    First off, the part of this game that really shines is the lenthy lore and the plot. All of it is original and creative. The stealth mechanics were excellent, being more realistic than thief or deus ex machina games. The chaos level is unique to dishonored and promotes stealth over running and gunning. Air assassinations and backstabs use the exact same animation every time. The same is with sneaking or running. The semi open world made dishonored levels a sandbox with both replay-ability and creativity, unlike the courses of thief games. In contrast to negative reviews, I simply say that there would be no need for a blackjack or the abusement of your sword's pommel. Great game overall and for a true stealth fan.… Expand

    Is a good but impersonal adventure.
    Dishonored presents an interesting world. mixed with amazing gameplay. Bottlenecked by a weak and impersonal plot. Everything happens because yes, seems lot like a bunch of backgrounds for missions rather than a true tale, combined with plot-twists as predictable as can get.
    Kinda rare side of the specter where a story-driven game is carried by it's gameplay.

    Uno de los mejores juegos de sigilo de la epoca, muy re jugable, buenos graficos, buena historia, increible jugabilidad, varios finales dependiendo tus decisiones. Muy muy muy dificil de completar al 100%.

    Great game. Each level is a mini open world and you have a lot of skills and weapons to choose from. Tons of side missions and mini objectives to complete as well. Great graphics, sound, and story.

    I have ignored this game for almost 2 years. This was because for me, Thief: The Dark Project was simply the best game of that genre.
    And then came Dishonored. Well: Thief has found his master.
    Why Dishonored is the best game in his genre: 1. There are always several ways to complete a mission 2. There are consequences of your decisions! 3. there are a lot of interesting side quests    I have ignored this game for almost 2 years.     And then came Dishonored. Well: Thief has found his master.

    Why Dishonored is the best game in his genre:
    1. There are always several ways to complete a mission
    2. There are consequences of your decisions!
    3. there are a lot of interesting side quests
    4. there is a stirring story
    5. there are superbly delevoped characters

    And now comes the best part:
    6. there is the DLC

    I love games that provide a different perspective on the story and his characters. In Dishonored, you play Corvo, while in the two DLCs "The Knife of Dunwall" and "The Brigmore Witches", you play Daud, the assassin of the Empress. In the DLC you get to know the reasons of Daud. It is clear that he is not a soulless assassin, but has quite comprehensible motives.

    Like in Half-Life "Opposing Force" or "Blue Shift" you can experience this game in two perspectives.

    If you like Hitman, Splinter Cell and Thief, Dishonored will comfort your gamers soul!    … Expand

    Ever since I first heard of Dishonored (which was not so far ago) and saw some gameplay videos I was excited. The setting looked interesting and it reminded me a lot of the Thief games which had some solid level design and great atmosphere.

    Most reviewers compare Dishonored to Half Life 2 and Bioshock but I'd say it's more of a mix between Thief and Deus Ex. Level design is indeed great, better than in say Thief: Deadly Shadows, and on par with Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Gameplay mechanics work well, the game always gives you an option to either go stealth or guns (and swords and crossbows) blazing to finish a mission and that's the freedom I like very much. Not only that but your character is also able to use a small number of special powers like a time pausing effect and a sort of infra vision to look through the walls which are granted to him by the mysterious "Outsider". The story is solid and there's even a twist near the end to spice things up a little bit.

    Graphics do their job but it's clear Unreal Engine 3 isn't fresh anymore so the game can't keep up with more recent releases in this area. The story itself isn't bad but I think the characters could have been further developed and the twist near the end is a bit obvious as well. Also the story never explains who or what is the mysterious "Outsider" and what is he trying to achieve with helping you which is a shame. The player is also able to get some of the special powers too early in the game, notably infra vision, which makes the first half of the game a bit too easy for my taste. There also could be more of those special powers and it wouldn't hurt if a certain mission called The Flooded District was either made a little bit shorter or replaced entirely because in contrary to all the other missions this one is far more linear and thus boring.

    In the end I have to say Dishonored is almost exactly what I was hoping for. It is set in an atmospheric world and has among other things great level design which allows you the freedom to play the game the way you want. Sure it's not without sins, but what game is?    … Expand

    Dishonored is one of the best stealth/action games of all times. Powers make the game really fluid and fast to play keeping the stealth as a major part.

    Pros:

    - The superpowers, although not particularly creative, are incredibly fun and varied within the context of this gameplay. Blink, in particular, deserves the highest praise in pushing the boundaries of how a stealth game should handle.
    - Solid plot with a few memorable characters. Succeeded in providing enough motive to carry out the assassinations, but not much more than that.
    - Crisp controls that greatly facilitate immersion through gameplay
    - Technically flawless with no hiccups in performance and lightning fast load speeds

    Cons:
    - The middle levels in the game feel a bit slow and too similar to each other.
    - Since the game harshly punishes aggressive play, many of the tools at your disposal simply cannot be used throughout the game
    - Low enemy variety. Vast majority of opponents are guards.
    - Frequently glitchy, making a few quests impossible to complete for no reason.
    - The ending, at least the one I got, felt very anticlimactic and sudden
    - Visual style is passable for the most part, but I can't get over how poor the faces look
    - Would have been nice for characters to respond more differently to your actions. For example, for the most part, nearly nothing different is said when you take out a target non-lethally as opposed to outright killing them.

    Final Word: An incredible stealth game bolstered by its innovative level design and crisp mechanics.

    Dishonored is my favourite single player game so far. Out of all the stealth based games I have played, Dishonored is by far my favourite. Sure the story is pretty basic and the graphics are average, but the things that clearly rise above everything else are the fantastic gameplay and level design. In every mission you must navigate through streets, buildings and roadblocks in order to complete your objective, which usually involves assassinating or kidnapping someone. One of the best things about the game is the replayability due to the ton of choices you are given on how to play the game. For instance you can go full-on Rambo and murder everyone in your way, hide in the shadows waiting for the perfect moment to strike and ithere are also non-lethal routes for those who want to have a peaceful playthrough. The city changes on how you play for instance, if you kill everyone in your path, then the city will have more rats and weepers (zombies) also allies will treat you differently compared to low-chaos playthroughs. All in all Dishonored is a fantastic game with a huge amount of replayability and easily my favourite single player game so far. Arkane did a great job with this.… Expand

    I think that is perfect game! I've never seen more interesting gameplay!!!You can be quite and kill no one or destroy everything on your way.Nice graphfics,elaborated game world,great plot which depends on your decisions and excellent soundtrack.

    A great game overall, even for someone who isn't into the stealth genre like me as much as it offers you a variety of many different approaches to each level. I would recommend to pick it up as it is rather cheap nowadays.

    What this game excels at is, being really simple and varied at the same time.

    It's not the best stealth game or the best RPG game, but Dishonored combines those two elements and lets you create your own path with many ways to get the job done.

    The steampunk-porn world design only contributes to its overall perfectness.

    First person stealth at its finest. The story could use a bit more juice. I had to push through the end of this one as the energy died down about mid way through. Does not take away from its great mechanics and fluent movements. You really can be as creative as you would like in the approach. Characters are the worst part of this game.     I chose the dark path. Killed all in my way. I am curious on how it would play out if I play through more like a ghost. Still had a great time with Dishonored.

    The lore of the Dishonored universe is really interesting, and surprisingly coherent. A great game.

    Dishonored excels in the sheer amount of freedom you're allowed. Every single playthrough I can try something new or find something I didn't know about before. Even with gameplay as a focus, fantastic world-building and atmosphere find themselves being equally impressive and important to the overall experience.

Of course, these may seem too powerful for you, but these are all things that will happen over time. And trust me the game is tough. Coming to the story, it is also perfect. The choices you choose really take you somewhere. And you MUST play the DLCs of this game. You will be amazed. This game is literally a MASTERPIECE with everything.     For those who missed this timeless masterpiece, play it and you might deserve to call yourself a gamer.

Печально, но факт — в работе над Dishonored французская компания взяла на себя слишком много, не сумев реализовать все составляющие так, как было задумано. Чудные приспособления в стимпанк-стиле, гнетущая антиутопия и магия из тёмного фэнтези — настоящие таланты могут сложить в цельную картину даже такие, несовместимые на первый взгляд, вещи. Однако, в некоторых моментах можно "поймать" довольно красивые кадры

    *Недостатки*

    Стелс-система:
    Освещение и тени не играют абсолютно никакой роли — противники хорошо видят в темноте, а вероятность обнаружения зависит только от того, есть ли между вами достаточно высокое препятствие. Поэтому уже не удивляешься, обнаружив, что источники света нельзя уничтожать. Звук же, при всей своей детальности и проработанности, разносится недостаточно далеко — сойдясь в поединке с противником на первом этаже и звеня сталью, не удивляйтесь, если этажом выше не произойдет ровно никакого движения.

    Сюжет:
    Сюжетная линия в Dishonored довольно примитивная с очевидной развязкой и финалом, от которого ты не получаешь какого-либо удовольствия. Спустя 9-12 часов, когда по экрану поползут титры, с разочарованием думаешь: «И все? Неужели это конец?»

    *Итог*

    Dishonored отнюдь не идеальна и изобилует недоработками, но она стала настоящим глотком свежего воздуха для жанра. Ни в коем случае не стоит пропускать игру, предлагающую геймплейное разнообразие в новой вселенной, — особенно в эпоху коридорных шутеров и порядком заезженных сеттингов.    … Expand

    I thought it would be a mediocre game for me but it turned out to be better than I expected and became my favorite game. In this game, the story should not be very important, but I really liked it in comparison with other games. The game has its own beautiful visual style which, together with good graphics, makes the game truly beautiful.

    One of the best games ive ever played. The gameplay is the greatest one ive seen, story is also good. One problem is it's really hard to loot. It's still a 10/10

    If you enjoy first person stealth games you must play Dishonored, Arkane developed one of the most fun gameplay formulas regarding super powers and level design.

    We can draw comparisons with other titles all day, but everything is based on something. Dishonored remains a unique gem in a beautiful, yet chaotic world, with flawless gameplay. [December 2012]

    Dishonored rarely challenges the players, but it doesn't take them for fools, either, so that's an achievement compared to other games in the genre. Just don't expect strokes of genius like the Shalebridge Cradle level from Thief: Deadly Shadows.
