical game with so much tactical depth.

Very good game, with deep mechanics and a good freedom concept with scenery interactions.
It lacks of a better history and deeper characters, also the items are not special, you always discard the old ones for the newer.
Tactical turn-based combats are hard and tactically good with plenty of options, but tend to became boring.
